WOW love love the Boat. So awesome of you to climb aboard and share your gift of sailing. So inspiring. Look forward to seeing some future teaching/tech videos, loved the tips on the mast shape, and praying for a wonderful and safe time for all those aboard!!! I pray oneday I will be setting sail to far away places. Such a beautiful family, thanks for sharing awesome special moments.
Yes, we will be together for quite awhile. We are replacing the standing rigging, running rigging, and sails, then sailing to Panama together. Then we'll go through the canal with them and buddy boat for awhile. You'll get LOTS of the boys, don't worry ;)
I see a hint (handsome part) of your dad in you. I am so glad to see you are helping Mario and John with their new home. I have decided to Subscribe to your channel and enjoy learning about my future old sailboat. Happy Sailing ⛵
How to Camp on a sail boat Admire the attention to all the safety gear ,you need to get the boat into a situation where all the preparation is tested, see how they react under pressure, things can change real quick and mostly will catch them off guard Cheers
I’m on board, I am in the same boat. I bought a 38 foot Morgan, with no big boat sailing experience. I did some work on the engine, some minor electrical work and have been doing some day sailing and one overnighter to the Channel Islands. My question is do I replace rigging and possibly haul out to do some more extensive work? I’m hoping your video helps me decide before heading south to Costa Rica, here goes. Thanks for all you do.
Oh, this is going to be fun sailing with these two! I have a degree in Fashion Design that I got in San Francisco, CA in the late 80s. I would go to lunch with my gay guy friends and we would sit in a little sidewalk cafe and check out all of the "Hot" guys. They used to laugh at me because I couldn't recognize the straight ones from the gay ones. It was so much fun! To be honest, I have had so many great friends who were lesbian too. I think the Universe was preparing me for my gay daughter! Seriously though, I think the LGBTQIA+ community is so cool because they are just authentically themselves.
Thats Great James. The icing on the cake when you hit Panama would be a complete human skin suit > Silence of the lamps < style made from inexperienced sailors ;-) You should make a Buffulo Bill theme video, just for the fun of it!
Any chance that the plastic pieces on the travelers were a shear point in case of overstress, and that aluminium will not break as needed when under stress??
After 4 years of back and forth, it was great to finally meet you in person here in Ensenada. If it happened once, Trish and I hope it happens again. Won’t get back to ECV before you leave, so bon voyage. Kevin and Trish on Belle Haven.
Your a cool dude, James! You really give Plukky a run for his money!!😂😂 What did your Dad think of Luna? Sail Safe and be careful with the girls! 🙏❤🇺🇸⛵👣🤙😎
Very nice introduction to Mario's and John's Oyster. Looking forward to the series. I noticed that the credits for the aluminum fabricator are a strange font when I view the video? Other text was fine.
@@thelastpirate Why can't I give more than 1 thumb up? YT has gone insane for both of us. They are killing you with compensation and killing me with ads. Greed has no bounds.
I think somebody must be feeding those Morro Bay seagulls lasagna or enchiladas. We parked our white Honda van near the rock in a line of about 40 cars. On top was a black Tule container. We suspect the seagulls thought it looked too much like a sea lion sitting on white rock (theirs). In less than 40 minutes they hit us so hard we spent $14 at the DIY car wash just to get enough off to drive. Not one of the other vehicles was hit. I like the bootie shorts flag. Clear communication is an important part of sailing.
Redundancy is very important with sailing and having an HF radio is just another form of redundancy. HF radio isn't relying on any corporation to maintain and operate equipment. HF radio use has declined over the past two decades but it is not obsolete. It's just one more tool that could possibly save your life.
Finallly some out gay sailors on TH-cam! Hello boys, my name is Mitchell and I live with my husband in San Francisco, CA. Your sailboat, your husband and your cats are all amazing! Your brother is pretty nice as well.
@@313barrygmailI only shared my private information at that time because there was a now deleted comment about how these guys are probably faking it and their wives are probably back home. That is why I came out publicly here.
@@313barrygmail Of course we're going to point ourselves out, we have something in common. If they went to Ohio state and so did you, you'd say "Yeah, my alma mater!" or if they were from your home town you'd say "Awesome, [my town] represent!" but nobody's going to jump in here with a "You people" about Ohio State or some town, are they?
James, These guys are hilarious and fun to watch. They are fortunate to have you aboard for the final inspection and as an instructor. Jim Rodgers
Yeah we love John and Mario. Happy that you do as well
You guys are having so much fun. What a fantastic episode, I laughed so much. Cheers

James on Zingaro is by far the best sailor in my opinion and a pirate, beautiful boat
Absolutely hilarious. The guy doing the safety talk, Mario?….was brilliant! Love the mating call flag! Can’t wait to see the next episode! ⛵️

This is so good . I can't wait for next week.

What a great comment. Much love from Takitimu!
What does that have to do with this sailing oyster 485?
@@BillyLintzenich-wf7sknot a thing at all. It was a dumb comment
Well, that was nice to see your dad. I just lost my dad less than 24 hours ago. Enjoy.
Goddamme! That looks like a fun boat!! All y'all need is Agador Spartacus as cabin steward!
I can't wear shoes.. I fall down. It's worse on water.
@SailingTakitimu You can't handle my Wuatemalaness!
So funny. Mario is a natural comic. Had me in stitches with the overly "camp" repertoire.
Mario and John need there own. We would subscribe for sure

This Oysterr 485 is in our boatyard right now in SF Bay. Mario and his mate sold it. Guess they did'nt like sailing
I am looking at replacing my standing rigging with mechanical fittings from Hayn. All my fittings except for the fore and back stay are cracked.
mario is my hero! so fun.
James I think you are in Morro Bay, Cal.
That is a nice looking oyster! Would it be wrong to ask how much they paid it? What year is it? What year is yours James? Thanks buddy
you got to talk about Tamale bay clams.
James ! dont bend over mate ! lol great crew :) lots of work for you :)
Mario and John are a great addition to ur show, they r great and fun to watch

Sadly, on most boats the safety equipment gets neglected immoderately after purchase.
New plan: all patreon supports need to buy the rest of the Oyster 485s in the world hire James to refit them and boom we have a fleet.
Gastronomy problems? Bird is eating fancy!
Awesome and hilarious. So far off the beaten path from your standard sailing videos as always, J

The most important line on the ship? The fuel line.

3 of them!
