    felt very, VERY nervous and protective of Nathan the moment this stream was announced because my gd the amount of people using Israel's bullshit against Jewish people (especially those speaking out against the genocide of Palestine) is genuinely horrific. It was wonderful to see how Strongly Nathan felt about this charity stream too. Not that he didn’t care about any of the others, but this was clearly personal. Like, he always happy and there for the ride and to be support, but you can tell he treads carefully as the only (as far as I’m aware) cishet drawfee member (they mentioned this on a stream not long ago, in a hearty comedy moment where they made it clear that if all the bi/queer people were to leave the room it would just be Nathan); you can tell he wants to support without talking over and doesn’t want to step on toes (and we love him for it). But he was vibrant and the one giving as much information to help out as possible. And as shit as the whole genocide situation (and the Zionism associated with it) is, it’s really good to see what joy in the face of your oppressors can do. The drawfee charities have been a huge rock in my life lately… mostly just cuz hyperfixation and the giggles make my brain go brrr. But they’ve helped me grow and mature in my connection to my human adulthood and the way I view politics and the world

      Once again another lovely example of your vote, or by extension your voice/choice, matters. The voters in Michigan who put pressure on the democrats to actually do stuff about Palestine, the people in this stream slamming down the big bucks with a united ease, it's enough to make this not old not man cry.
      In a bee hive, our values and goals are the queen and we are the workers. The workers would struggle to live without their queen, and our values mean nothing without workers behind them. We are reliant on each other-thats why every bee matters in a swarm ❤

      Yep, voting AND direct political actions if you're in the US can be much better than donation. There are already plenty of trucks with food aid on the borders waiting to be let in Gaza right now. What's lacking is the political will to let them in. (And yes, this IS a deliberate strategy of starving civilians, something that one would hope ended in the Middle Ages)

In this increasingly intolerant and unjust world you guys, and this community, really are a beacon of compassion and positivity.

    • @origami_dream
      @origami_dream 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

      I politely disagree that the world is getting increasingly intolerant. I never thought i'd see such an outpouring of support for Palestine, when everyone i'd talk to about it when i was younger would do the "it's too complicated for me to have an opinion" (this was before the term 'take') thing. Now, that's been squashed. People can see the horrors; the genocide. They can see how uncomplicated it really is, in real time.
      When i was younger, being trans wasn't at all accepted. I didn't even know it was really a thing until i was a young adult. And the horrible things and slurs i heard were constant. It was maybe the most transphobic era of TV, as youtuber Lily Simpson has explored in depth. Now, there is undeniably more acceptance than there was then. More openness and understanding. It's just more polarized. Some people have gotten worse; more scared, because of that progress. Because LGBTQ+ people are more visible, and gaining rights and recognition. But the majority have gotten better. And we have seen an uptick of hate and violence with the vileness being spewed by the terrified bigots, but that will only lead to an increase in tolerance, in the end. Most people will see those horrific acts and realize how wrong they are and to be more tolerant. To oppose them.
      Now there is the threat of fascism to worry about, and the hateful people getting all the power if we don't oppose them everywhere we can. And even the less-hateful ones are still largely complicit in genocide. We're not there yet.
      But the world's getting more tolerant. It's getting better in a lot of ways. Climate denialism has gone from the norm to fringe. Islamophobia has dropped off a lot, at least in the US (obviously not the case everywhere, given... ongoing genocides and concentration camps). I get to fight to be recognized and addressed as nonbinary. 15 years ago, i never would have thought that could ever happen except among close, tolerant groups. Not a fight i could ever even hope to *wage* in the world at large. It's still a fight, but it's one with far more allies than i ever dreamed.
      Progress is real, and we just need to keep fighting for more.

    • @spate7207
      @spate7207 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@origami_dream I completely agree, it's where people in this generation have come to realise that ruling classes and governments aren't actually there to represent the people as a whole like we've all been told under democracy, but that there's a class non-alignment on major issues like wars, exploitation, and inequality. I say this generation because there's always fluctuation in the political climate and there was a much more established (maybe less socially conscious but nonetheless visible) left wing movement in the 20th century due to similarly radicalising events as we see today with the overturning of Roe v Wade, the genocide in Palestine, or the restriction of trans rights. It's a time where politician's agendas are the most transparent to us in our lifetimes, no matter where they say they sit on the political spectrum. It's profit before people when faced with a conflict like this, and an example of even left wing politicians selling out is here in Australia where our often seen as progressive party, the Greens, are still being protested for taking down their Palestine flag in one of the offices despite supporting pro Palestine rallies across the country! It's the kind of issue that (very similar to the anti war movement in Vietnam) desperately needs the spirit we see nowadays, and people should really harness that to pressure politicians into submission. Whilst I really don't think pushing for reforms will ever get many of our societal issues solved, it's far too convenient and cheap in the current system for exploitation/bigotry/cruelty to be fully abandoned, but its wonderful to see so many people coming to the realisation that governments have been selling a lie of these 'western ideals' like progression, rights, peace, and equality because clearly this doesn't hold up in foreign relations, let alone even inside those specific nations.

    I was “The Chazz” donation at 2:16:08 😅 I loved every single second of this stream! I teared up multiple times due to being so emotional at how amazing this community is. In a world where there is so much apathy towards the horrendous things happening in Palestine it was so heartwarming to see so many people come together for a good cause! Oh, and the Jacob egg moment was in the top 10 iconic Drawfee moments imo! 🤩 Love you all much- Free 🇵🇸!!!!! 🍉🕊️❤️

    I followed Drawfee on Twitch especially to watch this stream-- mind you I did so just before the stream, so I couldn't comment, but the reasoning for implementing that measure was a wise one, and made me feel more comfortable there knowing the chances of hate comments were minimised. Like many people, I feel powerless against the travesties being committed in Palestine, so it means a lot that you not only raised that money for the PCRF, but also gave us something positive to focus on: the fact that when we all come together, we can do some pretty amazing things.

    Thank you guys for using your platform the way you do ❤
    Remember everyone, there is ALWAYS something you can do. Even if you can't donate, or physically go out and engage in good ol' fashioned civil disobedience, or whatever, theres something you can do.
    Don't stop talking about Palestine, don't stop educating yourself and spreading awareness. Sign petitions, email government folks, etc. Follow people who are in the thick of it, journalists and citizens alike, and boost their voices. There's so much you can do.
    Sure, consider your mental health and don't burn yourself out, but consider also that the people in Palestine dont get that luxury :). From the river to the sea, end Israeli apartheid now❤
    And dont forget Yemen or The Congo either.

    I think charity streams might actually be the top tier drawfee content because stuff always goes so wrong so fast and the money is pouring in before anything can happen and it's the perfect breeding ground for excellent Bits and Japery (and of course. the charity itself and the awareness and education and morale boosting too)

    My first thought for Ice/Poison was the gross accumulated piles of ice/snow covered in road dirt and salt left behind after months of accumulation and ploughing in places that get cold enough winters that the snow doesn't ever fully go away between snowfalls and honestly Karina's drawing pretty much got that vibe...
