Made friendship that last long time. I’m 25 and my skating days started when I was a junior in high school (2012) and man til this day when we’re on that floor and music is moving within our soul and we all just groovy on that floor. I met the love of my life at a roller rink in Boston in 79 , sadly she passed away but gave me a good son to remember her by . Those were fun days when Disco ruled the airwaves
they sure were i wish meany times i could go back to roller skating to disco at the roller rink out here in san diego we only have one very small rink left so sad old is good school so sorry about your wife bless you hugs

Being an engineer on the railroad (Baltimore & Ohio) I would skate at home and at the town I would take my train to. I kept a pair of skates in my locker at the away from home terminal. I ran the wheels off my train to be able to get to the rink on time and strap on my skates.
You haven't seen a guy from the NJ/Philly area named Tex. He passed away some years ago but he could do those one-leg toe spins on either leg in both directions clean and long.

However, I was born and bred in Skate World in St. Louis, Mo. We have a outdoor skate rink in the park. Forrest Park with a very large zoo. It is almost a replica of Balboa a Park. The skating rink transformed into an ice skating rink in the winter. That would be a fierce protest if they took the rinks out of St. Louis, Mo. I live in San Diego now. And I am willing to help save Skate World.💪🏾

They were from SL, and we had a 1day layover before flying from SL to Germany. Balboa park use to be overrun with skaters. There were skate rental places all up and down 5th and Laurel.. City got mad... I was part of team hired by rental owners to form Balboa Park Skate Patrol... it lasted 2 more years about 1979... From then on skating was banned throughout Balboa. We use to jam in the Organ Pavilion 24/7... Thanks for bringing back old memories... Peace to you
