Jere - I made a similar guide from Delrin years ago, but as you know, it's kind of expensive, and relatively slow to machine. The plywood disc won't last forever, but it may last longer than I do!
Trophy trophy . Thank you for all the years of knowledge. I still have one of your books I bought back in the mid 90’s . I was looking tonight to make smaller small screw dimple dies and found you making this and now I have both the a way to make a custom air cleaner top and some custom dimple dies for some bolts and screws. Thank you Anthony
Trophy trophy. Thank you Ron for yet another outstanding explanation of techniques. You truly are a master of your craft and make it look easy. Thank you.
Trophy trophy, another brilliant informative video Ron,I always learn something new or get inspired to try different techniques after watching. Thank you.
Again an amazing video mr. Covell. Better yet two videos in a week! It's a joy to watch you create these sculptures so effortlessly. Simple yet effective techniques make for a both simple and elegent endproduct. Thank you for sharing. Greetings from the Netherlands, Mark
This came out fantastic! Even after you had traced the second line against the pattern it looked chaotic. But when you completed the loops it looks so graceful. I learn something from you with every video. Thank you Ron!
I really like how your layers have a simple elegance but require so much craftsmanship to create. Very well done. Happy to have found your channel through Paul’s.
Thanks so much, Deena. I first thought I'd make a freehand pattern of embossed lines, but after doing a couple of trials, I just couldn't get the beginning and end of a loopy line to meet properly, so that led me to a 'regular' repeating pattern.
Trophy Trophy... Love your videos . I think I might try to make a few pot lids that are missing using my lathe with aluminum & this technique . just for the heck of it
This TROPHY TROPHY collaboration is coming along swimmingly. Love watching the two of you and your craftsmanship. You both make it look so easy, truly profected your skills. ~Smile oN
Nice, I actually caught a video 30 minutes after posting.... Can't wait to see what you have planned for this layer. So excited about this collab... Super excited to see the finished product as well. 😊❤
@@RonCovell - You're Very Welcome..... I really liked how you did the pattern, its looking more and more like a cake w/ every layer. I commented on Paul's video about how I'd like to see some tempered colors on some of the layers.... That would bring a beautiful color to the pattern without the need for paints and it would never need touched up so it would last a lot longer. 😁👍❤️
Trophy trophy. What a great project. I just finished watching your video on tge bomber seat and plan on building 2 form my current project car. Thanks for all the great tips
@@RonCovell yes , looking forwards to seeing the finished article.A great collaboration , interesting to see how things go when creativity is unleashed.
Super nice Ron, the pattern almost looks like frosting on a cake. I’m going to have to think about how you got the pattern to line up around three rotations, maybe I need another coffee.
Joe - thanks for the nice comment. A couple of people have pointed out that the way my lines overlap is analogous to the waveform for 3-phase electrical current. Three identical waveforms, each one out of phase 120-degrees.
You are a national treasure. Thanks for sharing your hard earned knowledge.
Wow, thank you!
here, here
Trophy Trophy! Ron, Greetings from your fan in Canada, eh?
Thanks so much, Paul - but YOU CAN'T be in the raffle! It would make a LOT of people angry if you or I won!

Using plywood as a guide for finishing the bead. Brilliant.

Making dreams and memories in sheetmetal. 👍
You have a way with words!
One of the layers needs to be a Royal Dansk tin complete with sewing supplies.
Hey, that was a missed opportunity for one of the lower layers!
Super nice Ron, the pattern almost looks like frosting on a cake. I’m going to have to think about how you got the pattern to line up around three rotations, maybe I need another coffee.

Wonderful skills, do you have any videos on making spheres? I think that'd be very interesting.
Well, not a sphere exactly - but the tip of the 'F-Bomb' is pretty close:

Brilliant.
