    If I lived in your area, I'd buy Serena's bouquets for sure! Nobody at my local farmer's market has anything that looks half as nice. There was one booth with bunches of sunflowers, and that's it. The two markets in my city are mainly fresh veggies, fruit, nuts, and lots of pre-made foods by local businesses.

    • @yeevita
      @yeevita 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I always thought that since I saw her flowers. Around here, the bouquets look very messy. I always end up buying 2 or 3 to arrange myself. Hers always look so balanced.

    Serena needs a "Floral Stem Cutter" it has a long blade, you stick the whole bouquet in and quickly slice the ends even....this will prevent some issues later with overworking her fingers and hands clipping each stem separate....at our stores floral dept they have the cutters bolted to a piece of wood and sitting across a sturdy garbage can...all the stems just fall right in, no fuss... :}

    I sell dinnerplate dahlias by the stem in my roadside flower wagon ($4ea or 3/10). It's pretty much the only thing I sell July through November as my Campbell River 60x120 city property (including house) is not big enough for a wide range of product. The white ones sell like crazy in August but not before and not after. That said, a florist does like to come by and purchase them for weddings.

    Gosh, I tried making a bouquet with flowers from my garden. It went.... Kinda well!?? I didn't have much choice -- One or two echinacea, some coreopsis, shasta daisies, and some Salvia. I envy your bouquets 😍😄... If only I could teleport to the farmers market every market day and buy a buncha stuff and teleport back home in Virginia.
    Is it just me or does the cherry segment remind me of Pac Man?!? 😂😂😂🤣🤣

    Serina please get yourself a picnic sized plastic cooler with a handle to sit on while you harvest flowers. It's light and small and easy to carry from place to place. Sitting on it, you can harvest just as far into your beds as you can squatting kneeling or bending, and you can swivel around on it to reach 360 degrees of flowers. Good to see you out, but please take it easy and recover 100%. I ran a small business for many years and put in endless all nighters and no days off. I reached my financial goals, YAY, but now I have multiple auto immune issues and have had 8 eye surgeries trying to restore and maintain my vision. I can't drive or even walk unaided in unfamiliar places. Its hard to enjoy the life I worked so hard to attain. No amount of money is worth your health darling.

    This has become my favorite TH-cam channel. I always look forward to your videos. The market one is my favorite. So beautiful flowers and veggies!!! You are very hard working people. I wish you the very best!!!! As I watch this video I am thinking:”today is Friday. They are harvesting and getting ready for another market!!” I hope you sell everything tomorrow!! Take care

    Just found you guys yesterday. I find your videos so relaxing to watch even though I know how hard you work.
    I live in Ireland and we're experiencing a heatwave at the moment 30 degrees +, so I can't imagine 44 degrees 😳.
    Greetings from the Emerald Isle,
    Sara xxx

    Love the flower bouquets , inspired to grow more myself ,hope your family is getting and staying well .
    I do have a tip for Serena, it's just about the way you rubber band the bouquets.
    If you slip the rubber band on just one stem of a bouquet then just wrap the rubber around the whole bundle and then slip it over one or more stems just past where you slipped it over the first time , Wallah done it's a really easy and quick. This is the way that we wrap salal bundles blue Huck that gets shipped to florist all over the world from the Pacific Northwest state of Washington. I hope you give it a try , love you guys 🌱🌷🌼🌻🌺🌹💮🌸🌾🌿🍅🍒🍆

    The smoke is very bad this year - so many fires and no rain in sight. I know we’re all tired of them from Covid, but the proper n95 masks really help with the smoke/ash and are easier to breath through than the cloth masks. Happy to see Serena wearing one :) It would be nice to see her mouth when she’s talking, but it’s understandable to keep it on. Where is YOURS though??

    Politicians just aren't doing the right thing for our environment.
    You both should carry around something to drink, to keep hydrated. Wear a mask.
    You do not need to make bouquets. Sell the flowers individually. You might discover a new way of selling them.
    Wishing you the best.

    I truly love you two and your sweet relationship! I love the way you talk about Serina and how supportive you are of her and how you recognize how hard she works! Your a good husband! I hope she's feeling better (I think she is, right?) Stupid smoke, stupid fires!! 😥

    Oh those bouquets are gorgeous!!
    Hope you’re feeling better. The 3M N95 masks that fully compress around your face were the best for the smoke in the Australian bushfires. Hope things get better soon.

    Your bouquets are absolutely gorgeous! I am moving to the Okanagan region in the fall, I can not wait to visit your market stand.
    Take good care of yourself and I hope you are back to being 100% healthy

    You guys are brave!! Just short times outside for Serina for this summer. Gatorade is good for electrolytes. Gorgeous produce and flowers. Always wowed!!

    I feel for you guys. I was in Kamloops and Vernon right when Sparks Lake and Juniper fires first started and the smoke was bad then. Family is saying it's even worse now. I am very thankful that it hasn't made it down to the coast yet. We were on Saturna Island just last week and there wasn't much evidence of the mass kill-off in the tidal zone. Thank goodness for that!
    Stay safe!

    We used to live on Okanagan Valley on the US side (Omak) - It is a magical part of the world. Now we are in the WIllamette Valley in Oregon. The fires are horrible. I am glad to see Serina wearing a mask- last year wearing KN95 masks was the only thing that made caring for animals and the garden possible.

    Team flower here! Congratulations on the harvest! The room literally looked like a flower shop! Amazing! Really beautiful crop despite the challenges with the heat and smoke! What was that big round white daisy with the curled petals?
