Evaluation of an Air Source Heat Pump in Calgary: Shaving a Yak

This is my analysis (Python code and Jupyter Notebook) for an air source heat pump in Calgary, Alberta. The end result compares the CO2 emissions for the air source heat pump (where electricity is produced by a combined cycle gas turbine) against an efficient natural gas furnace. I also compare the utility cost of a heat pump and a gas furnace. The source code is on my GitHub site at
