Having zero experience with what Illusion of Gaia is, seeing this was intruiging. What could the context be? The possibilities are never-ending!
Amazing, sums up the terror of Dark Gaia, and i love the drums and the Intro. Very well done!
I always felt robbed that 'its' scream was silent. But then I realized in horror that the little pod at the bottom has the same sprite as a soul. Dark Gaia's operating system used to be a person, didn't it? :(
I always wondered, why they didn't explain the living entity of the comet more in detail. It's a relict of a battle in the distant past, but it seemed to have a will of it's own...
@@Nimroth666 We learn in Angkor Wat that Earth was once in a highly futuristic state. That was when unkown scientists created Dark Gaia, from what we learn in the game it was supposed to be a recreation of god since it is able to create life in the form of demons.
Somehow things went haywire and Dark Gaia killed every human and animal on earth or turned them into monsters, than it left the planet. Over millenia it returned three more times and the same thing happened, the world Will and his friends lived in was the fifth time this would have happened but this time the mechanical goddess was destroyed when the chosen warrior of darkness and the chosen warrior of light together created the phoenix, the only thing that was able to damage Dark Gaia.
The darkness had sent two other warriors in the past, a man that the light of the comet turned into a grotesque form of itself named Shadow and the dark knight Freedan. Even though failed to stop Dark Gaia in their own life Will was able to take the form of his former lives.

I mean, Dark Gaia has a similar visual motif in Terranigma, where in its stomach there is a soul orb floating there.
Who knows? But it is implied that Dark Gaia draws power from the negative emotions and harmful, selfish desires of mankind - much like Dracula and Death do in Castlevania.

Actually, looking at Dark Gaia's visage it kind of reminds me of a Lovecraftian horror.
+Garry Cotton It reminds Jenova of FF7 too. It's basically the same kind of crap, an alien bastard which corrupt the DNA of living beings.
But hey at least it was cool, a comet from the dark unknown causing evolution to disrupt time everywhere it passed, the illusion of gaia had a hidden story that most people missed.
I loved the story line for this game, obviously when I played it as a kid I didn't understand everything but you appreciate it a bit more when your older lol

OmegaVideoGameGod Oh no, wasn't alien at all. The ancients built the damned thing as a weapon. Dark Gaia was totally a human invention.
Could do with an angelic choir during the drum-filled parts, but otherwise, this is a pretty amazing arrangement worthy of being in a remake of this game. Good stuff!

Dude. Is there any way I can download this? Cause this is awesome. One of the best tracks in the game, and for some reason there are like next to NO remixes or remasters of this track.

Pretty good remaster. The trumpets don't feel as strong though. But otherwise still good.

Duwang of the year Dark theme On I get that, I've even played it numerous times. The game does have better graphics than Zelda, I'll admit. It's just the title which is the only thing that put me off.
(Even though Zelda did come out first)
@Adrian's Ideas, I'll be honest, I love the legend of zelda and mario like anybody else but remember even Nintendo was inspired by other people as well.
