Wow, what an incredible educational video for sailors! I'm impressed by the depth of knowledge you're sharing and the effort you put into making it. It's evident that you're having a blast while teaching, which makes it even more enjoyable to watch. I appreciate your DIY teaching style and attention to rigging details. You're a true professional, James!
@@thelastpirate exactly then clip snap shackle from snagging anything or hitting mast like mine did the one time I've been aloft. Even at 54 Every days a school day 😎👍
Question - can I confirm that you replaced the standing rigging one by one using a halyard to take the load of the (for example) shroud? And that you went aloft like this? I’m considering using this approach for redoing my rig on my (much smaller) yacht. I only have shrouds, fore and aft lowers, forestay and backstay. Your videos are superb.
I own a metal fabrication business with full machine shop capabilities and from all the sailing videos I have seen there is a need for custom and improved sailing hardware. The price of the cars is absolutely ridiculous. I definitely see room for improvement in the designs of many sailing components. With the prices that I have seen I can manufacture quality American made component's at reduced prices and still be profitable.

haha... James... You're a month late. Jon Seagull has been getting new standing rigging & running rigging, and I'm expecting it to complete this week Leven Point is getting a whole new new rig currently, hopig to complete before Christmas. 🙂

bit over the top...its awesome that you guys are having a blast. Seems really fun.
Thank you James. Professional.
Great information James.
Thank you for this information. Perfect for me and my family as we start a refit and first time sailors
I, still learning, was always told to tie in and not to trust halyard clip, when going aloft.
Thank you James for the vids 👍 🍻
Was hard to see, tied and clip tag end. Thought that was a safety line.
Yes, you saw correctly. I always tie the line.

I would literally leave tomorrow to cross an ocean on a sailboat without a second thought, but going up the mast would freak me out!!
Very nice video 😊👍
Thank you very much!
Good educational vid.
Nonsense James, strum a beautiful background loop if you can 🎶
it is his real voice... wow.... well i guess... great video
What do you mean? It sounds fake?
@@thelastpirate sorta, yeah, my comment on this video is a continuation of a comment thread in a prior video
Awesome video for DIYrs! Tell buddy there that he needs to believe in himself or he’s going to panic & get hurt. 😂
You've moved into education? Boy buddy the growth over the decade. Haven't seen any new music from you for years....🙂

Ive always been told if shit on by bird its good luck.
Me too!
James, I'm glad you don't have a woman playing a violin😮
Sorry, the end to end and the whipping lack coherent detail. Your fingers and hand block the view.
Your not seeing everything on your whipping tutorial. Your hands were covering the sheet alot and cant see what your doing.

Pity about all the phobic comments... I think the guys are so much fun.
Nice man! Good to hear. Nothing feels better as an offshore sailor than confidence in your rig.
Music would have been better than ball comments. Couldn't continue to watch.
