Random Coolant Smell But No Leak - New Radiator Cap And Crossing My Fingers

- The Previa has been delivering an oddly timed, somewhat random, smell of coolant while driving at normal operating temperature. Please note our Previa has NEVER overheated.
While driving at normal operating temperature in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Previa released a heavier-than-normal coolant scent. Yet we still cannot locate any coolant leaks.
I posted a short last week showing tiny bubbles in the coolant reservoir at cold start-up but they go away reaching operating temperature and do not return with higher rpm.
I am paranoid of an OEM Head Gasket failure with the Previa now exceeding 294,000 miles. It's never been opened up! Floki, The SuperVan is the world's most versatile vehicle. Removing the middle row seats we were able to get all of the booth walls, artworks, supplies, and camping gear into the Previa with plenty of room to spare. Not to mention, the Previa pulled 20.5 MPG on the interstate with cruise control set at 75mph - THAT"S GREAT FOR AN AWD 29 YEAR OLD SUPERVAN.

Is the carpet dry? Does the level of coolant go down in the overflow reservoir? Bubbles in the radiator or overflow tank is an indication of a bad head gasket. The bubbles going away when warming up can be due to expansion of hot surfaces sealing head gasket.
Carpet is dry - no heater coil leak. Coolant was slightly low with old cap but then slowly rose back up toward full in a few minutes after the pressure released - and it was still cold. Giving it a week to see if still tiny bubbles on cold starts.
ya, i just recently realized replacing the radiator cap is a maintenance item, 5 year max.
