What also is funny that we look at it from the perspective of OUR time we live in. If you look at it from the perspective from which time THEY live in there are some mayor differences in how handling "honor" and so on. But yeah his death was sad and it gets even more sad when they reveal in the upcomming episodes youll watch how his life is (well just a glimpse but still).
Rengoku had such a strong impact on me. I since a kid wanted to protect the innocent and weak too. I do martial arts and when in my last fight i was out of power the image of rengoku saying "set your heart ablaze" came through, i overpowered my opponent and won, even though i almost paid for it with my life due to heart not receiving oxygen after my fight, i was happy i went beyond my limits and won, i was happy i was strong and i was happy that if needed i could protect someone. A month later after i got well I'm still training everyday to protect those i love and care about. Keep your dreams alive people and no matter how much you struggle, set your heart ablaze.
Because that is the theme of demon slayer. Keep living no matter how cruel reality can be it is in every character in demon slayer. Even in the demons because they were once human remember.

He was this untouchable god to the gang then that whole idea was turned on it’s head. He’s my favorite character, such a well written one in terms of like ability. For a character who isn’t the main character to make you fall in love within a movie then rip your heart to shreds. It’s just beautiful and so sad.

The Mugen Train movie has way better animation than Season 1, Rengoku's 9th form alone has more frames of animation than other scene in Demon Slayer to this day. The Infinty Castle scene with Muzan doesn't have better animation than the movie, it just has great storyboarding, compositing and 3d layout. Great animation is not the same as great visuals, Infinty Castle scene has the latter. Hopefully this helped 😁

Just remember rengoku was fighting with human limitations while the demon had a natural advantage over rengoku. Also rengoku was just 20 and all his power was his hardwork. The demon on the other hand was 200 and only became this powerful by eating several 1000 humans. Still rengoku managed to save everyone and at the same time almost killed him.

A little late but the scene with the other hashira was supposed to be more meaningful. The manga goes into more detail (and you get a little more in the anime) but the Rengoku household is one of the last with a continuous hashira output, and as such, pretty much every other hashira has either lived, trained, and/or grew up at the Rengoku household. Kyōjurō is pretty much the only hashira unanimously respected by all of the others.
