One classic and tested supplement to assist with cleaning of the arteries and bile ducts is lecithin. I just ordered some sunflower seed lecithin, as soy lecithin is mostly from genetically modified soy. There are other kinds of lecithin, also, I believe. But this was known back in the 70's. I used to get a publication that was excellent back then (it sold out to commercial interests in recent years) and it talked about lecithin all the time for cleaning up the arteries. It is a fat and cholesterol dissolver.

Try Turmeric. It actually keeps arteries clean AND removes the stuff already in there. Put a tablespoon in hot water or milk, add a little cinnamon and make sure you add a sprinkle of pepper to make the spice even more potent.

Hello Dr. Story. If you haven't already done so, you should research LINUS PAULING Vitamin C therapy as well as PLAQUE-X IV Therapy. Yes, exercise and eating well are always a good thing but for many who already have significant plaque buildup, it's unlikely that doing those will reverse plaque buildup.

Your welcome. I have read a few studies and seen videos on this. Google nhs study pomegranate juice and carotid artery disease. The most reliable study is the one by nhs government in the uk. You can also you tube benefits of pomegranate juice. Avoid sugary pomegranate juices from grocery stores. Go to health food store and buy juice but not concentrate. Get the real deal. Not sure where you live. Redbarn with pulp or without if sold out is a good brand. I live in ontario canada. Take a third of a cup daily. I take it in a smoothie daily along with Ceylon cinnamon, fresh ginger, banana, apple, tablespoon extra Virgin olive oil, raw farm egg, kefir, blueberries, black pepper, tumeric and a bit of water. This way you get everything in a morning boost. I read that the carotid artery is a good indicator of the amount of plaque in the other arteries. Not sure about this but makes sense that if plaque is deposited in one area it would be deposited similarly in other areas. Do the research and good luck with this. John

High LDLs aren't protective, but neither are they causal in the formation of plaque. I don't worry about LDL, and my CIMT shows that my plaque is reducing with what is considered high LDL. This is *consistent* with all metabolic evidence. Studies that are done only on subjects with inflamed intima media are absolutely irrelevant, because 100% of the population of the studies have the causal factor in place and LDL simply contributes to a higher rate of plaque formation.
You will not find a single study where the patients are screened for absence of inflammation, that shows any relationship between plaque formation and LDL levels.
LDL is just the material that composes plaque. *if* your intima media is inflamed, a higher LDL level will increase the rate of plaque accumulation . If the intima media isn't inflamed then plaque won't form regardless of how much LDL is present in the serum..
These are the facts. Start using facts and not intuition.
The fundamental problem here is that 93% of the population of homosapien is suffering from chronic fructose toxicity and therefore exhibit inflammation of the intima media.

What is your LDL? And what is your diet?

    • @homomorphic
      @homomorphic 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

@pyroliquid_ a year ago my LDL was 250 and my apob was 140 because I was in 4 to 5 mmol ketosis daily. My trig:HDL was about 1.8. That was peak.
About that time I began to consume a higher level of carbs (Up to around 70g per day now) and my LDL is now 112 and my apob is 110. My trig:HDL is now 1.1 (75 trig 70 HDL).
My diet is keto-lacto-ovo-vegetarian, but my daily ketones peak around 2 mmol now because of the higher carbs than a year ago.
I am a 60 yo Male taking no meds.
      BP: 100/70 (nominal)
      A1C: 4.9
      ALT: 16
      Fasting insulin: 2.9
      Fasting glucose: 76
O3:O6: 5.5% (current area of focus)
      VO2 Max: 64
Omega 3s are tricky because of my vegetarian diet, mostly because of the cost of algal oil supplementation which is currently at around $3/day and I am trying to be careful to not overspend on that.
I eat a lot of raw nuts (pecans, walnuts, macadamia, brazil) and raw seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, sesame ) so I get a fairly high level of O6, so I need to consume quite a lot of Omega-3 to balance that and there is no easy dietary source for a vegetarian other than eggs (I eat 4 eggs a day but that is only around 300mg of DHA/EPA)

Hi Dr. Story. Great content as usual. Please correct me where I may be wrong. I look at this issue from two different angles. One, why does plaque build up in arteries? And two, how can you possibly limit or clear such build up? Calcium just doesn't descide to deposit itself for no reason. I think of the calcium deposits as being a scab or scar tissue addressing inflamation. And so, limit the inflamation and limit the calcium build up. That's where the metabolic health issues come into play.
I just had my bloodtests done and came back with somewhat elevated LDL (128) , AopB (99) and A1C (5.9). The one of those three that bothered me most? The elevated A1C because that is an indication of where (root cause) inflamation can emanate from. Side note: my BP is "normal" as well as all of my other biomarkers. My thought is that if I don't give it a reason to deposit then I can keep my arteries clear.
The second part is how might one be able to remove or clear any existing build up? In dealing with virtually any health-related issue it always starts with diet and exercise. But to enance that I take a "standard dose" of vitamin D3+K2 along with 10,000 FUs of nattokinase/day. I'm getting a CAC scan in the near future (my first) and will hopefully be able to tell if any of this is effective.

From a natural body builder on TH-cam that I trust: Aim for one gram of protein per 1 lb of lean weight desired per day. I can say in practice that it results in traditionallly sized meat portions.
Adequate fat is about trying to get in enough fat soluble vitamins. There's nothing wrong with many animal based fats, which are saturated. Egg yolks hold most of the nutrients of an egg. Ideally people should eat the fat that comes with the lean. For the sake of calories I often do not, but a hamburger doesn't cause me to not sleep at night.
