I remember watching my older brother play this game. For some reason, this game scared me and sadly, my brother passed away never beating it. I feel like now, as an adult, I can finish what he started despite what I saw him go through fighting bosses and getting lost in Mu and dying...a lot.
Take up that torch, brother! It's definitely worth it; very touching story line; especially between the lines. You'll probably cry, and given the conditions of the circumstance, I almost can for you. Beat it in his honor!
Hey i feel you, i'm a little brother who lost his big brother, i lost mine 4/25/19 and there were games we were supposed to complete together...well, i'm keeping the flame going, i have a long time before i meet the USMC Sgt. at the gates of Valhalla!!!
This level was so far ahead of it's time, and its still imo one of the most interesting puzzle-dungeons of all time... I flipped the fuck out when The Garden started to fall, may as well have been falling irl, it was so intense to my tiny childish mind xD
One of my favorite things about this song is the beginning. When you save your game in Dark Space. The Dark Space's music is "calm" relatively relaxing. I always remember when i was young and i load up my game as soon as I step outside of Dark Space i'm instantly reminded by the music that i'm 35,0000ft up in the air!! oh what a great game.
This is one of the greatest level ever designed for a RPG. Jumping down to the other side of the level, which affects the objects on the upper side, simply EPIC.
I played Illusion of Gaia while I was in the Navy on deployment. The entire soundtrack to this game is amazing but it was this song that got me through some hard times out there.
What i like about this song is whenever I leave darkspace i always imagined that Will would be freaked out to be reminded that he's 10,000ft up in the air and in some cases upside down. I just think the first 20 seconds really captures that
This is my favorite level because it just blows my mind. The whole design of having a backwards garden and the song adds a level of awesomeness like its saying:Look at this amazingly built place with this amazing technology.
ahh illusion of gaia reminds of a time long forgotten in the 90's..When I could play games not worry about life or school ahaha..Now days when I play them I worrie about life and keeping up with my studys in school..90's were epic but the 80's was cool to.
first time i played this game i was 3 or 4 years old...still blows my mind when i play it,awesome game. Games you have played as a little child are the best, you can´t remember everything, but you sure as hell know you saw it before ;)
This is one of those songs that gets me all excited and energetic and happy because it is just so awesom. I also love great wall of china theme, lily's theme the new world theme the ankor watt(in real life spelled:Angkor watt)
Favourite bit is 1:39 to 1:57. Man, good old days when you could just play video games all day without worrying about a thing like school, work or life lol.
This theme kinda gave me a sense of hypsiphobia. Like if I was at the same height as the sky garden, I was either going to fall and die, or get teleported to a place like this with monsters and nothing to fight them with, much less a life bar to stay alive with. o_O
@xXVegaxIoriXx You can get an SPC player and download the SPC soundtrack for this game and listen to it playback FOREVER. Its awesome I do it all the time with other great SNES game music. But yea this game is definitely underrated along with other old Enix SNES games like Brainlord and Soul Blazer.
I agree. I think this little part here could be longer before the loop and the whole song would be improved. A half repeat with second half finishing off with the instruments from the first part added would sound good, I think.

Go ahead. Fulfill your brother's legacy!

This is the song that pops in my head whenever I think about Lydian mode.
This is one of the greatest level ever designed for a RPG.
Jumping down to the other side of the level, which affects the objects on the upper side, simply EPIC.
This is probably my favorite dungeon from this game. The whole "walking on the ceiling" thing blew my mind at the time.
It's a pity that Yasuhiro Kawasaki hasn't made more adventure game soundtracks. He makes great battle and dungeon themes.

Such awesome music. I loved the enemies and puzzles in this level too; everything was just so kickass!
This is my favorite level because it just blows my mind.

BREATHTAKING 100%
I like this stage too, love the upside down garden. This games still rocks and hold a special place in my heart.
I beat the special boss from soul blazer in illusion of gaia.
Best fucking ending to this game ever
One of my all time favorite dungeons and dungeon-themes. :)
first time i played this game i was 3 or 4 years old...still blows my mind when i play it,awesome game. Games you have played as a little child are the best, you can´t remember everything, but you sure as hell know you saw it before ;)
All the stages great in their right, they are unique and amazing too.
My favorite theme.
WOOT!!
i loved this part.
such an underrated game
EPIC...loved to play the game back then...definitly one of the most underrated snes games ever...
I just typed in Illusion of Gaia MP3 on google. I went to the first option and downloaded all the songs to my computer.
This is one of those songs that gets me all excited and energetic and happy because it is just so awesom.
I also love great wall of china theme, lily's theme the new world theme the ankor watt(in real life spelled:Angkor watt)
I Love this track
Favourite bit is 1:39 to 1:57.
Man, good old days when you could just play video games all day without worrying about a thing like school, work or life lol.
This soundtrack needs to be remastered
o man this song is nostalgic for me i remenber the good days wen i playing that game thanks for the memories
love gaia. love all the themes especially this one. The stage where this music plays is a little aggravating.
love it
My FAVORITE level in the game, and at least one of my favorite songs.
Somebody's chasing you, ku ku ku...
1:29 empieza lo bueno
This would be a really awesome overworld theme for an RPG.
this track is my favorite out of this game
EPIC!
1:39 ♥
Tears of the Kingdom made me think of this.
God I love this theme! It sounds European kind of!
@piromaniac9999 You beat Metal Mantis too, sweet.
ah i really love exactly that part! haha
sadly that softer part is so short
This theme kinda gave me a sense of hypsiphobia. Like if I was at the same height as the sky garden, I was either going to fall and die, or get teleported to a place like this with monsters and nothing to fight them with, much less a life bar to stay alive with. o_O
I looooove on : 1:39 !!!!
@AxleCarp That and the Awesome Music ^_^
Game was on that next level shit! It really was though.. 👁️🗿
If you've ever played Soul Blazer, you'll get a surprise when you succeed.
Yasuhiro Kawasaki also scored the game Dokuro (Game Arts).
@vknong that is the best part man, wouldn't surprise me if it was everyone's favorite part :p
My second favorite theme in the game, behind only the Angkor Wat theme.
I love it !!!
where did you get it?
@xXVegaxIoriXx You can get an SPC player and download the SPC soundtrack for this game and listen to it playback FOREVER. Its awesome I do it all the time with other great SNES game music. @MrNunfister Yeah it's a Sqaure game, whoever said that you tell 'em.
Epic part starts @1:39
I agree. I think this little part here could be longer before the loop and the whole song would be improved. A half repeat with second half finishing off with the instruments from the first part added would sound good, I think.
Agree, that part ends too soon.
I have to agree with many of you. This was one awesome game. Time to fire up the Console Classix. It has been years since I've played it!

@AxleCarp yeah it somehow had elements of super mario galaxy in 1994 :)
One of the best games ever made. I even prefer over its successor Terranigma.
@Joker12332111 Exactly the same with me!
Did you ever get them all?
fucking sky temple.....I must have been there for 6 hours trying to figure out how to collect everything.......
It was underrated, really?
becoming a stalker of this composer!
