    38 mins in - Dr. K, if there was consolation before, this must be the desolation those same saints spoke about. Yes, in once sense, knowing the evils of some bad popes of old is a reassurance that we will survive ours as our ancestors survived theirs, but what about the affront to the honor of our Religion in its public idiation? The mockery that has been made of the only revealed religion by those most intimately responsible for defending it... among the secular witnesses but more importantly among the children of the Church who are not as well-informed or well-educated as some of us?

      I agree that our current crisis is unique in scope and depth. This means the divine deliverance will also be unique in scope and depth.

      Thank you so much.
      This is the best explanation of the history of the Papacy that I have heard!
      So many people have told me, in all sincerity, that the popes are chosen by the Holy Ghost, so we MUST obey them, but I was taught, in a good Catholic school, that the cardinals in conclave pray for guidance from the Holy Ghost.
      Of course, whether they follow that guidance or listen to another kind of 'spirit' is anyone's guess!

    Thankyou Dr for doing this and i guess after 2000 yr yon can say we have been in messes before.

    • @DrKwasniewski
      @DrKwasniewski  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. Although this mess is the biggest, God by now also has a "proven track record" of getting His people out of crisis and back into where they are supposed to be. And I believe we will see this.

    As usual a great support for my understanding of the Catholic faith. I've always known what the faith was but I never expected that I would one day be more Catholic than the pope. But here we are! Thank you for everything you are doing. It's such an enormous help as I am now alone in a NO parish hundreds of kilometers from the TLM.

      Be very careful here. Please see the below excerpt from the Apostolic Letter "Epistola Tua" of Pope Leo XIII written to the Archbishop of Paris in 1885:
      "To the shepherds alone was given all power to teach, to judge, to direct; on the faithful was imposed the duty of following their teaching, of submitting with docility to their judgment, and of allowing themselves to be governed, corrected, and guided by them in the way of salvation. Thus, it is an absolute necessity for the simple faithful to submit in mind and heart to their own pastors, and for the latter to submit with them to the Head and Supreme Pastor. In this subordination and dependence lie the order and life of the Church; in it is to be found the indispensable condition of well-being and good government. On the contrary, if it should happen that those who have no right to do so should attribute authority to themselves, if they presume to become judges and teachers, if inferiors in the government of the universal Church attempt or try to exert an influence different from that of the supreme authority, there follows a reversal of the true order, many minds are thrown into confusion, and souls leave the right path."
      The idea of being "more Catholic than the Pope" is not a Catholic idea. Indeed, Vatican I tells us: "the apostolic see and the Roman pontiff hold a world-wide primacy, and that the Roman pontiff is the successor of blessed Peter,
      the prince of the apostles,
      true vicar of Christ, head of the whole church andf ather and teacher of all Christian people. To him, in blessed Peter, full power has been given by our lord Jesus Christ to tend, rule and governthe universal church."
      All of this is to say that you are more Catholic than Bergoglio - but not more Catholic than the Pope. Why? Because, based on the above and many other magisterial teachings, Bergoglio cannot be Pope. Bergoglio is a public heretic. An apsostate. As such, he is not a member of the Roman Catholic Church and cannot be its earthly head. The only Catholic solution to the currrent crisis is to recognize the vacancy of the Apostolic See. Dr. K's approach is not Catholic.

    The question is would it be wise for the SSPX to place itself under the thumb of Pope Francis?

    • @DrKwasniewski
      @DrKwasniewski  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Not Francis, to be sure, but a future pope. They should not remain "in limbo" for decade after decade. Nor did Lefebvre want this.

    The SSPX is a society of clergy, not of laity. These days I usually attend an SSPX chapel up the street (my diocesan parish NO priest has an annoying habit of pontificating on migrants and climate!!!! change). But I didn’t join anything.

    • @DrKwasniewski
      @DrKwasniewski  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes, I know the SSPX is specifically a society of clergy. The faithful don't "belong" to it, they merely avail themselves of its good offices.

      @@DrKwasniewski I think Third Order members are members of the Society.

    Did you know that of the 266 Popes to date, 217 have been Italian? Let me repeat that. Of the 266 Popes to date, 217 have been Italian.
    I know that that wouldn't make any sense to some people, but to me it makes perfect sense.

    15.45 mins in - Dr. K, this must be what the saints that I have read call, "consolation." Thank you for bringing it to us - through the recounting one after the next after the next, of the great deeds of our holy fathers... under circumstances that sometimes resemble our own in a dim way and under circumstances that ought to shut our ever-complaining mouths.

    A cordial greeting Dr Kwasniewski, and a huge thank you for your apostolate and your teachings on TLM, today I found your channel, of course I will be very attentive learning everything I can, I have been attending Traditional Mass on Sundays for about a year, I still have a lot to learn from Tradition History of my Catholic faith, I acquired the 1962 Roman Catholic Missal, some things are still a little confusing, I know the basics of how to live the Mass, how to follow it, but I have many questions about how to use the Missal, when and why you stop following the sequence of, for example, Pentecost Sundays, for the Extraordinary Celebration, I believe without fear of being wrong that if you could guide us in the Use of the Missal, there would be many people who would thank you very much, I am looking for information and ways to learn but until today I have not been able to find someone who focuses step by step on the use of the Missal.
