  • We made it to Sequoia National Park for our first overland Jeep camping adventure! And boy did we learn a lot…Catholes, anyone?
We rented a decked out Jeep Wrangler camper for a few days of overland camping (dispersed camping) in Sequoia National Park. This jeep has everything needed to camp alone in the wilderness for a few days. Don’t worry, we give you a full jeep camper tour in this video!
From the rooftop tent to the fully equipped kitchen, this Jeep camper is loaded. If you’re interested in giving jeep camping a try for the first time like us, we highly recommend Escape Campervan Rentals in Los Angeles, California for your Jeep camper rental (not sponsored).

After picking up our Jeep camper in LA, we were off to see the giant sequoia trees like General Sherman, The Congress and more! Our first sight of these giant sequoia trees was driving through the Four Guardsmen as we entered the first Sequoia grove. That first sight of the massive Sequoia trees is something we’ll never forget!
Using the iOverlander app, we scouted out a couple of gorgeous places to set up camp amongst giant trees and waterfalls all alone in the wilderness.
Our first camping location (bit.ly/3c6RFXg) was way more out of the way than anticipated, but it was an incredibly peaceful spot next to a creek. We had a great morning making coffee and listening to the water - plus we found a pine cone the size of our heads!
The second night (bit.ly/3i64RiM) we found a huge spot just outside of Sequoia National Park. This could easily hold a few tents or campers. This spot was perfect! It had a gorgeous waterfall with a small pool that would be great for swimming in the summer.
The next day we went hiking on the Tokopah Falls trail. After hiking up to the massive Tokopah Falls and spotting a marmot or two, we round out the video with a taste test of some backpacking meals from REI. You’ll have to stick around to the end of the video to see which meal took first place.
We hope you enjoyed our Sequoia National Park vlog. As always, we’ll see you in our next video as we KEEP GOING PLACES!

Have you ever been overland camping? This was our first time overland jeep camping in the wilderness and we loved it! Not gonna lie, we were a little unsure if we’d really like it or not. Would we get a good night’s sleep? Could we find a good camping spot? What if bears try to get into the food? All of these questions and uncertainties quickly went away after arriving to Sequoia National Park. With the incredible nature and giant trees, we felt like kids again out on an adventure. We went hiking, explored the sequoia groves and had a blast camping in the forest with our outfitted jeep. We hope you enjoy the video and that you get a feel for if jeep camping might be right for your next adventure. Keep going places!

I spent a weekend at Sequoia and it was remarkable ! So much to marvel at. Challenging , but not overwhelming as the reward of beauty is well worth the sacrifice of modern amenities. Great footage 👏

Totally agree! It was hard to focus on driving thru the park because we wanted to look at the beautiful scenery around every turn. The hiking and camping allowed us to get in nature and focus on the moments unplugged. Sequoia NP is something truly special! Glad you enjoyed the video and footage!

It sure has been a while! The General is doing well. Still welcoming visitors to his forest daily. The jeep was a fun experience! We had a fun time driving it around. Thanks for your support, Tommye!

Enjoyed the video! You both do a terrific job. Gentle, relaxing, and informative. I purchased a truck tent, and have had fun making videos of my outings in scenic Utah. Happy day! 😊

Love the Jeep! We'd love to use something like that for short trips 🧡 Look out for the Gourmet dehydrated meals, not sure if the BackCountry range is available in the US but the black label/gourmet options are really good, they take dehydrated foods to the next level ☺️

Nicely edited video, just one suggestion ..... rather than making 25 minutes long video, you can break it into 2 parts with 15 minutes of each so that you can have more videos to upload and we can see you more regularly.......

      @KeepGoingPlaces  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey there, thanks so much for watching! We would love to be able to upload more often but with our day job schedules, once a week works for us right now. We hope in the future that could change - we’re happy to hear you want more videos! ☺️

Thank you for your awesome video! My wife and I are also going to rent the jeep from Escape. Does the jeep they give you come with these tires? Are they good enough for off-roading?

    • @KeepGoingPlaces

Thanks so much for watching! Yep, the Jeep came exactly as it is in the video - same tires and setup. We took it off roading a bit to get to our campsites each night and had no issues at all! Hope you guys have an awesome trip!!
