Cool handle, I’m looking for some good training implements and I don’t know woodwork so it’s really useful to see the building process for me. you’ve got such an interesting accent btw
Great piece. I was thinking about making an adjustable plate loaded hammer out of 18in x 1in threaded rod, a cut pipe that would fit flush over the rod, some washers, and hex nuts. You could play around with the lengths of the handle length and add bigger sized washers if you were to add additional thickness to handle, then wrench both sides of the handle down using the hex nuts. My length of the handle would be around 10 in (that includes washers and hex nuts) leaving 8 inch of loading space not including a 3rd hex nut to tighten down the 1in plates. The only thing I have yet to figure out is adding a nylon strap to the bottom of the handle to add additional versatility even if it would shorten the handle length by an inch or so. If the strap were to be added I don't think a hex nut on the bottom of the handle would be necessary but instead, a cap of some kind or bit at the bottom drilled with a hole to screw the strap on each side.
That sounds like a cool project. I would think the shortened length could be compensated with using bigger load. Please make a video on your channel about it when it is all done. I'm interested to see it
Cool build. Was it really that challenging? You know there is a certain line of thinking that says that you waste a lot of energy grunting and it's best to try to remain stoic during the lift. Keep all that energy inside and more of it goes towards the lift. You could always still grit your teeth though lol.
