I know it’s been a minute but so with the vinyl cutter do you have to do each layer per color? Wouldn’t sublimation be the best since you can have a whole design with a bunch of colors on one piece? I know with dtf you can do that for sure but it’s expensive for someone starting out like me lol

I bought a $189.00 heat press off Amazon with a $21.99 protection plan for 3 years.If they can’t fix it which I’m sure they won’t even attempt it they’ll just replace it.Worth the extra change imo.I would say that’s the best way to go until the money rolls in and you can upgrade

The transfer paper method is great for images, whereas the vinyl is ideal for text.

Around 3k or so, but you could start smaller with a cheaper press and cutter for under 500-700.

For a newbie who knows nothing, what vinyl cutter and heat press that is budget friendly would you recommend other than the one from Fancier Studio on Amazon and is it better to purchase a swing away heat press or the straight press down one. (Hope I explained correctly). Thanks in advance!
The swing away will take up a bit more room if that's an issue, but there really isn't a huge difference.

Hey rich! Loving all your videos I just invested in a heat press and I’m looking to invest in a vinyl cutter plotter I’ve an idea which one I want to get but for starting of would you recommend the 28” inches cutter over the 14/15” inches?
Most T-shirt designs are only going to be 12” wide at most, so a 15” will be fine.
Rich, what were you doing to the letters before cutting? It appeared you were changing the font of each individual letter to change its look.
Also what program is that? It wasn’t MS word was it?

I am guessing the software is one that comes with the vinyl cutter. And you likely bought some sweet font packs online. As for the scrolling, it is a mystery. Heheh

Adobe Illustrator, I do buy fonts from creativemarket and envato. The change of each letter are called glyphs that comes with a lot of fonts.

So the vinyl cutter is also a printer?
No you place the color vinyl in the cutter and it cuts it. They have some that also print on vinyl but they’re really expensive

What cut/plot software do you use to print ? The software for my "uscutter" is Artcut2009. I can't find any other software that will print directly to the printer.

So, I just bought a heat press and I wanted to start off with just buying the designs off of Etsy for now but I had a few questions. With a heat press I can do vinyl and sublimation correct? I've read and watched videos where they have stated that with sublimation tshirts you need more lighter shirts and 30% or more polyester in the shirts but when using vinyl it doesn't matter the color? So sorry for all the questions!! I appreciate all the advice you can give!
No worries on the questions, but, you've done your homework and you're correct.
Vinyl can go on almost anything. You can also use dye sublimation on mugs as well if you already have the printer, you may want to look into a mug press in the future.

It depends on the fonts, not all of them have that feature with the extra add on's.
Quick question if you have the info to give. With the Silhouette cameo program im able to use registration marks , do these stand up vinyl cutter have that senser built in??
Not all 'stand up vinyl cutters' do, but majority, yes

He uses Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, many designers use those programs as well but there are some alternatives, you will need a program that usually comes with your vinyl cutter or whatever machine your using to send from your computer to the cutter.
