- Liz Kettle discovered a great new product for creating image transfers on fabric and paper. You can find the written tutorial with step by step photos at www.artisticart... under tutorials.
thiis.. iiisss AAWWWWEEESSOOOMMMEEE. What an alternative to screen printing! I never knew this existed! Thank you so much for explaining everything so well!!!
Thanks for the tip! Got TAP through Amazon (cheapest price I could find) a few weeks ago, and it is fabulous! Love how it looks on fabric...almost like antique wallpaper...hard to describe. Just wish it would work on dark fabrics. Will be using it again, and it sure is easy to use also! Thanks again! Love your videos! Stacy (aka GothicGourdGirl)
Hey there GGG!
I just saw this message. The fabric/transfer is water resistant and can survive a trip through the washer but it isn't really meant to be washable. The matte medium gets a bit tacky again when wet. For a washable transfer I usually use Transfer Artist Paper.

Very cool idea Caroline! I can see some experimenting in my studio this summer!!

Great idea Liz!
Hi! Love this way of transfer! I am a silk screener, but good to find other techniques. One question, and I am thinking this is a no....is the fabric washable??? Is there a way to do a transfer like this, or the others I have heard (wax paper, citra-sol) that is washable afterwards? I am trying to make handbags with images...HARD to screenprint due to shape/fabric...??
Can I use this on soaps?? So I need a printer??
Hi. Can you use this process on candles as you would on clay?
im gonna try thanxx im gonna use spray bottle and not peel if possible
You can do something similar to this by painting, or stencilling your image, as long as you coat the Solvy with a coat of medium first. Once you have finished painting and the paint is totally dry, the Solvy is washed away and you are left with a transparent image that resembles stained glass, particularly if you use glass paints, or acrylics thinned with medium, not water.
Thanks for showing!
