Sorry for the late reply. Send me an e-mail at garrett.e.schlegel@gmail.com and I'll get you over my wiring diagram. I'll have to do some research on the Latching Relays.
Build looks very clean, good job👍🏻 . Where did you get the control box for all the wiring? I live in the central valley and in the process of building a wet blast cabinet from scratch. Trying to put all of this together. Ive never wired anything like this before and my brain is all twisted up haha.
LOL...I do this kind of thing for a living so to speak so it wasn't that difficult for me on the AC/DC circuit side of things. Basically you will put a DC Power Supply in your control cabinet and wire that up through the switches you'll install for the pump, air valve, windshield washer, etc. If you DM me through Facebook or IG I can help you out.
@@bagboy5150 Call the Tacoma Company at 208-264-5543. they are awesome people and they have a few different nozzles. I got the "Deluxe" and it works great.
Thanks Bryce. Yes I am happy with the performance and even used it this week, but it's just a little too small now for the things and side jobs I've had to turn away because they wouldn't fit. I;m in the process of designing a custom stainless steel cabinet that is much larger.
Garrett Schlegel. If you could keep us posted on the build please that would be great ! Do you think you get the same results with yours compared to a store bought one ? Thanks
MatthewMCRepair recently built a new blast cabinet from scratch. He said that the engine of a vapor blaster is the air compressor. He suggested 220 volt with a 5HP motor that can push at least 15 CFM, if I remember correctly. What are all the parameters of your compressor, please? Thanks!
Peace Love mine is a Speedaire, 7.5HP, 23 scfm compressor at 120 psi. Matt is correct in that your compressor will absolutely make or break how well your vapor blast cabinet performs.
Hi Garrett, maybe I missed it but (how) did you seal all seams of the cabinet? Also, after having used it a few months: does the media wear the paint of the cabinet. Does one need to protect the inside of the cabinet with pvc like you did with the door? Very well executed!
I took the entire cabinet apart and sealed everything up with silicone. Since this is the older style cabinet I didn't have as many sections as a lot of the cabinet is rolled steel instead of bolted. The paint in a couple spots has worn down to metal, but nothing I'm too worried about.
Hey Mark! Thank you for the compliment. Raw cost of the parts is around $1500 depending on what you can get a cabinet for, the type of pump you get, brass fittings vs. pvc, etc. I tried to source the best parts I could because I wanted it to perform and last. I'm in the process of designing a much bigger cabinet from scratch where it will be fabricated out of steel and will fit almost anything I want inside. That's the one limitation with the HF Cabinet....it's a little small.
Hey Bobby....not sure if I understand your question or not, but the pump base is built up so the pump sits about 2-3" above whatever it is sitting it (in this case the slurry mix). Once the pump comes on it mixes up the blast media and water just with the swirling motion of the pump.
Nice work man! I have a rolled steel HF cabinet ready for you to build your next cabinet. How much do you need $$$ to do the work? I need this done, like yesterday! I know where you live, from all the Google Earthing I've been doing from your other videos, images and things. I can bring you my cabinet when you're ready. Also, my good friend Cameron posts videos in horizontal fashion. Do you know that trick, or??? Either way, thanks for the info. Again, great work Garrett!
@@kevenccote2684 I don't have formal plans for the cabinet, but almost all of the parts are listed in the description of the video. What exactly are you looking for?
It's doing well still...I've abandoned the windshield wiper as it was conflicting with the glass and one of the lights isn't as waterproof as claimed, but all in all it still works great. I'll have to do a follow up video. I'm in the process of building a 5' wide unit so I'll put that up when I'm done with it.
