Great work! When I first saw the shot, I was convinced the actress actually was wearing the suit and the VFX were „just“ the HUD and the set - I would have never suspected the whole suit to be animated/replaced. Awesome work!!!
That is truly remarkable! Could you please inform us about the schedule for the tutorial class if you are planning any? I am keenly interested in knowing when it will take place...
thank you! You can do a lot with all of them, but compared to blender, i think maya is nicer in regards to working on multiple shots, and for outputting passes etc for comp. But you could def do this in blender. don't know cinema4d
It's super good for the tracking, it makes the program understand what the set looked like and calculate the camera movement form it, if that makes sense. It's also good for several other reasons, like using it for bounce lights and shadow passes when integrating cg for example
It depends a lot. So many things to consider. Once you have the assets and the setup it's pretty easy to do more thos, so not sure anyone would only do 4 shots for a feature. It also depends if you're hiring me doing it all, or if you're going through a studio :)
this is wholesome. glad to see someone using maya and a proffessional workflow for a change. this is film quality vfx. earned your self a subscription. wish i could learn more from you. do you have patreon? theres very few info on youtube on how you actually use a color chart and a mirror ball in production .
For sure, not too much info out there on the "pro" workflows! Thank you so much though, i don't have anything like that right now unfortunately, focus has been on creating!🙏
Love the end result and it looks incredible. I aim to get as good as you one day. I was looking at the helmet movement with the head and I feel it has this really light weight movement due to it being a foam base. Do you think adding weights into the foam helmet would make the movement appear as if the helmet has more weight to it and it'd look a bit more natural. That's the only thing that was throwing me off and is just something I thought would improve it. Amazing work and video quality in general. Keep it up!
Fantastic end product and thank you for showing the process! Btw I think it would be good to boost the volume on your voiceover and enunciate your words a bit more, it was hard to hear you when you trailed off. And it's not an issue with your accent. Anyway, loved this and can't wait to see more from you!

@@fagerborg960yes. As a blender user. Cycles render is good but not advance as compare to Arnold.but apart from rendering side. Accessibility in blender is much more better than maya in my opinion.like blender has geo tracker, geometry nodes etc.. as a studio point of view maya is better because of pipeline that build around those software’s like max and maya. But as an solo artist. Blender is better and easy to work with. If you don’t like cycles. You can use other rendering engines like render man, redshift, octane etc. Note: I use both maya and blender and Houdini as well for my workflow. In both studio work and personal projects.
You did amazing ❤. That's the next level of creativity. Please make a video, trying similar scene in (Unreal Engine 5 + blender) with less physical resources.
Even the "simple" stuff that nobody explaines. There are a billion tutorials on how to model, but I never found stuff for distortion matching, grey/ chromeball etc. Like how to shoot for vfx
Impresive, I would recommend increasing the volume of your voice-over next time, the music was too loud which made it hard to hear what you where trying to say
That's really impressive work. As an alternate way to do this, would it have been possible to scan the talent's face and then do it all in CG rather than a VFX shot?
quite hard to make really good face scan. even the high-dpi photogrammetry won't do a trick cause of all the face texture will look kinda plastic and unnatural. it's all because of human's brain have a strong memory of what people look like in real life, so just the minimal skintone change or slightly wrong face texture could look harsh to you. actually you can try, but this all needs a lot of attention to details.
would def be possible, but yeah faces are still one of the hardest things to do in cg, and even if we have a realistic looking face, animating it is even harder. To me it would be the last thing to make cg as of now. Unreal animator is starting to look super good in some cases though. In this short film they did something similar to what you're suggesting, scanning the face and doing it full cg: th-cam.com/video/-1enK4XQvow/w-d-xo.html
