When one of my daughter's was about 7 or 8 I built her a big dolls house and painted it flamingo pink. This video brought back lovely memories. I've shared this video link to my daughter.
I remember we were driving across the country and stayed in a motel overnight. My infant [4 months] son was fussy crying despite our efforts to sooth him. It was around 9 pm but someone from the next room came over and banged on our door to complain. After a long drive, our baby was having a hard time settling down to sleep in the strange environment. No one wants coughing or crying, but often it can't be stopped easily. I travel with ear plugs just in case.
That's the coolest hotel. I love the colors and retro styles. I think I saw something years ago about that and the Property Brothers helping design it. I'd stay there over the fancy hotels. Fun place!

Couldn’t imagine ever having the audacity to knock on a strangers hotel door and asking them to sleep with a pillow over their face. I mean maybe they should wear ear plugs if they don’t want to hear coughing, snoring, or other Palm Springs bedroom noises lol

This is the best place you stayed at so far, in this USA series. I think the "grand" hotels in LA can learn something from this place!! Still $700 is a bit much for motel/hotel, without a decent restaurant. Think $250 would be fair for a standard room at this place!!

I do wish you were able to show the views the other rooms. The different themes are great. While you were in Palm Springs you should have stayed at Willam Belli's house. OMG YOU WOULD GO NUTS FOR HIS AWESOME BnB. It's so wonderfully bizarre with loads of features. Do yourself a favour and look it up. Just like Trixie, Willam is also a famous Drag Queen.
Also Tim you've never seen a nest brand thermostat??? the owner can change any settings you may adjust ,,, remotely to make sure not to cool an empty room..
Tim, are you aware of The Magic Castle Hotel in Hollywood? Staying there is basically the only way to get an invite to The Magic Castle, a private club for professional magicians and magic enthusiasts (the only other way to attend the Magic Castle's meal and shows is to be invited by a member). The club experience is so fabulous that by itself it would be a great reason to visit the hotel, but the hotel has STUNNINGLY amazing guest services, and I say that as someone who worked for 20 years in 4-star luxury boutique hotels. If you're going to places like the Trixie, you need to visit the Magic Castle Hotel and the club the next time you're in LA. Or maybe even extend this current trip...
Noticed something that seems a little naughty of the hotel in the Terms and Conditions at 4:33 - charging an additional $150 'pet cleaning' fee for service dogs. Isn't that discrimination under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? Certainly would be in the UK under the Equality Act 2010.
Love, love, love this. I love Palm Springs. I would never be able to stay there because I'm asthmatic and even if I asked them not to have this in the room, the smell would definitely be in and on everything. Thank you for sharing.
Reminds me of how a 1960's tract house in LA whose exterior was used for The Brady Bunch (an American TV sitcom of the 60's-70's) was completely gutted and duplicated to look like the retro-70's-style sets from the TV show. Just thinking of all the work required to plan, assemble & construct (& finance) such projects wears me out.

Great to finally see a clean room compared to recent videos! Those 'air fresheners' are the worst though - chemically toxic even if you're not sick, as they create 'secondary pollutants' which are volatile organic compounds (VOCs) irritating to eyes, nose & throat, and can cause damage to organs & the central nervous system. I've sometimes had to leave and stay elsewhere if too intense (I've found US hotels to use them the most). Even if unplugged, the VOCs linger for a long time.
Trixie is my favourite drag queen on RuPaul's Drag Race. How come I didn't know that she had her own hotel? It looks so much like a Barbie playset with all of the pink and colourful style choices. I suppose it makes sense because her name is literally Trixie *Mattel*.

I love the mountain ranges of Palm Springs. Was there last year visiting my sister and her family. One of the best vacations ever☺ What an interesting place. Love the night lighting around the pool. So different.

No tv that’s a vacation if they chose to shut off phone. Price is high, thin walls 🫤. You want to be comfortable while on vacation. It’s cute. Not sure if I would stay there however. Really nostalgic.

Is it my cup of tea, no. Was it clean, neat, and tidy…..absolutely! The room was very well put together and definitely got the theme down.
I'm not buying that price, more like 60 USD per night.
