I started my voyage of that are-you-completely-out-of-your-mind-paying-400-bucks-for-a-keyboard-trip over 20 years ago. At a time when 400 bucks was as high as you could go, nearly, and "mechanical" was synonymous to "cherry".
What is this obsession about the sound when hammering down the keys?
The distinguishing advantage of switches is engagement half the travel down and a corresponding (tactile) feedback, allowing not to bottom out (at least reducing the impact force).
Bottoming out is like hitting the curb when parallel parking: it happens, but it shouldn't, when it happens it should happen softly, and your tyres like it as much as your knuckles. Chosing a switch or a setup based on the sound it makes when the key is bottomed out by an elephants’ stampede seems to me like chosing a wheel rim by the sound it makes when hitting it to the curb over and over again.
Don’t go for sound; go for touch, go for feel, go for feedback. For typing, chose something having feedback, and never take linears just because they sound better. If you like to improve your typing experience, go learn touch typing (no, not your 7 and a alf fingers almost there typing style, but proper 100% no exceptions touch typing), that will improve your typing experience a 100 times more than the most expensive, most diligently lubed, most sophisticatedly foamed and taped ethousiast keyboard. And then, go for the right keyboard, not the other way around.

Partway through this video a Twitch viewer asked a question I haven't seen answered in a full video. What does the maintenance for a mechanical keyboard look like? Let's say maybe it's been a year since a *TOTALLY HYPOTHETICAL* user has done anything other than maybe spraying some air into it or hand-vacuuming it
(Edit: Just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it hasn't been done! If it has I'll be glad to go and watch that video next)
