I swear this series better not fail. I miss the old days where Lego did their own original series instead of only making ideas sets to pander to adults. This series is the first original in a long time, and it might be my favorite they’ve ever done: encouraging creativity and rebuilding is what Lego is all about, and this series does it in a wonderful and playful way.

Personally, I always felt the show never seemed to use the dream setting to its fullest potential. In the first episode, they show off a couple dream creations never seen again, and the show lacks seasonal gymmicks, unlike other shows. They show off the Crocodile Car only once or twice, despite it and the idea of Tandem Dreamcrafting having potential.
I've actually tried to watch the show twice while bingeing the entirety of Ninjago. First time wasn't great. I got bored on episode 3 and just dropped it after a few more episodes. Then I gave it the second chance and endured all lame 20 episodes of the first season. SPOILER ALERT: the story of s1 turned out to be a boring "Rise of the Guardians (2012)" rip-off with some iconic lines literally copy and pasted. But then the second season kicked in and kinda fixed the plot for me. This time it wasn't a rip-off but rather a solid original story with interesting message. More so this season utilized some small details from s1 very well, making it look like the story was planned for years ahead (which I doubt due to some contradicting creators' statements but who knows).
There’s a lot of high priced sets. That’s my main issue, all the cool stuff seems to be in $80+ sets. I’m waiting for the theme to have a sweet $50 ish priced set so I can get something substantial to try the theme without putting in too big of an investment.
Nah thats not true. Look at the awesome pegasus, the new green car (i know wasnt released at the date of your comment), the funny whale balloon, the sandman tower (its over 50$ but u could easily get it for under with discounts just now) and many more i just dont have in mind right now, ppl just only want the big cool sets but dont want to pay the price for them…
@LegoManCam my kids, their mates and cousins always wanted to play with my castle sets. Castle and pirate sets/figs just look cool compared to some of these modern themes that have failed.
I like the sets and the show is OK, but Im affraid that we won´t get past 2025. Hopefuly we get atleast one more wave after the January 2025 one. As for how they sell - Depends. Last Christmas a few of the sets were sold out, but other than that throughout the year they seem to be always in stock. I think the inflated prices are a definitely a problem. Z-Blob and Bunchu are $15 sets, not $20. That car that got leaked for next year is a $25-30 set, not $50. Or why is the Cage monster, which is barely bigger than $20 Bunchu being sold for almost 2x the price? Or the fact that the Dreamzzz subreddit is pretty much dead even though the theme still runs also doesn´t inspire confidence.
In Turkey, only friends and DreamZZZ sets gets a clearance discount. Other themes doing fine. Will pickup either crow or nightmare ship when i have money for it
The problem with lego is the cost for a big piece count set. If they offered customers with an option to order online to just get the pieces they could make sets so much cheaper. I could care less about a box lol. They could even workout a deal with Amazon to make these types of sets exclusive and sell them cheap. Unfortunately lego has a reputation of wasting their money.
As a kid I liked getting classic castle, space starting from blacktron 2, aquasharks, pirates, even paradisa sets (loved the pastel colours) and still own all of my childhood sets. I remember seeing the Time Cruisers sets revealed and found them to be offputting nonsense. All the themes I loved were simple concepts and made sense. I see Dreamzzz sets and it reminds me of time cruisers and it's offputting to me for the same reasons so I can imagine kids feeling this way because, I did, as a kid. It's just random "stuff" with no logic or structure. The Monster Pirate Ship is the only set that I found really cool, everything else I wouldn't spend a penny on. LEGO can't seem to shake off the idea that original themes need to be "weird" and "whacky" like the ill-fated Vidiyo or Hidden side.
Weirdmageddon, but its every set, and some of them are just Mabel's wacky child brain like the bunny on roller skates, you have to admit though that the villain sets are decent
I feel like 1 year is a good guess. The current state of Dreamzzz kind of reminds me of Power Miners before the last wave of that theme. RIP Power Miners.
I think with their original lines Lego is really trying to net the younger child market as their other themes like Star Wars trend more and more to adults - I think most of their sales are now adult collectors and so they use Dreamzzz to try and appeal to children and still have a stake and relevance in children's toy sales
The reason I think all these themes failed and Ninjago was a success is because Ninjago is simple, and you don't feel you have to watch the show to understand and enjoy a set. They're ninjas flying on dragons and fighting in mechs. It's simple, it's cool and everybody enjoys it. Also, you immediately understand what's going on in the set once you look at it: ninjas fighting against bad guys. Now all these other original Lego themes are way too inventive, and their sets, although looking good, aren't as simple to enjoy like the simple cool concept of ninjas, dragons and mechs, and you also don't really understand what's going on in the set if you don't have the context of the TV show previously. I think that if Lego made their medieval and space themes into official themes with their own TV shows, it would succeed more easily. Medieval knights with dragons and castles? Simple, cool, everybody understands and everybody enjoys. Astronauts with spaceships and aliens? Simple, cool, everybody understands and everybody enjoys. You wouldn't really need the context of watching the TV show to actually understand what's going on in the set, just like Ninjago. Lego should turn 180° and, instead of trying to be too inventive, try to be the less inventive e the simplest possible.
Im considering getting the t-rex or big z-blob mech so I could 'have a taster' of the theme whilst having builds based of things I like (JP, ninjago etc)
Something we all need to know is that the TV show and the sets are very different things. The TV show is in my opinion terrible, at least if you compare it with Ninjago and Monkie Kid, I feel like every episode is boring and nothing really happens. About the sets though, the sets are pretty great because the sets are unique models we don’t really see in any other Lego theme. The sets has some great instruction art and the fact that you can build the set in different ways is also pretty cool. We can also see how the Lego group is going all in with this theme, we are getting new Dreamzzz seasons faster than Ninjago seasons and we get dual molding and side printing on most Dreamzzz minifigures as well. I do not know where Lego is going with their Lego Dreamzzz theme but it will probably fall soon because Ninjago is just better. Thanks for reading sorry that I made it this long but I had to speak.😅
Even though I've not bought any of the sets (i have no space left on shelves after too much Ninjago) I have to say that the story here is really interesting and well done. even the show. when I head the Matteo was being voiced my MACRO of all people (he's a really cool content creator) and this was his first ever role? I was unsure. but honestly? he's nailing it. I'm really enjoying his performance. even if the series doesnt stick around long. I think it did a good job in telling a good story. with some really cool and imaginative sets. something that helps make lego awesome.
Honestly, it is gonna depend on how much LEGO is gonna invest into this theme, and may depend if children are ever gonna still enjoy it. But let’s face it, out of all the franchises LEGO has, Ninjago is the *behemoth* of them all!
there's no beating ninjago.the writers of the show went above and beyond.zane's sacrifice against overlord alone probably made them more money than some of their failed projects
I hope that Dreamzzz can at least last long enough to have a long story like Chima because I’m still taunted by Mateo x Zoey which they still need to make happen
I grew up with Ninjago and Dreamzzz just doesn’t feel like something I would like watching at my age. Meanwhile with Ninjago I can turn it on without feeling like im watching something a 7 year old would. I watch what I like I but Dreamzzz just isn’t hitting.
Unfortunately, it is too expensive. What made Ninjago thrive were its lower prices compared to other products. (At least a few years ago.) Additionally, it's missing more sets that are less theme specific and could blend in with other playtables/displays.
Imagine this show becomes a new multi-year Lego success. That would probably be great for Lego and would convince them to start making their own themes again. This would be fine as long as they don’t mess with the legend itself and their most popular continuing oc, Ninjago. Imagine a love-action Dreamzzz movie… 💀
If I was a kid still I would have gone crazy over the adult set releases of today, always felt LEGO sets were too simple back in the day, but still I feel it is important for LEGO to have original sets with more play features, from orgiginal IP:s!
Okay, I watched all season on Netflix, my thoughts: season one was about matoe becoming an "aware dreamer"( because of that mateos siblings and friends can be an aware dreamer) and defeating the nightmare king. Season 2 was about Mateo, Izzy, Zoey, cooper, and Logan trying to defeat the Never Witch in one or more ways. I may not have watched every frame or heard every voice line but there are theories that I can come up with: 1. Matoe can use Lunia's Hourglass and we can see that Matoe's mother is gone, and Lunia is gone around the same time, so does that mean Lunia is Mateo's mother? 2. the nether Never Witch can take away memories from people, Ninjago dragons rise when the ninja finds Jay, and he loses all his memories, how? We are gonna need to watch the next season, but maybe there is a crossover(between Ninjago Dragons Rising and Dreams). I know that some people are gonna correct me, or tell me something I might have missed, so please do that, I appreciate that. Thank you
Some lego dreamzzz sets are bangers, even bought them without watching the show, the turtle bus, the tree and the new raven and the witch, and the T rex ones are visually awesome.
1:11 i have never seen or heard of this set im finnish and we have in our stores pretty big selection of dreamzzz sets and i have never heard and seen this set this is weird that the new theme has already a forgotten set
I'm someone in the US, and, until this video I had never once heard of this theme. So it's safe to say this could be failing, due to the lack of reach Lego is trying to do for this theme. (( And I'm unironically heavily biased towards Ninjago, as I've been watching that since the Pilot episodes. ))
You know Lego theme would rule internationally. Lego super Sentai or Lego ultraman. Think about it, this is any easy way to make use of the old molds for bionicle parts
I think the molds for CCBS and the old Bionicle parts are actually scrapped, like gone (which sucks, but bringing it back would be Hella expensive) but I agree we are missing an anime or tokusatsu esc Kaiju vs Mecha theme, its perfect for Lego since they love doing mechs and monsters
Just got the Narwhal set at my Walmart and it was $15.97 here in the US. All that was on the shelves besides that was the Z-Blob set, I couldn’t find a single one of the bigger sets. Really wanted that Turtle Van, the dinosaur, or the nightmare shark.
I still say they need to make sets that you can either buy individually or buy 2 different sets that you can combine. They need to get rid of the 10 cent piece count for just a specific theme that you can combine 2 sets into a 3rd set. Basically a 3 in 1 but you have to buy 2 sets.
I dont like the TV show, but the sets are amazing, not all but most of them. Chima and Nexo Knights, i loved to watch (i also have all Chima DVDs), and the sets, but i dont have that many
Kinda expected it to fail from the start, I can appreciate its creativity and its message, but it's just kinda meh.. a big reason a theme like Ninjago is still doing good is because of the show still being at least good. And the Dreamzzz show is kinda meh. The sets are ok though I'd rather stick to Monkey Kid, Hero Factory and Bionicle for now, the ladder 2 being discontinued. Ninjago is kinda dead to me sadly.
There's a few themes that I think are good that I personally don't have any interest in, except if I can use the set, prints, or pieces for other things. Like Harry Potter, I bought 2 Aragog sets for a potential dragon age moc. The problem I have with this theme is that while it's fun and creative, it's almost too whimsical for me to get any use out of.
For me, a 40 year old adult so not target audience, this theme is a bit aimless. There are some cool minifigures but I don't like the bunny thing and silly robot. Of course it's all over the place because it's based on dreams which tend to be acid trips all the time. However I would love a more consistent line. The existing franchises have killed almost all slots of Lego. Dreams and Ninjago are the only Lego created lines. I had hopes for the somewhat new Lego Space line but they don't have an enemy faction and are just kind of Lego City with an entire Space collection. Ninjago needs to stop, I know it's popular but it had like 5 years, just stop it there is enough and it will force Lego to fill that Medieval / Sci Fi good faction vs bad faction slot.
I think the dreams sets look rlly cool but I’ve only ever watched a episode of it but I do hope it becomes successful as hopefully Lego will release more original ideas:)
The biggest issue i see with dreams is that it is cluttered as a concept for sets rather than the 3 in 1 children's sets. The antaganist sets are the most consistent of them.
I quite like the designs and the changeable nature of the models a classic lego set feature is interchange parts. I dont own many myself yet but some of the figures and animal pieces are very nice
If they had some cheaper villain sets, I'd definitely try and get them. As it is, the location builds are definitely going to become the basis for mocs If it does fail, I hope it doesn't take another good colour with it like Nexo Knights and Hidden Side before it. Most places are selling the nightmare creatures set for less so I may well buy it.
In my opinion, we need something like Dreamzzz, just considering the color options and unique builds. The TV show is good, not as good as ninjago, but it has potential, however, the ending of second season makes no sense, like how is evil witch that aimed to destroy the world just changes her mind. Minifigures look stunning tho, really high quality and valuable pieces ❤
That theme will probably never gonna be as big as Ninjago but they got really cool sets and pieces and nice gimmick of rebuild and alternative builds for the same set which the essence of Lego to build and rebuild like the good old days with Classic Space for example
I don’t really pay attention to dreamzz which I guess is why I never knew that minifig “puffy vest” accessory got created, but I need one in red for my Marty mcfly fig lol
I think they did an okay job, although Matteo and the others got overshadowed by Zoey’s backstory (no hate to it, to me I thought it was the best one. It was relatable.) We got parts of Cooper and his stressful life. Logan changes into a better person, with two moms. And his middle name is Nico. Izzy’s a younger sister. Astrid is like a German version of Cooper, only a little different. Night hunter is good. And Matteo, I still think his mom is Lunia and he still needs to do more to reach his full potential. But he’s nice.
They drop them too quickly. That said, I can understand the trepidation. I still love the original storytelling, but I'll be darned if I can afford or even desire to purchase a ton of LEGO anymore. If there was a way for them to not focus on sets, it might help but then again it wouldn't be LEGO anymore.
I picked up the Dreamzzz sets as they work in a fantasy world, also my nephew's have fun with the Crocodile car that I gave them. The older nephew is getting the Nightmare ship for Christmas and the younger nephew is getting the 3 in 1 Pirate ship. Since there is very limited castle this gives me the fix. Also the fir sale prices in the US are not as steep from what I have seen.
I like The Series and the Sets are cool I don't think it's failing but maybe we'll get more Crossover Specials like we got with Ninjago but I don't know if it's confirmed if Season 3 is the last season tho? I guess we'll just have to wait and see
DreamZzz interests me but I haven't got too many DreamZzz sets, I've found the sets to be a bit hit or miss; there's some I like and some I don't, I like the Elves-like Dream Village and Magical Creature Stables but haven't bought them yet
I’m an AFOL & love Dreamzzz, and my son loves playing with my sets (he’s mostly a Minecraft/Ninjago/Jurassic Park fan). I think it’s a really great but unfocused theme which feels like it has struggled to find its audience - it’s constantly deep discounted. Strongly suspect it’ll wind down in 2025.
I really like this theme it’s much better then nexo knights or china or monkie kid and especially hidden side which I think was the worst theme . Some of the sets are really cool like the big crow from season 2. I watched both seasons and in my opinion the episodes didn’t feel as much repetitive as the nexo knights episodes and I also prefer season 2 especially for the evil version of Mateo , Logan etc. and the sets in my country are still not sold out even tho most are retiring this year 4-5 if them are 40% off
i've seen some sets in legoland.they looked pretty cool, because the colours were a lot more vibrant then in previous series, but i decided to see what the show's about first
I mean the theme's cool and all but it's just too kiddy sometimes and sure ninjago started off that way too but like the show the audience grew so ninjago made a few minor changes to make the show more likeable for its current viewers.
I'm 30 now but I found this theme really cool in its design and premise and have been collecting them. I'll be a little sad if it does fail but I think my wallet might be more thankful!

I miss when we had more than two original action themes running at a time…
There’s a lot of high priced sets. That’s my main issue, all the cool stuff seems to be in $80+ sets. I’m waiting for the theme to have a sweet $50 ish priced set so I can get something substantial to try the theme without putting in too big of an investment.
Nah thats not true. Look at the awesome pegasus, the new green car (i know wasnt released at the date of your comment), the funny whale balloon, the sandman tower (its over 50$ but u could easily get it for under with discounts just now) and many more i just dont have in mind right now, ppl just only want the big cool sets but dont want to pay the price for them…
the story seems very uninteresting to me but the sets are really amazing.
I wish it would continue.
I've watched dreamzz and it's not really my thing, but NGL i love the main characters design with him having what looks like vitiligo
I really hope this one doesn't get cancelled like Nexo Knights got, on a cliffhanger
I find it really enjoyable
I wish they'd focus more on pirates and castle stuff. That's what kids think is cool.
Definitely kids of the past, not sure about kids of today though? Maybe they need to find something like how ninjago brought back classic ninja
@LegoManCam my kids, their mates and cousins always wanted to play with my castle sets. Castle and pirate sets/figs just look cool compared to some of these modern themes that have failed.
Or something edgy and dark, anime, or giant monsters, I see kids these days also enjoying those
I like the sets and the show is OK, but Im affraid that we won´t get past 2025.
As much as weird and wacky can be good, it can get pretty generic.
It kind of feels like weird, bad Gravity Falls
I’d describe it more as Nightmare on Elm Street with no horror. At least Dream Warriors.
I really hope Dreamzzz can release those canceled Vidiyo Dino heads in a small set.
the sets are just too expensive for a lot of families to swing for outside of like a birthday gift sadly, and i think thats it's biggest issue.
Thats the issue of literally every LEGO themes, licensed or not.
LOVE U MAN! Thank god you feel better
Unfortunately, it is too expensive. What made Ninjago thrive were its lower prices compared to other products. (At least a few years ago.)
Additionally, it's missing more sets that are less theme specific and could blend in with other playtables/displays.
*live-action, not love-action… someone delete autocorrect from existence please 🙏
If I was a kid still I would have gone crazy over the adult set releases of today, always felt LEGO sets were too simple back in the day, but still I feel it is important for LEGO to have original sets with more play features, from orgiginal IP:s!
Season 1 was god awful, but season 2 somehow hit it out of the park.
Thank you
There was a Ninjago crossover, and the show is canonically a show in the show’s universe
I think this is an official Lego store exclusive set. 👍
I'm someone in the US, and, until this video I had never once heard of this theme. So it's safe to say this could be failing, due to the lack of reach Lego is trying to do for this theme. (( And I'm unironically heavily biased towards Ninjago, as I've been watching that since the Pilot episodes. ))
The sets are just too expensive for something without and licensing fees.
Every time they try and make a new ninjago it fails. When will they learn it just isn't going to work and it's a waste of money to try
S1 was good but nothing special, and S2 was actually an improvement. I hope the show at least continues
Just got the Narwhal set at my Walmart and it was $15.97 here in the US. All that was on the shelves besides that was the Z-Blob set, I couldn’t find a single one of the bigger sets. Really wanted that Turtle Van, the dinosaur, or the nightmare shark.
I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those themes that people are gonna want in the future people don’t really appreciate stuff until it’s gone.
There’s a Lego store that opened recently near my place and they’re using dreamzz sets disassembled in the pick a brick/build a minifigure sections 💀
Lego, bring back Power Miners and Space Police and my wallet is yours!
I still say they need to make sets that you can either buy individually or buy 2 different sets that you can combine. They need to get rid of the 10 cent piece count for just a specific theme that you can combine 2 sets into a 3rd set. Basically a 3 in 1 but you have to buy 2 sets.
Some sets you can actually combine , the dream village for example , you can combine this one with the stables or the Treehouse
I dont like the TV show, but the sets are amazing, not all but most of them. Chima and Nexo Knights, i loved to watch (i also have all Chima DVDs), and the sets, but i dont have that many
I want lego dreamzzz to stay. Because I like the them.
I’ve watched season 1 and 2 and they are amazing. I loved it so much, I’m creating my own season 3 lol
I think one big issue is just how pricey these sets are nowadays
man i loved chima as a kid
best lego system theme in years. as an adult fan of lego, this theme single handedly kept me interested in the brand.
It's hidden side all over Again
Kinda expected it to fail from the start, I can appreciate its creativity and its message, but it's just kinda meh.. a big reason a theme like Ninjago is still doing good is because of the show still being at least good. And the Dreamzzz show is kinda meh. The sets are ok though
I'd rather stick to Monkey Kid, Hero Factory and Bionicle for now, the ladder 2 being discontinued.
Hidden Side was so cool. I got my daughter a few of those sets for Christmas the 1st year they came out.
They need to make a series that can break off into other themes like castle/fantasy and pirates
Personally, I like Dreamzzz. It's different.
Exactly I especially like how relatable the characters are
I think the dreams sets look rlly cool but I’ve only ever watched a episode of it but I do hope it becomes successful as hopefully Lego will release more original ideas:)
Loved the video man, Great job!
Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed it!
The biggest issue i see with dreams is that it is cluttered as a concept for sets rather than the 3 in 1 children's sets. The antaganist sets are the most consistent of them.
Alot of the sets for dreams don't fit with my collection concept of making a starwars type army.
I quite like the designs and the changeable nature of the models a classic lego set feature is interchange parts. I dont own many myself yet but some of the figures and animal pieces are very nice
If they had some cheaper villain sets, I'd definitely try and get them. As it is, the location builds are definitely going to become the basis for mocs
If it does fail, I hope it doesn't take another good colour with it like Nexo Knights and Hidden Side before it.
Most places are selling the nightmare creatures set for less so I may well buy it.
could you do a video on Lego Elves, its one of the few franchises with a friends type of body. I loved it as a kid but it ended so quick.
I want to see the return of chima or Nexo knights
That theme will probably never gonna be as big as Ninjago but they got really cool sets and pieces and nice gimmick of rebuild and alternative builds for the same set which the essence of Lego to build and rebuild like the good old days with Classic Space for example
I don’t really pay attention to dreamzz which I guess is why I never knew that minifig “puffy vest” accessory got created, but I need one in red for my Marty mcfly fig lol
The sets cost sooo much and this is a kids show
I think they did an okay job, although Matteo and the others got overshadowed by Zoey’s backstory (no hate to it, to me I thought it was the best one. It was relatable.)
We got parts of Cooper and his stressful life.
But he’s nice.
ive seen both seasons and season 2 is a masterpiece!
you see, people like me part of the problem is I keep trying to remember to watch it but then I just end up watching Ninjago insted
I guess we'll just have to wait and see
Big dog just cause a theme doesn’t become a staple doesn’t mean it’s failed. Lego does small 2&1/2 year themes all the time. It keeps things fresh
I have a 7 year old brother and he LOVES this show. I always find him watching this show
For the last 18 months I've only purchased sets that are >30% off, and I own the majority of the sets... so no they are not selling well in the US
DreamZzz interests me but I haven't got too many DreamZzz sets, I've found the sets to be a bit hit or miss; there's some I like and some I don't, I like the Elves-like Dream Village and Magical Creature Stables but haven't bought them yet
I watched both seasons and in my opinion the episodes didn’t feel as much repetitive as the nexo knights episodes and I also prefer season 2 especially for the evil version of Mateo , Logan etc. and the sets in my country are still not sold out even tho most are retiring this year 4-5 if them are 40% off
i've seen some sets in legoland.they looked pretty cool, because the colours were a lot more vibrant then in previous series, but i decided to see what the show's about first
Gosh where do you get those prices, here in germany you can be happy if you get 25% off
I like Dreamzzz, the shark ship is really dope and the raven house one too. The series was pretty fun imo
That raven looks awesome! I love how you can detach the house and make it a walking house!
I think this theme is cool, they just need to do something about the larger sets.
Guys it's preformed normally for it's kinda theme. It hasn't failed
I mean the theme's cool and all but it's just too kiddy sometimes and sure ninjago started off that way too but like the show the audience grew so ninjago made a few minor changes to make the show more likeable for its current viewers.
I feel like I'm the only one who is loving this theme. So good!
The only dream sets in my stores are the big ones like the Raven and the T-Rex
Dreamzzz should continue for TWO more years!
We never played their Lego Warner Bros Video Game before.
I'm 30 now but I found this theme really cool in its design and premise and have been collecting them. I'll be a little sad if it does fail but I think my wallet might be more thankful!
I don't think a theme can really be failing if they are still making new sets and there's plans for sets in Summer 2025 as well.
