- This is the basics in regards to how Schneider Trucking taught me to back in a truck and trailer into a dock !

When I was with schneider I was taught shoulder lines up with the trailer next door. All the way right, move forward till you're 90 degrees. All the qay left and pull forward to 90 degrees again. From t there then you turn all the way right and back it in keeping the wheel in all right and you will straighten out in the dock

In a perfect world yes that would work but sometimes you don’t have enough space to make your first 90 degree turn . Every scenario time you back up can be different from the last so you just have to improvise.

Wow, smooth backing. You didn't even drop the bolt cutters you left on the ICC bumper. Although, I feel bad for the next driver who doesn't have one and can't cut their lock off.

I was wondering if you forgot the bolt cutters too… although after you opened the swing doors and started hustling back to the cab I thought you had picked them up and sat them in the cab with you until you bobtailed out and we’re gonna drop them off then. How’s it going for ya man? I actually work at an Amazon FC in north Georgia right now but am waiting on my 2nd attempt at my CDL-A test out. I failed the 90-degree alley dock… they don’t do 45 degree backs at my DDS office. Supposed to take my next test in a week or two.

Good habit to loop your electrical line under your air lines so they don't rubb against your fuel tank. DOT loves that wear on those lines and will ding you everytime.

Where’s your gloves that you should be using whenever you touch the dirty trailer? Like opening doors, landing gear, lines, etc? That’s how you keep hands and interior clean!
Not a driver but others who are experienced do it that way.

@@truckingwithab2411 One of the other drivers that I watch on TH-cam and I’ve been in touch with says it’s better to buy multiple pairs of real cheap gloves than one pair of fancy gloves. So five bucks or so to keep your hands clean isn’t that much.
My first day at Schneider was last week. My backing is struggling. I was supposed to be finished Wednesday. Unfortunately, I haven't passed my backing. They have agreed for me to stay an extra week, but I'm really struggling. I really want to stay but I'm so frustrated. I have listened, I have read books and watched videos. Nothing has worked 😭

Extra week? Smh, they rushed me out. They said I would get practice with my TE. Went with my TE and only backed 2 or 3 times. TE was on a dedicated account. Only back at the end of the route. And by that time, he was driving. Smh

Wait till every dock is filled and it's 2 in the morning hardly any parking lot lights its raining like crazy you can't stretch the truck out we will see how the number of feet you memorized helps you then belive me even worse snowing like the Dickenson an now dock lines
I haven’t backed yet in the snow ❄️ but I can imagine it’s a lot harder ! The demonstration I did was the rule of thumb that Schneider teaches when your setting up to do a backing, I don’t really do all that anymore 😂. I’ve backed in pouring rain and I found it to be difficult also because I couldn’t see squat ! I had to get out and look a couple of times just to make sure and I got wet!

You pulled too far past the first trailer. Line your mirror with its outside corner. From 9ish o’clock herd right turn till the trailer wheels stop rolling and begin to slide. Hard left turn gets it in the space

I was thinking about schneider because they hire right our of trucking school. But I don't wanna drive an extra 3 hrs from the nearest terminal to home. I talked to a recruiter who Said I can't take the rig home
At Schneider you cannot take the truck home. I had to drive 1 hour to the terminal in Atlanta to pick up my truck and drop it off for my home time .
I've completed my 2 weeks otr with Schneider after my license from Schneider. So far so good. Which company you are driving now for ? And like always love your content 😍 keep it up the good work stay safe ☺️

You was taught wrong as hell man. You was suppose to ride the trailers, put your driver door in the center of the trailer next to you, turn hard right into a 12, and make your way to a 9 and keep your tires straight. You wouldve alighned your tractor up way better. I guess it was different back then.
