Misha, the Greatest Dancer ever.
There is nothing In this world like him. How extrodinary ..
Yes!!!!! He's!!!!!!!!!!
In another way Fred Astaire achieves a kind of aerial perfection.
@@Methilde interesting, Misha has cited Fred as a dancer he admires
@@valmacclinchy I've had the chance to see him, in Paris a long time ago, dancing modern style solos alone, his company was stuck cause of an airplanes strike, a pure enchantment.
I can't get enough of Baryshnikov - he's an inspiration.
No such thing as too much Misha! He is always one with the music.
Just breath taking. His ability to express.....so utterly complete...
Incomparable!!
What a handsome good looking man he is I would Love too dance with him !! He’s the greatest nobody ever came close to him when it comes to dancing nobody!!!
I was a member of the Detroit Chamber Ballet 🩰 Society in the 1980's, which was a Russian Ballet 🩰 Troupe whose teachers were former members of the New York City Ballet 🩰, Mr. Louie Ravenal n Ms. Lorna Simmonds, who were married at one time. They taught me for 6 years n our most beloved dancers were Mikhail Baryshnikov and Natalia Makarova!!! Misha is the quintessential classical dancer who combined jazz, blues, classical music n old standards together to make up this ab fab version of "One More For The Road"". He captured Frank Sinatra's ease and style to the ultimate essence, n no one could ever be so simplistic n so complicated all at once!!! Much Love 💕 to both Sinatra and Misha!!!!
The sublime has no rival. Misha makes the performance look effortless. If I had another chance to see Mikhail perform modern dance it would become a dream larger than life!
He doesn't jump. He flies, weightlessly
Haha love the applause when he first takes off the jacket! And of course the divinely smooth dancing..
Superb as always....one of the greatest dancers ever to grace a stage...
He is An Amazing Dancer and Beautyful soul 💌.
One for my baby.
One more for the road
and one more for Misha!!
I saw him perform this in Buenos Aires at Teatro Colón. His work with Twyla Tharp was one of the greatest collaborations during is dancing career. I thought he would not be able to de-structure his ballet training for what Twyla needed from him. The transformation was mind blowing. I had watched nearly all Twyla had choreographed for her Company (VHS days). To me it is the most fascinating body work I had seen in my whole life. Push Comes to Shove is superb. I saw the movie of The Catherine Wheel. Astonishing. She saw into the future! The disintegration of the family unit, now standard practice! A Genius. Both Baryshnikov and Twyla showed the world what was coming. 1981!!! ♥️
Such a brilliant combination of Mischa’s control and Tharp’s loose, casual, swinging moves that actually require equal control & mastery. Thanks for this!
Wonderful!
Greatest dancer I've ever seen. Thank you so much for this.
Man... He is GLIDING!
Everything about this video seems purely golden. The precision, the expression, the music, the original quality of sound and video, and the _artistry_
The best💟
Sublime
Makes it look so effortless ::sigh:: 😍

МИША СПАСИБО
Maravilloso todo lo que hace.
ГЕНИЙ ДЯДЯ МИША. СПАСИБО
No one like him 👏👏👏
With the slow tempo of that song it had to be hard for him to choreograph to it!
it was actually choreographed by Twyla Tharp.
I will play this every day until i can walk again.
Jacquim margeaux Fontaine there calling this❤
I love how he makes dance seem so effortless. It's not.
Yes, but it was at the Wang Center, not the opera house but sponsored by the Opera Company leader, Sarah Caldwell..
She did dance this at the Opera House as part of the event also, but this recording was made at her tribute at the Wang.
Thanks. I saw her at the Opera House and at a reception there after the performance. I stood about 5' away from her in total awestruck silence.
@@Marta44339 I co-produced that event so you were probably also standing about 5 feet away from your truly also!
@@esquirejauchem7532 That is so cool to know 30+ years later! I did take note of your title under your photo. It would be thrilling to see the Apollo if you can possibly post it. Thank you again.
the best in the world even better than
Noureev ....
"На вкус и цвет - товарищей нет!"
РУДОЛЬФ НУРЕЕВ -" сам танец" (Марго Фонтейн), вот его,действительно, никто не превзошел, все ему подражают, все его копируют и он своим гениальным талантом вдохновил многих танцовщиков мира на творческую высоту, не зря его помнят до сих, им не перестают восхищаться и преклоняться перед ним и испытывают к нему глубокое почтение,потому что он прошёл через тернии к звёздам, это уже на века, он вошел в историю.
Noureev??? He can't match Baryshnikov's ankle
MISHA the BEST
Mishap one great dancer 💃🏻
Was this event in 1987 or so at the Boston Opera House?
Yes it was.
@@esquirejauchem7532 Thanks. I was there one of the nights. If I'm not mixing it up, did Baryshnikov also dance Apollo at one of those events, and Plisetskaya The Dying Swan.
@@Marta44339 Yes, I have a recording of Apollo also, it may be too long for TH-cam. I will try to post it.
@@esquirejauchem7532 I apologize for joining the dialogue, but were you able to publish Apollo and possibly other parts of this event?
Да 70е Мишке не дали бы это изобразить а так достиг многого

Twyla Tharp - most over-rated choreographer ever. Hate it.
She doesn't think much of you either.
+Esquire Jauchem That's nice.
I saw her BACH PARTITA in New York performed by ABT( with Polina Semionova and Marcelo Gomes, too ). A lone violinist who was so accomplished that he alone set the David Koch on fire. Fantastic choreography? I was convinced that evening.
Love his dancing but I didn’t care for the choreography either.
