Best thing here is the bassline. Paul Turner is doing an amazing job with this one. I play the bass and I´m totally impressed. The way he plays silences is so complex...gosh this man has the touch.
Jay Kay's one of the greatest frontmen ever. His stage presence is absolutely magnetic. And the band are equally as top notch. Like the other guy said, talent attracts talent.
WOW...THT WAS MIND-BLOWING....SOUNDS SO FRESH AND UNIQUE LIVE!!!THATS THE WONDER OF JAMIROQUAI!!THEY CAN MAKE THEIR SONGS SOUND BETTER AND RAWER LIVE WITH THE SAME FUNKY JIVE!!!
Derrick McKenzie is and always has been the beating heart of Jamiroquai: their success is largely due to his impeccable drumming. The combo of Derrick + Paul Turner on bass?!? Absolutely incredible: this all-star rhythm & bass section will go down as one of the best of all time.
I've been a Jamiroquai fan since 1996, and even if I still adore the band, I believe that: Derrick McKenzie + Stuart Zender = Most powerful groove mankind has ever seen Derrick McKenzie + any other bassist = Greatest groove currently around
Some of their songs would be really hard to play on a traditional acoustic. But I think Fender now makes acoustics with the same fret access as electric guitars
Toda esta performance tem muito groove, particularmente o 2º verso a partir do minuto 1:21 e a frase do baixo que encerra este mesmo 2º verso, Uau! Músicos soberbos é o que dá!
Try not to worry so much, music isn't about what genre it should be placed in. Music is subjective and this music happens to be favoured by many. Nobody is saying it is better or worse than anything that you listen to. Each to their own my friend! I love playing this song and I don't care what genre it is considered to be.
Would so love to see him live...unfortunately I think most people in the US have NO IDEA who he is or how great this music is. To hypnotized by the formulaic crap shoved down our throats.
To be honest the first song I heard of Jay was "Virtual Insanity" and that was it!! I tried looking for it in record stores and no one heard of him. I was pissed!!! Never knew that "Canned Heat" was on the Napoleon Dynamite song track either but knew in the back of my head I know that voice!!! I was watching a crossfit video and they played the song "Canned Heat" and this time I decided to do my research and that's how I found him!!! I can't believe how I missed all these songs!!!! Thanks technology!!!
I'm American and I'm 27. Got my first Jamiroquai album in 6th grade. I've accepted that I'll probably never see them live in my life as they just don't travel this way. Glad to know I'm not the only Americans Jami fan. I've NEVER met another fan in this country. Didn't even know they existed.
i LOVE this song, especially this version. i saw them 2 days ago live! awesome performance, great show. it would be great to have a complete dvd of this live session.
The director must love the guitar player, because it's otherwise impossible to explain why they wouldn't insist more on the bass, traditionally a staple of Jamiroquai's sound.
Had a tough day at work yesterday. Listening to this classic today and my mood is better already ❤️
this song makes me proud to be a bass player
Adam Loring That's what's 👆 .

Not to take anything away from Jay but when you surround yourself with musicians like that, you are going to sound good.
Well, but in order to surround yourself of such good musicians, you indeed must have a good eye for choosing them
His voice is a good and unique; surrounding yourself with talent is smart. Talent attracts talent.
Bs dude is good
Jay Kay's one of the greatest frontmen ever. His stage presence is absolutely magnetic. And the band are equally as top notch. Like the other guy said, talent attracts talent.

Even though Jay's voice has faded a bit with age, this live version sounds exactly like the album version 10 years ago... and better.

Jamiroquai should do an unplugged album or at least record a acustic version of all their hits
Michael Clements 100% been saying the same for years
@@welchy1975 I do hope it's something jamiroquai will consider doing Inthe future jay kay has such an amazing voice

I love this video. :P
Wow bass 👏
Pretty good solo by Rob, I wanna listen to more improv!! :D And the old extended ending for this one, trading fours between drums and percussion...
The director must love the guitar player, because it's otherwise impossible to explain why they wouldn't insist more on the bass, traditionally a staple of Jamiroquai's sound.
I want this in HD!
F...king goood.....!! : )
