  • Welcome to the a new series called Classic Mini Clubman Budget Restoration.
In this series I aim to prove to you that you can buy and restore a classic car of your own on a budget if your just willing to have a go yourself.
The car in question here is yes you guessed it a Classic Mini. This is a 1980 Classic Mini Clubman Saloon.
In this episode I get brave and get one of the outer sills cut off, I have had a good idea of what was behind there but even more of an idea now, it almost seemed a shame to cut what I believe to be the original sills of the car, but needs must in our quest to make this car solid once again.
Throughout this build I plan to keep a log of the money spent and the time we have clocked up on.
Do not miss out on this series guys & girls I hope I can get many more of you into classic cars out there.
Thanks for watching and if you haven't already please like this video and subscribe to this channel for more builds just like this one.

For a car of that age the shell is amazingly sound. I remember restoring MG's that were half that age or so that were complete sieves that were 50% filler!

Graeme W Yeah the 89 build was full of filler and I think I am still to find some more on that. Back in the day bodges. So yeah glad you agree this one really isn’t bad

First time watching your videos. I met you at a sunmc meet last year but I had no idea you were quite this into minis Haha. Hopefully going to start working on my own projects properly soon. Your videos have great detail on specific areas which will be very useful. Ive got to remove a sill and given I have zero knowledge this vid will really help. Thanks for sharing.

I did use one on the 89 restoration. The point of this. Build was to prove you can do it all on your driveway with basic restoration tools.
