    How do you like your Grady White 208? I'm on Oahu as well, and thinking about ordering that same model.

      I love it, it’s perfect for Hawaii water. For a 20’ boat, you can fish, camp, cruise, and even cross the Kaiwi Channel safely to Molokai (which I tested on a far from perfect day). Compared to some friends boats in the same size range, it handles the chop much better.

      @@TheTyLife88 Thanks Braddah for the intel. I'm assuming you bought it new. Who did you use to ship it to the island/cost?

      @@oahupropertysolutions2439 I went thru Schock Boats in Newport Beach, it was about $5k to ship it from Cali W/ Matson. If you’re seriously interested in getting one, I wouldn’t mind letting you check the boat out.

      @@TheTyLife88Love this video! I just bought a 2023 Adventure 218 from Schock! Great family. I’ll be taking mine down to Loreto, B.C.S. Mexico. There are 5 islands in the area to explore. Plan on doing some exploring and overnights as well. You still enjoying your 208?

      @@kevin.elmore951 I got mine from Schock too, had to ship it over. I love the 208, it’s been the perfect boat for me. Handles the rough waters in Hawai’i very well, I’ve done 4 night camping trips on it island hopping with the cabin. With some modifications (outriggers and HD pole holders) the boat fishes well too! I have a build of it on Great-Grady (photo section) if you’re looking for any ideas that improved quality of life on it.

    how does your Grady handle chop? I'm looking at a Grady 232 Gulfstream.

    • @TheTyLife88
      @TheTyLife88  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve been on quite a few similar sized boats and believe it’s one of the best handling in the 20’ range. I’d assume the Gulfstream would be very similar and punch above its weight. Hawai’i has notoriously choppy water (consistent winds), and I’ve crossed the channels a number of times as well. Great hull designs in my opinion.

      Sweet, thanks for getting back to me. Must be beautiful out there with that blue water.@@TheTyLife88

      No worries, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The Gulfstream has a wider beam too, so likely feels pretty roomy for a 23’. Walkarounds unfortunately are a dying breed, but I use my cabin all the time for overnight trips. I’ve done a 4 day trip throughout the Hawaiian Islands last year, and very do-able with 2 people.

      That trip must of been the shit. 4 days of fishing and chillin out on the boat, sign me up!@@TheTyLife88
