- All Around The World, performed by Oasis, live at GMEX, Manchester in 1997, one of my favorite concerts of all time, oddly.
GMEX is now called Manchester Central.
This concert was performed during the peak of their popularity as a band in 1997. There album, Be Here Now, has just been released, debuting at #2 in the US charts, and #1 in the UK charts.
The number in the title represents the order the song was performed that night, in case you dont have common sense. For All Around The World, it was the thirteenth song performed that night.

Long Performance of a long song by Oasis. The longest song to hit number 1 on the UK charts, this song was also in a commercial! Great song and performance.

Can't help but think of that rehearsal video from 1992 - 5 lads from Manchester, in a garage about to take over the world in the blink of an eye. Stuff legends are made of!

liam gave it everything. the “please don’t cry and never say die” wow. it’s no surprise he started losing his voice after this tour. my favourite part is when his accent comes out during “i hope that ya drown”. INCREDIBLE

The way Liam shouts "please don't cry and never say die" will always makes me cry ! He was absolutely unreal and unreachable at that time, what a singer !
He wrote it back in 92, he wasn't all that rich then, he could barely afford for a guitar.
The man is a legend, this song would be as good as it is now even if he wrote it now.

Could barely afford a guitar is nonsense. He always said he was earning good money as an inspiration carpets roadie and he was living in India House in Manchester, an apartment complex which wasn't exactly cheap..
GMEX was Liam's best vocal performance of his whole career. He just kills it at this gig.
The way Liam says: ".... Make me shiiiinnne..." Makes me smile.
Liam was at the very peak of his vocal prowess. He was in a different league to anyone at that point. I cant believe just how good he was back then.

wish I was still 17................nothing stays the same my friend........damn I was a junior in high school at this time................fucking awesome band coming from an American.......the UK has given us some of the best rock and roll bands ever.............not as many produced, but the ones that came from this part of the world reign supreme............U2, Pink Floyd, Phil Collins, Clapton........etc........and yeah....Oasis too..........

There’s something about the ending from time 7:22 to the end that is just unbelievably beautiful. The bass and guitar, drums and the vocals, god they were on fire here, all of them were at the top.

BHN album was fucking great in its own right. It was so weird and wonderful.
It was something that could only come from OASIS.
There was little to zero outside influences/excerps that came from this album like there was on the first 2 albums (Beatles, Stone Roses etc).
This album was just them fucking about over a 4 month period in the studio after the highs of Knebworth and this was the result. Weird, wonderful and TOTALLY Oasis.
So to recap, NOT their "greatest" album as such - thatmust be reserved for the 1994/5 era when they were raw.
But mebbe in some ways it was their greatest work as it came from them alone, no outside influences... Purely them doing their thing.
liams voice was at absolute peak, i wish i lived in this lifetime, he was so ahead of his time and he knows it.
I view this as the last hurrah of the explosive Oasis era. The most over the top, yet satisfying song of all-time

This is my favorite oasis song
As magnificent as prime level Oasis was, they truly should've had the global dominance and exposure that a super group like Coldplay had and still has. But I guess Oasis would have lost that iconic cult status for 20 year olds like me in the mid 90s thinking the late night parties and skirt chasing will never end😢 That's a quality Coldplay can never have on fans.
Belting belting version of this tune and what a gig Gmex 97 was.
Unfortunately the set list took a heavy toll on Liam's voice and AATW was dropped as the tour moved into 1998 along with Fade-In Out, Stay Young and Getting Better (Man!).
By the time the band got to South America then Australia a considerable Noel acoustic set had appeared and Liam was still feeling the effects as the SOTSOG Tour kicked off in January 2000 with Some Might Some and D'You Know What I Mean ditched after 2/3 gigs in Japan.

be here now had great songs that were just a little too lengthy (but i like it for some) and kind of a cheesy, overproduced sound, with generic lyrics, but it was nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be. i say solid album

After the first 2, the expectations of the British public (now, worldwide public) were so high you would not believe.... They delivered with #BHN. Released anthems.. anthems that we could sing along to.. however, with a more seasoned vocals and guitar playing behind it. Immense 😍

Watch Oasis in Rock in Rio, 2001, his voice sounds amazing there; but, he never took care of his voice, that's why at the end of the tours he sounded pretty bad, but even after 2001 theres concerts when he sounds amazing, mostly in the begginig of the tours
