@MrWolfeyes2 Ahhh right, SNES was 16 bit, I'm thinking of PS1 which was 32 bit. For some reason I thought SNES was 32 in order to compete against the Sega's 16.
@CrimsonGuardJay I always interpreted the song as being written in 12/8, at which point they'd be quarter notes, but yes the timpani's the best part of the song, hands down.
@Usersunited The final boss? he is actually really easy. Just turn into liquid when the final boss is about to shoot a energy ball and you won't be harmed.
@@chadpeterson5698 I respectfully disagree. With the Mummy Queen, you can actively avoid the attacks with Will, Freedan, or Shadow. However, the only surefire way I've ever been able to beat those damn vamps is to completely disregard my own life and launch a relentless offensive, only pulling back after one has died. Even then, I only have like a 60-80% win rate at best.
@operationflux you sir, have just peaked my imagination... What IF this game were remade EXACTLY how the storyline was, but for a modern day console... I guess we can never know...
Personally Castoth and the vampires gave me more trouble.this boss isnt too hard once you get the pattern down: attack constantly to keep the bouncing blue balls away guard/block the plasma balls & know the right time to melt into the ground to avoid the laser. most of my troubles came from not knowing this as a kid & always getting hit by all her attacks
It's still quite epic. This is the fifth time Dark Gaia returned to earth but the first time the chosen of darkness and light are there to encounter it.
@@mikeymikesh Castoth is pretty much the first big road block, he does a ton of damage, those flames are really fast and if you're not fast enough the lasers he shoots or that crystal fire floating thing will end you. Viper has attacks that will hit you from afar and he does a ton of damage as well. Plus his eratic movement means he might fly into you damaging you with that. The vampires are horrifying, we all know why. The Sandfanger is pretty much easier cause most of the time he just dives through the sand, he still hits like a dump truck and I remember dying once against it in one playhtrough cause I seemingly ignored the little critters and was shot at from many ankles running into the boss trying to dodge that. Then we have the Mummy Queen who also does quite a lot of damage and has her invincible ghost form. The first form of Dark Gaia does not even move and you can easily dodge the fire balls. Once the machine body appears her laser does an insane amount of damage but besides that she is pretty easy unless it's your first time fighting her. You're pretty much right.
Dark Gaia was a little easy. Still when I was little I did have trouble with her the first few times. Why? I always thought I could get in one more hit before she fired that lazer. Plus, back then I didn't kill all the monsters and get those level ups
featuring one of the most pissed off Timpani players EVER.
Decades later, I still have this theme looping in my head. A true 32 bit masterpiece.
It's 16 bit tho

I'm extremely amazed at the creativity of this game's entire soundtrack. Purely impressed!
One of the best games ever made. Don't care what anyone says, I like this better than Terranigma.
They went so hard with the timpani in this game
this song was so exiting to hear at the same time fighting against the final boss!!
freedan disliked this vid he didn't fight dark gaia
Most epic loop transition ever.
2:10 onwards is absolutly awesome
Will's friends rooting for him and Kara. Go Will and Kara save the world beat the comet for us.
Never has a final battle been so easy, yet so epic.
Really this boss was far from easy but not the hardest either
@@chadpeterson5698 Look dark Gaia just traveled Billions of lightyears so she was a little tired, you'd be too!
Great music and also a great game
@CrimsonGuardJay I always interpreted the song as being written in 12/8, at which point they'd be quarter notes, but yes the timpani's the best part of the song, hands down.
This game needs to be prerelease for modern consoles!
@Usersunited The final boss? he is actually really easy.

@Commanderoko
yes Dracula and his wife were the toughest
It's not Dracula it's Jack this time. Anyways the Mummy Queen was MUCH harder

You would have to get the licensing, though. Really hope they give it to you because Illusion of Gaia was my childhood! :)
even though its not the best boss battle theme to other games i have played i still love this tune
Such an epic theme for such an easy boss.
It's still quite epic. This is the fifth time Dark Gaia returned to earth but the first time the chosen of darkness and light are there to encounter it.
@@nbHawkeye Well yeah, the music is still epic, and the boss fight is pretty fun too, it’s just also really easy.
@@mikeymikesh Compared to the nerve wrecking vampires yes.
@@nbHawkeyeor pretty much any of the other bosses, really. The only boss that’s easier is _maybe_ the sand fanger, and even that is frankly debatable.

I used to play this for my alarm ⏰
@Venerabela if that happend im pretty sure nerds across the globe would cry in sheer joy, this is my favourite childhood game :D
Oh yeah! The shit's hittin' the fan!
@HeartCoreHayley awesome! O_o I hope to see it someday! =D
Yeah, everyone who makes it to the end of the game doesnt suck, so we all managed to defeat him as soon as the music changed over.
I love this part, may be a little easy but gotta save the world from this evil comet.
@Venerabela
this is my goal as a video game designer!
@oshronosaurus You just have to let one monster in the rooms that give health live.
Well said, agree 100%

@lanevsky ay its just epic *-*
@TheLonePantheist yea the game is not hard, is kinda easy, you just have to think a little but the history, the music, the game style 10 points sir
@JenovaMember
Mhm, i agree, but i think the vampires were worse than the Queen.
Eeeeeeh NO I disagree with that completely
2:10
i love this game reminds me of zelda in a way
It was inspired by Zelda
Anybody got notes/ tabs for this?
vgmusic has the midi if you still need it
i though the last boss was a little...but idk i had trouble with the revision of mummy queen so...lol
The Mummy Queen is the most annoying boss in the game
@Venerabela
:p tbh i would love to do an 18 bit pixel sequel, not the realism of todays ps3's
phuckin epic brah
Haha, definitely will! :)
it was a little easy was what i meant to say
sounds a little like dbz gt final bout music
Compared to all the other bosses of the game, this wasn't all that tough. The Firebird special power saw to that.
The Mummy Queen was the hardest boss in this game
@@chadpeterson5698 the vampires and solid arm are the hardest bosses in this game.
Could use more spontaneous golden hair.
Rereleased
Try beating it on a 4 life run.
MUHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
