I've seen an interview with Neil once where he was asked if they get tired playing their old songs over and over again for years. He said of course, like every band. But, he added, if he went to a show from one of his favorite bands, he would want to hear his old favorites too, and not half-assed but giving 100%. So for him, it's not a matter of what Clutch wants to play, but what the fans want to hear.
This is precisely the kind of attitude that makes Clutch one of the best live bands on the planet, period. That statement is honest, reflective, yet shows what's most important to the band: giving the fans a great show, every single time. And it shows, anyone who's ever been lucky enough to see them live knows that me calling them one of the greatest live bands on the planet isn't just a fan talking, but an objective fact.
best live show I've ever seen
They’re awesome live....still. They sell out every single show. Every show. Still. That’s saying something. I’ve been a fan for over twenty years and they’re still amazing. I had the pleasure of bringing my now grown sons to a Clutch show a couple of years ago and we got to be right up at the stage. It was so awesome!! My boys grew up listening to Clutch and now continue on being fans on their own. We had a blast! Amazing live!!

"If you're gonna to do it, do it live on stage, or don't do it at all."
@@SixteenJacobsCreams Best? It'll only gets better from here.
Love the fact they are minimal equipment and they are gettin it done. Killing it.
Oh absolutely! Those are my favourite sort of gigs. When the band has just the basic minimum backline and doesn't need to rely on a large stage production and let's the music do the talking!
Fucking right they are! Awesome 👍
its all u need when ur good
Clutchkicks phänomenal lifeband
Neil Fallon is the MAN. The most underrated rock band for the last twenty odd years. The only band in existence that actually gets better the longer they keep making music, I've seen them live quite a few times and they never ever disappoint, incredibly consistent and so fucking good. How can a band be this good for so long?
Passion. Dedication. Hard work. Love for music. God given talent.
Sorry TOOL but these guys kick your ass live
@@christianvannelson6012 hard work and passion is the factor.
Took the words out of my mouth greatest big band to ever stay small
Underrated by whom?
It is so funny watching all those black/death metal fans rocking to Clutch. One cannot simply resist their absolutely incredible music.
Badass rock knows no genre!
I attended this very concert. I'm not into metal but wanted to experience Wacken. This was the best band of the whole festival by far. First there weren't that many people in front of the stage but the space filled within half an hours. When I left the venue on Sunday evening I gave a die-hard metalhead a ride. We chatted about all the bands we had listened to. Then than guy went "Man, were you at the Clutch gig? That was brilliant, clearly the best one!"
Clutch has some very metal songs too. Spacegrass is stoner metal
It's the groove dude
Their music is incredible, they're unbelievably tight. I don't know who the guitarist is but he rocks!
Currently....... America's greatest rock band and it hasn't been close for a long time!
I must give you an AMEN for that.
AMEN
Well...Actually that would be Corrosion of Conformity but Clutch is equally great Rock on fuckers
Things are not going too well in America, as the past year confirmed. So, it started with Clutch, huh...
@@gnargnarbobo6133 That's funny because Pepper's favorite band is Clutch. Lol.
WOW, where have I been. 64 years old and I think I just woke up my neighbors. Hope they like CLUTCH !!!
Yeah, turn 54 next month and discovered them about 6 months ago. Cypress grove girl myself!
I wanna be your neighbor!
Did the same here in Poland ... only ... my neighbors are 1,5 mile away ... baaahahahaaaaa
54 year old German dude ...
Rock on you old fuxxs !
yup....me too....metalhead my whole life....2 weeks ago discovered electric worry, its been a deep five ever-since and the wife and kids hate me...oh well
So cool to hear about new gearheads awakening to the almighty Clutch. I've followed them since the beginning and they've never let me down. I couldn't imagine just discovering them with the classic backlog to dig into. Pick any album and prepare for Pure Rock Fury! Best band going.
How the Hell have these guys managed to stay under the main stream is Beyond me, Awesome band!!!!!!
chaotic/Silence look into it, you will find out they stay mostly smaller venues to be closer to the fan base
They had a couple hits. Electric Worry and their 101 song.
they had major label offerings but turned them down. and now they are slowly becoming legends while the industry says that they are too old. and in 10 years or so, they get the offering for the rock&roll hall of ame. that business is seriously fucked up.
rock of ame?
clutch rules!!!
The most underrated band on the planet
Neal walks on stage, loops his mic chord, adjusts his pants so he can dance the good time dance and shit goes down. He has to be the only guy who can pull off a cowbell solo and look cool doing it...
It's called a gogo beat, and it's a DC thing.
It's like the bluesy groove of ZZ Top meets spaced out fuzz of Monster Magnet. They play tight and groovy with a singer who brings the bravado and fun...Great band for sure!
I've been playing drums since I was about 6. I'm 55 now. Played a ton of music in a lot of places. This is probably the best rock band I have ever seen.
Local too
These guys are so non descript in appearance but have such a unique sound. Just too awesome.
Because fashion in metal is stupid.
I am convinced that Jon Paul Gaster has perfected the art of playing drums. He never misses a beat, he has the absolute perfect dynamic for the songs he writes and plays, and he seems to do it all so effortlessly, it really shows that he is focused and very very technnical! One of my favorite drummers, easily top 10, maybe even 5!
Seriously... he is not a drummer..he is a force of nature...how I feel about the whole band,actually..xo
True
Three words for you, Jean-Paul Gaster. He lays down the fattest grooves in groovedom!
Tbone Hahn I could listen to him play all day man! Smooth as silk technique.
Absolutely, man. Jean-Paul "The Master" Gaster.
psst... that's 8 words.
The less he has to hit, the more he grooves. Shames most drummers.
He's a God.
seen them over 40 times and counting.....
Way ta go Sean!!
I'm totally jealous. I've seen them a handful of times. I bet all 40 of the shows you saw were just smokin'. My fave band!
Sean Paddison I'm jelly. They came to Finland a couple years back but I was in the army, so that chance went bust. They were at Tuska festival this year but I had no chance or will to partake in a festival.
Jean-Paul Gaster is a beast on the drums!
Agreed:) JP is just ridiculously excellent.
Zib187 a great player

Back in 2011 me and my girl were huge Volbeat fans. Volbeat came on tour in Germany, so I ordered two tickets for their show in Munich. There was a band named "Clutch" opening for them on that tour which I never heard of.
Checked the youtube search and instantly got hooked on them by "the mob goes wild" and "electic worry"
End of story:
I came for Volbeat and left as huge Clutch enthusiast and so did my girl. The Volbeat albums put on a lot of dust in my record collection since then, whereas Clutch is hammering out of the speakers regurlarly.
Absolutely great band...period!
And yes...listening to Clutch makes your beard to grow more fast^^
RMA's Amateur Footage good. Cause volbeat is hot garbage.
Brendan McDonald wtf volbeat is so good imo
as it should
Brendan McDonald I don't disagree but was that really a necessary comment?
Volbeat only has two good songs
One of the few bands that sounds even better live than they do on the Record!! Also an evening with Clutch is still my favorite live show I’ve ever seen!!
ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY CLUTCH!!!
One of the best live bands around. These guys are a well oiled and maintained machine of rock.
Clutch, pure musical genius that has never got the credit deserved.
I officially declare clutch the saviors of rock and roll !!
When they were on tour for there first album in the early 90's my brother worked for a small cable company in Georgia. He had a weekly video show called "night of the living videos". He interviewed Clutch outside the station. He said they kept throwing lady fingers (the fire crackers, not actual lady fingers) at the camera, much to the annoyance of my brother because they were right next to a police station, in Georgia mind you, and they were all Yankees. They gave him a promo copy of there first album on tape which my brother game to me. It had an alternative cover on it. It had a toy monkey with cymbals, instead of the lamp cover. Wish I still had it. Thanks bro for introducing me to the best rock band on earth! R.I.P.
Not actually Yankees, but in the North they call us rebels, in the South they call us Yankees...
@@thehaprust6312 my high school was called the rebels, and ive seen other high schools or schools forced to change their name from rebels to something else.. yet we still have the MLB yankees. hmm
@@thehaprust6312 I'm from Ceciltucky and moved to North Carolina almost 20 years ago...they call me a damn yankee cuz I bought land, pitched my tent, went native redneck on 'em...hated by many, loved by few...and I like it...there's a song in there...
My deepest and most sincere condolences, what happened to your brother if that's a not too personal question to ask!!!
I think my beard just grew another inch or two .
Ha HAAA
I think my inch or two just grew a new beard!!
;^}
Shruggz Da Str8-Faced Clown 😆
Neil fallon is such a good frontman holy shit
Rafael Hannah - He is the rock and roll preacher.
First time checking em, yeah his voice is amazing, bit like Danzig and Ian Astbury with a touch of James Hetfield imho
The best.
Neil is the best in the business.
What you need, you know he's got
Been rocking to this band for a decade and finally got tickets to see them!! 5/2/2023 Senator Theater Chico, Ca. Hell F'n yeah!!
I was very disappointed ☹️
I was very disappointed ☹️
so i put this on as backround music while i surfed the web and whatnot, never did open that second window. watched every second of this awesome display!
these guys are amazing. true masters of their craft. hands up who wants to rock!
Burning Beard will forever be one of the most epic songs to perform live.
"Swan diving off the tongues of crippled giants. International Business Machine." also one of my favorite Clutch lyrics of all time.
Same 3 Dogs looking back at me.
Mine's from Cypress Grove. "Sheriff Jackson went out the back, Now his daughters all dress in black." Completely bad ass!!
Leonard Kowalski .....truth 😉
Robot Hive / Exodus is probably my favorite album. Every track is amazing.
best band ever
DEREK CUTHBERTSON yes they are so
their work ethic is supreme. i saw them in toronto in 2011, and despite multiple-member illness, they were spot-on, and played a wall-to-wall set. that will always stick out in my mind... Clutch are heavyweights.
your rite man roll on Donington they should be headliners
Dave A lol I saw them open for themselves once too and they played a 3 hr opening set!! then a 2 hr clutch set! wow
It's called The Bakerton Group my friend, look in to it, you'll dig it!
Clutch is just wonderful. 4 guys who are masters at what they do. I just love this band.
Yes, they are.
you simply cannot hate this band !
Absolutely:) My fave band and they just always deliver.
Dude, I'm not even trying.
It’s actually quite easy.
@@Killerklownsfromouterspace Losing hope in you
Justin Bieber does ... lol
I am constantly amazed at Neil Fallon. these arent easy songs on the throat and he brings the energy every time
He IS a professional...
I think it's fucking fantastic that they were invited to Wacken. Much-deserved, a truly great band. I love seeing bands with Blues-ier sets getting this kind of reception!!
Neil Fallon = 1 of the most powerful voices in all of music period!!!! This band is sooooooo under rated!!!
I wish I had this guy's voice. It's so... manly!
His voice made my beard grow like 1/4 inch in a matter of seconds.
Everytime I bang my lady i scream "i'm a sucker for the witch!!!"
He is the blackest sounding white guy ive ever heard. PERFECT for funk rock.
I have ... lots of Jacky and Marlboros !
Hell yea his voice is like a cross between a dragon and a nuclear explosion!
Must have more appreciation for that drummer.
He's easily holding together what would otherwise be total chaos.
Tasty playing.
I came across Clutch only about 5 years ago... They are my favorite band of maybe all time time.
They are incredible.
Aside from the crazier songs man.. Son of Virginia gives me chills in a good way!
So cool to see all these fine young metal kids getting a masterclass here.
Holy shit....that's a hell of a setlist.
Still the best live band I have ever seen. No need for posturing on speaker boxes, hot topic outfits, stage diving, or bringing fans onstage. Just straight up Kick your ass rock. That's Clutch.
favorite drummer
I'm a sucker for CLUTCH!! I am obsessed 😍 🎼🤩
I was there waving the Maryland flag proud for Clutch
What an absolute Great Band !!!
This is pure rock ! This is music !
Can not wait for their next album . . .
I'm from Brazil and I admire CLUTCH songs Jean Paul is the king of drums 🥁 1,000,000 Views
Intelligence, talent, and a shit ton hard work is Clutch! Been in love with this band for 20+ years n lookin forward to 20 more!
What a voice!!! What a band!!! CLUTCH....THE BEST. J P love you brother.
I have seen these guys play 4 times so far.. One of the tightest live bands ever.. I am a fan for life..
yes, the best modern dad rock band. even better that they all look like dads.
I remember first time i saw these guys live. I had just come back from a vacation in the US where i picked up elephant riders, and then they came to a really small club in Oslo Norway. From then i saw every live show i could with them !
Clutch went to Wacken with cowbells and slide guitars and still rocked the place like nobody's business
This is a really, REALLY solid set from Clutch. Among their best performances filmed. Clutch slays!
the voice......
A good day when youtubes puts live Clutch in my recommended.. Have only seen these guys 4 times so far.. Need to again eventually..
I play Clutch everywhere! Introdused it to my friends! They fell in love from the first song! :)
Neil Fallon is a rock and roll outlaw.
The only clutch that never needs replacing...… One word: G R O O V E! Currently wasting gas to BLAST TYRANT!
What is it about GROVE??? I think I like the woman n her shotgun. I'm female ☠
I love this band. Been jamming to them for years. Tight rhythim with a great flow and killer lyrics. Saw them at the Ogden in Denver 2 years ago. Still one of my favorite live shows....
Now that Motörhead is gone
These guys are my main band!!!!
Bob Maze i saw them together in 2011.
@@dancingbear614 me too! In Charlotte NC
Holy crap My Brother and I were at that show,, shit, I hadn’t heard of Clutch before,, the Charlotte show was great Motörhead was bad ass as well,, small world brother
Fuck yea ...i saw Clutch at the 9:30 club back in 2013 and liked them sooooooooooooooo MUCH i then became cognizant of the fact that these awesOME fucking dudes were going to be playing in Charlottesville Va. in February of 2014 so i fucking went down there you know !!
Valerie Pickett Got ya beat. Saw them live back in 93, before they changed their sound, and they were young, angry, and a beast! Those first 2 albums live were unbelievable.
Per an earlier post, I think I saw them on the same tour. Thought it had been '93 but you're probably correct. Was that the tour with FF and original lineup Sepultura?
Duke Togo - Pitchokey666 that's the truth man! They have been killing it for a long time!
Love coming back to watch this every so often. 17 tracks of pure brilliant heavy metal, I wish half the bands I’ve seen live were as good as this…….
21:25 look at these kids down the left fucking rocking in Wacken with an amazing rock band! I wanna reach out to their parents and say, what a fucking amazing parenting you guys do! These kids gonna grow up listening to the best musics out there.
One of them is also at the end at 1:05:35
Wow. Outstanding
@@JasonPeltier Nice!
love it when folks go through the effect to link the times for each some. nice job.
When Neil Fallon points at the crowd, you had better be rocking out.
When I was stationed in Fort Bragg saw them at a little Rock bar called the Flaming Mug in the 90's . Them performing Spacegrass still one of my most remembered performance and I have been to more concerts than I can remember. The most underrated band by Far!!
I've been listening to these guys since 93
Man i love these guys. Discovered them about 5 years ago and damn glad i did! "Son of Virginia" particularly kicks my butt. Can't get enough of these guys.
Always a great time to hear Clutch!
Seen Clutch twice live now and it just gets better and better
I've seen them ten times, but only got to see gravel road and regulator performed in the same set one time. once. they played them b2b this set. fucking lucky bastards...
Hammer Stimme.
Klingt besser , als deine " upgraded sound " uploads !!!
Sorry ! - Aber das musste mal gesagt werden ! - 💥
Fan since, I literally can't remember. At least 17years. I have a set list from like 10 years ago signed by everyone, along with 2 CD's signed by Neil. And two more signed set lists. The best concert I went to was just them for almost 3 hours in PA.
Never ever a better time with anyone but CLUTCH!!! Rockin the gentleman since 95. Will until the day I die!!! God bless, Tim, Dan, Neil and John Paul!!!~
Never saw this video before. So damn good. Clutch fan since about '95. They get better and better with time. Nothing but love and respect for them.
Good morning friends, first of all I want to apologize for my English, I don't speak it and even less write it, but there is my appreciation of the band that we all love. Greetings from Peru..... "I just saw a series of concerts by this great band: CLUTCH, and I had a clear revelation. CLUTCH IS THE ROCK; They don't do Rock, they don't play Rock, they don't compose Rock ... they are THE ROCK ... I say this because, at this stage of life, they have managed to balance their roles within the band with extreme precision, that is to say: each one does what he should without detracting from the others.
Each allows his companions to express his vitality in the way and time they need, without pressure of any kind. Because of this it is possible for everyone in general to become the Frontman of the group at some point.
And something extremely important, which leads me to the first conclusion, is that you can do without them, yes, do without all the members, and get into the songs. It seems that they have become mere accessories or mediums whose function is to reveal the songs they have composed, with such vitality and dedication, and that they have taken on a life of their own for us, their audience.
They may or may not be on stage.
They could contort like haunted madwomen, like demonized possessors ... but they don't.
They could throw a thousand harangues, manage the audience at will and ask them to do any idiotic thing like raise their hands and clap together ... but they don't ...
They could use thousands of weird, ethereal or cutting edge effects ... but they don't need them ... they've managed to tame distortions, wha-wha and delay ... and it's more than enough ...
They do not need to make fuss of any kind such as destroying or burning guitars, spitting at the public, jumping or doing risky things ... IT IS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY, their music, THE ROCK, is everything ... it has taken on a life of its own ... and they keep total respect ...
We thank them that they do not wear weird, lavish or fashionable outfits, we thank them that they have not had facebook for a long time, we thank them that they do not worry about being hyperlinked or filling stadiums ... I feel (without fear of being wrong in the least) that their life, their profession, their food is Rock ... through them it survives ... because they are ROCK"
Clutch were introduced onto my Musical palate back in the mid-to-late 90's when their debut album Transnational Speedway League came out and they have steadily become more and more my favorite band with every single release they have blessed us with.
I'll be 50 in August and yet, unfortunately I have yet to get a chance to see this legendary outfit, Clutch, play live due to the fact of my being disabled from epilepsy and my paycheck doesn't ever seem to be enough for me to get some tickets for them whenever they are touring.
Only just discovered these guys. Amazing. love the sound. proper grass roots rock.
Any time I've had a few, this is a show I come back to and watch. Clutch is so, so good. Really the only band I can say that ALWAYS sounds better live than on album. I see them every time they come to town since a buddy turned me on to them, 7 or 8 times now.
Neil is brilliant of course. My friends and I call Tim 'Mole Man' due to his hunched over extreme focuses guitar playing,. JP is my next favorite drummer to the man Neil Peart. Dan Maines the underrated heart of the band. The man has been holding down the bassline for so many years and absolutely never fails.
One of my favorites, ever.
Great drummer!!
How am I only just discovering these guys? Love it!
Me too great bad heard of them but never give it a 🎶 till the first of this week been jamming it everyday since
Ich finds gut das in letzter Zeit so viele Full Shows hochgeladen werden

Clutch just doesn't know how to do anything but deliver. They deliver the goods every time and I love them for it:)
first time I ever heard or saw CLUTCH was in 92 for the elephant riders album and they were the opener on a bill with orange 9mm, Quicksand and Helmet and from the moment Neil opened his mouth his voice hit me like a train and I knew immediately this was special and 25 yrs later they still crush me live!!!
jonnyjib 92? Lol
Elephant Riders was 1998. Pitchfork was technically thier first album but it was only a few songs. Transnational Speedway was released in 93.
Rockville '22 at Daytona Speedway! They are all Masters of their craft! My head banging neck was sore for three days! Can't wait to see them again!
The first time I heard Clutch was blasting through speakers over the whine of a hydraulic press at work. The song was Rock n Roll Outlaw and Ive been a Gearhead ever since!🤘🏻
New fan here, since watching their whole set at Glen Helen before PRIMUS & TOOL they are great, I'm drinking the Kool Aid and like it.
2020 and back again, the more I listen the more I pick up their style.
Thank you clutch for letting me watch you work.
Neil fallon is my spirit animal
Great aggressive music. But I sure wish the bass had been mixed a little higher.
Love this band really would love to see them come AUSTRALIA Thanks so mch from The Land Down Under/
Clutch are brilliant. I’ve only recently discovered them.
Saw these guys at Rocklahoma, absolutely blew me away! Major kick ass RNR!
AWESOME!!! Respect!
Perfect show!!! Fell in love :) tnx!
It's like polished primal. Caveman with a snifter of cognac......convicts eating baluga caviar.....burning snow....550 lb supermodel. Makes perfect sense. Raw....yet refined...it's magical....I think. Mix was good, levels were off somewhat. Bass didn't cut thru but still very very enjoyable I'd say. Live and open is hard to get Im sure, mic'd and going thru the mains. Gbc. God Bless Clutch.
Absolutely the best description of their music. Well said. Noble savages indeed.
So there ya go..MUTHAFOCKERS....just like that.boom.
So funny, and dead on.
Add this to your list: Ph.D. but a Grove girl!!
Lucky enough to see them on Beale Street at the New Daisy. .... Great band no frills BS, just jam
Greatness yet again , thanks for posting
Clutch is a like a fine wine!
I hope one day to see em live, what an incredible voice and band!!!!!! I'd rock off so hard :D
