My wife takes delivery of her GT Line S before Christmas. We both had a test drive and loved it. Went for the top spec because my wife needs the electronic boot. Swapping in her 5 year old Sportage GT Line S petrol that has done less than 17,000 miles. A good honest review. Thank you.
Compared to a Renault Scénic, this one is not much smaller, but 10K € cheaper. We'll definitely have a close look at it! By the way: phantastic landscape! Where have you been driving?
@@Reifenthaler I’ve a top Niro Hybrid. If I went to the Air I’d be actually going down several specs. The EV3 according to my dealer has put my car into negative equity. We’re waiting now to see if KIA put out a renewed package as they normally do in Dec to Feb and puts it in equity again. Apparently it’s something that even the Dealers have noted as the price at the top end then brings it into EV6 territory. And, as the dealerships now get fined for the low number of EV sales, this isn’t good.
Great review but did I hear you say the GT and GT S are 4x4 ..? 11:50 in video..? Unfortunately no four wheel drive available here in Switzerland yet in GT spec
Please Do Not mislead public as true range is vastly different to the claimed figures.!!! I test drove GT model twice moderately in town & motorway mixed in a moderate manner. Shocking discovery was that it gave only 3.2 kwh which equates to 245 miles range instead of 370 miles claimed !!! Wow, 130 mile short of the false inflated claim!! Acceleration is subdued too, noisy with 20" tyres and backseat accommodate only 2 adults.... Test drive it for at least 3 hours motorway and town to reveal poor 245 miles vs 370 miles range before part with your hard cash.
I think most people now understand that wltp claimed range is exactly that "claimed". Why most reviews will say that and in the real world it relies on the weather, driving style and other factors
@GadgetsBoy thanks, that's exactly what I am referring, wltp should have not mislead public and it is reviewer's responsibility to reflect on that and portray true figures so poor buyers wouldn't fall into this scandalous trap invitingly. With extortionate prices, exaggerated range and No incentives from UK government I wait till a) prices reflect true value of compact SUV cars hene around £22K or in couple of years buy it with third of price second hand, hence around 10K.
That range difference is quite a lot having had two Kia Ev’s to date and my first a Kia e Niro with a claimed range of 280 miles. I could get 300 plus in the summer and about 245 miles in the winter. My current car the Ev 6 GT LINE S rear drive the best I’ve had is 299 miles in the summer and a range of240 miles in the winter. On A roads if you drive sensible on motorways with the regen off you would be surprised how much range you can achieve. All I can say is a difference of 120 miles boy you must have a heavy right foot.
The KIA EV3 will not be available in Canada till Q1 2026 Can you please look into and post at what temperature the Heat Pump operates at and at what temperature it gets cold to use. We do get temperatures down to -30'C so I am hoping that an Electric heater would also be used to warm up the interior.
Great review, thanks 👍Just back from short test drive in a base model (Earth 2 in Ireland) and it was lovvvvvvly ! Drove the Soul EV down to the garage which gave me a great comparison with the EV3. It was very refined in comparison to the Soul ( which I still absolutely love after 3 years ).. suspension absorbs a lot more of the vibrations on a poor road surface. Interior is a large jump from the Soul - lovely material around the car - and this a bottom spec car, against my top-spec leather-seated Soul. Strongly thinking of mid-range 85kW car (Earth 3 here) … GT-line gets HUD and sunroof here - but not sure if my finances will stretch to it. Would be very happy with car that I drove today. Excellent. Elroq also looks great - but the VW/Skoda option packs are ridiculously overpriced. And it’s got no frunk. Major fail from me! Have a dog, so rear parcel shelf will be left in the garage. The cable holder not a runner in my case.
I really like this car. It’s a shame when you spec it up to the GTLine s it breaks through that £40k barrier , new 2025 car tax changes will affect this cars sales
@ from April 2025 all EVs are subject to road tax, anything over £40k value at new will be classed as a luxury vehicle, I believe it will be chargeable @ £490 per annum after the first year
Funny you mentioned as I thought about it as I drove. I think this is more refined. It has the Korean feel to it. But both great cars, the ev3 has better efficiency but the Elroq drives better
Great looking car and Kia have knocked this one out the park. What do you think?

Amazing, I hope it treats you well and you enjoy the car when it arrives. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too
I’ve driven one recently and I liked it. Problem is it’s quite pricey when you get to the GT Line S.
I hear it but vs the competition and what they offer for the same price, you’re still getting a better deal here

@@ianroper2812 I wouldn't go for the GT. The Air has all it takes for me.
I need neither an electric hatch nor big wheels. Keep it simple.

Any idea if other EU countries charge tax like that on electric cars?
@@GadgetsBoy not sure about other European countries, but in the UK the zero road tax for EVs will be no more after April 2025
@mdex1 yeh I heard but didn't know the confirmed details. We just get taking for a mug here
I love the car, only drawback for me is all that space up front. I would prefer to have a Full front/Centre Console.
Please Kia make this an option.
Ohhh it's already so spacious for the class you know haha
It is a nice car and be interested to see how you think it compares with the Škoda Elroq?

Test drove one today, didn't like it. Too soft and the exteriror styling is a bit akward. Way too much piano black. Has good range though.
It still has a long way to go compared with Tesla but it the best of the rest
