Available in Australia 🇦🇺 by any chance? A maxi scooter with some gravel road capability would do very well down under. It’s the sort of bike that’s very good for commuting, good wind, rain protection with the screen. Knobbies for better grip on the gravel?

Scooters are also constantly jacked in the uk compared to adventure bikes, although I assume insurance will be a bit cheaper.
Its cheaper than the africa twin with dct , it has better weather protection , comfier seat and position , and easier to ride in rough terrain for a newcomer of course it lacks on everything a proper motorcycle provides and the additional power.

Ignore the off-road stuff. It’s a convenient, practical long distance commuter/tourer. I’m a recent scooter convert after getting an xmax 300 for commuting. Is it as fun as my KTM 790 Adventure R? No. Can it go where my KTM 790 Adventure R can go? No. Do I find myself now using the XMax more? Yes. Unless I’m going on an off-road tour or want to push it in twisty’s I find the scooter far more practical. This is when for 20 years of riding I’ve refused to own a scooter. Bikes may be lighter or faster but that’s not the point and not the market it’s aiming for.

The handlebars on adventure bikes glide over most car mirrors making splitting easy, high torque engines for easy highway cruising and rush hour urban warfare. Those off road pegs allow your knees to get low enough to grab the bodywork just behind the step through. Honda dealers in the US will never carry it because it looks too scooterish.

This is the perfect motorcycle in the Philippines specially with the rules of LTO in our country they banned also after market pipes for liter bikes they will arrest you no matter who you are as long as your bike will not pass the decibel test
Plastic, Windscreen, Trunk. Look at the NC750X about 230kg ( same engine as X-ADV, same chassis , trunk at the oil tank place , the oil tank is below the rear seat). And the MT09 have a very bad chassis. Suspension are too soft. My CB500F is also 193kg with an engine nearly half the size of the MT09. But the chassis, wheels of my 471cc is sized for a 600cc. The Z650, SV650 have a 160 wheel like my CB. The MT09 have a very short back , that means a very short back-end chassis => less weight. There are so mush factor impacting the weight !
MT is a naked bike, of course it will be lighter. Why scooter is heavy? Because they're designed not for pure performance, but for comfort and practicality

It is 519 pounds. It weighs more than the Africa Twin. The nc750 was already the most boring bike on the market. Now it is the most boring bike with crashbars on the market.
