Thank you. This was my wife and my song. She passed away March 3rd this year at the age of 46 from a major stroke. It gives me a sense that she is still with me each time I hear it.

My dad asked me to play this song at my mom's funeral. They were married for 57 years. They built a financial fortune together. However, this song is what he said told the story of what really mattered the most ultimately in the end. Sharing each other's love and not expecting anything more.

"I Could Not Ask for More" is a song composed by American songwriter Diane Warren and originally recorded and released in February 1999, by American recording artist Edwin McCain for the original soundtrack of the 1999 romantic drama film Message in a Bottle, starring Kevin Costner, Robin Wright Penn and Paul Newman. It was also on his third studio album Messenger (1999) and became a Billboard-charted Top 40 single in the summer of 1999.
In 2001, American country music artist Sara Evans popularly covered the song on her third studio album Born to Fly (2000). Her rendition was released as the album's second single and peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Edwin McCain has a wonderful voice. It's packed full of emotions that are so pleasing to listen to. His band were long time touring friends with Hootie and the Blowfish. Just a great song. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Lady Gator. Nice choice. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Harry this was from a movie starring Kevin Costner A Message in a Bottle. And it also starred the late great Paul Newman. It was such an incredible movie. Based on the novel by Nicolas Sparks. Edwin McCain is such a great songwriter.

Sara Evans did the original in a country western style. I think you will like hers also.

Sorry my friend, this version was releases in Feb 1999, over a year before Sara Evan's album "Born to Fly" in 2000.
      Sara's version is better IMHO.

look. I’m telling you, this is a great song, but you could do a lot to introduce people to the greatness of Edwin’s vocals with other songs. I highly recommend “Don’t bring me down,” his cover of “Love TKO,” his rendition of “Jesus, he loves me,” “Holy City,” or “anything good about me.” Dude is phenomenal and even better live

If you dig around there is a copy of Edwin McCain laying down a performance that's arguably better than the original..."walking in memphis" but one day it just disappeared. ..amazin...peace
