Bud Moore was a master mechanic, engineer, and car builder. He had tremendous success in NASCAR as well as Trans am racing. As a kid growing up in Spartanburg SC in the sixties and seventies, I remember riding by his shop and seeing all kinds of cool cars in the parking lot to include one of these 1970 Boss Mustangs. What a special time.

Actually the Bud Moore/Parnelli Jones Boss 302 Trans Am Mustangs were shod in Firestone tires, not Good Year as stated at 3:08...the reason Parnelli didn't win the '69 series was due to tire issues at the end of the year, but they worked with firestone to work that out and then dominated in '70.

Tires were an issue in 1969? Maybe......but that sure didn't slow down Mark Donahue in his Z/28 in '69.......the history book states he won all 7 of the final races in the 12 race season......Z/28s were the class of the field winning 8 out of 12 races that year. 1968 was a winning year for the Z/28 as well.......1970 worked out better for Ford.

The dominance didn't start until after the St Jovite Quebec race disaster.

1970 Ford easily won because Chevy stepped away from the effort. In 68 and 69 the Z/28s were just unbeatable......come 1970.....GM walked away and into a new Direction leaving Ford with no real competition what-so-ever......AMC and Chrysler were never serious threats. The Mustangs and Camaros were just that much better than the rest of the competition in TransAm.

The '69 Z28s weren't unbeatable. In '69 they won 2 of the first 6 races with Mustang winning 4. The Boss' garnered all of the pole positions up until three of the 4 Boss cars were destroyed in a multi-car pile-up at the St. Jovite Quebec race. Then Z28's became unbeatable.
