I think that anyone grieving a loved one would take this song the way I did--as a blessing and a gift. The fact that it dropped on my dear one's birthday was a small miracle. Thank you.
Beautifully presented (...as always), and a wonderful composition by Dr Lim in honour of the amazing Lee Kuan Yew. Also nice to see VOCES8 giving global visibility to the "little Red Dot" of Singapore - an amazing country!!
Just spent this evening at a concert by V8. They are wonderful in so many ways! Amazing voices, for sure. But they are just such genuine and sincere people. I love them! This is a beautiful piece of music. Thank you!
I was there, too! I got to talk to Monty Charles, the tenor and Voces8 scholar that I believe was filling in for Blake Morgan. He was somewhat worried about how he did and his blend, but I assured him I feel he did a fantastic job and fit right in. That doesn't just take a lot of confidence and humility to perform on a stage like that, but also a solid support group in the other members to bolster someone filling in. An amazing and genuine group.
@@Tinker1950 Rom5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 🙂
Wonderfully sung by all... but with a curious contrast..... Voces 8 (the professionals) needed their scores, whereas the Voices of Singapore knew the piece by heart.
Soon there will be choral music made with randomly generated Latin syllables. For a regular Latin mass goer, it sounds weird, almost ridiculous or disrespectful to hear mass parts mashed up like that. The Kyrie and the Agnus are like one hour apart in a sung mass. Thoughtless way to be creative. Zero religious sensibility and respect to 1000 years of tradition. Palestrina and Bach did not need this to change music history. In a way it's actually fitting to be sung in a former convent. Let's just keep the pretty outer shell of catholicism. And replace the Crucifix with our logo... Who's your Kyrie? "If I speak with the tongues of men, and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal."

This is truly unique, Voces8 made it! The best Vocal Ensemble on TH-cam and possibly one of the best in the World! Job to admire!

Position is not important, the Spirit counts!

Oh, you can guess how long and how well Mr Lim prepared the choir, also I´m sure that they´re all (semi) pros themselves.
Pretty, but why is it the Kyrie text with an Amen? It feels like Darius Lim wanted to write some pretty music and just slapped those in there.
