Yup, these are the exact reasons my life is so tough.. When I'm wearing my Apple watch I miss: -The long battery life -The morning report -Bodybattery -The flashlight -The stormwarning -The button navigation -The solar charging (because that's sexy) -Phone out of bluetooth range notification. And when I'm with my Garmin, I miss: -The ability to answer phone calls -Reply to messages -For me, the turn by turn navigation -The easier way to make payments -Filling up the activity rings Right now I'm at work.. Wearing my Garmin instinct 2x.... Missing my Apple watch 😅 Fml But I'll probably ditch the apple watch when the fenix line will have the ability to make phone calls... Great video by the way!
its why I wear both, I have an AWU 1 and Garmin 965 and yes I can't live without my AWU and it has the morning report also! so I get two morning reports that are miles apart so go figure I listen to my body not the Morning report!
You can answer phone calls of the garmin venu 3 Since you have an iPhone, there’s not a good way around answering text messages but because the venu 3 has a speaker, you can use Siri and tell it to text people back. The venu 3 has garmin pay as well. So almost everything you’re missing, hope this helps
I've been switching back and forth between the two for years, but inevitably end up with an Apple Watch for day-to-day wear, and a Garmin for sleep tracking, recovery and running workouts.
@@graaf33 I actually had a three-day sleep study in New Orleans at Tulane University and wore my Garmin 965 and my Apple watch ultra now neither were spot on, but the apple watch Ultra was only a few minutes off every sleep metric whereas my Garmin was more than 30 minutes on some and over an hour off of deep sleep.
@@graaf33 I also wear a polar h10 chest strap and that shows apple is a head of Garmin for everything I do.... you want to buy my 965 it is for sale because it randomly loses full charge overnight and drops heart rate data during work outs and sometimes just randomly reboots during a workout... something my Apple watch Ultra has NEVER done. Glad I didn't go spend the money for the Epix pro 51mm Titanium Sapphire like I wanted..... because I did truly give Garmin a fair shake, now they may give me a new watch, but I'll let you know what becomes of it in the next few weeks, I just think Apple with workoutdoors, and athlytic app is now way better than Garmin..
When Apple updates their workout app to a more readable setup, like Garmin, Wahoo, Polar and all of the industry (and a structured training screen that makes any sense), I'll switch. Until then I go crazy when running with any AW. I never know the paces I need to be in during structured intervals pulled from Training Peaks.
I want the AWU to be my go to watch 24/7 but the Torch in my Epix is just an EDC must! I am currently wearing my AWU on my ankle 😅 to see how the sleep tracking works there...don't ask...
Honestly dont think the two are comparable. If your serious about training you wear Garmin - if your not so serious AW makes more sense if your in the apple eco-system. I wear Garmin 24/7 and throw on an apple watch as a " 1 inch emergency" phone on the other wrist or in a pocket.
I think that with Apple, you can’t pair 2 watchs on the same Apple app. But with Samsung, i can. That's wath i did. I bought 2 galaxy watch 6 44mm. I une the first for a full 24h tracking, put on charge in the morning ’take the second one and do the same. So i have 365 days battery life.
With the new Garmin Connect app update I would stick with Apple. Garmin really messed up with that one. Worst UI I’ve ever laid hands on. The previous version was so good, and then Garmin thought it needed a total makeover (for the worse).

Just a heads up AWU is way better at sleep tracking and heart rate tracking than Garmin I wear both AWU and a garmin 965
@@davidbraswell1481how do you know. Yea we all seen the scientist video

Same.
Activities can be controlled by buttons on awu if action button is set to workout

Thank you for covering this topic. I’ve been curious about this for some time now.

Unfortunately, until Apple lets me use physical buttons for start, stop, lap, I’ll be keeping my Garmin.
This is already the case with the Apple Watch Ultra ;)
they already do get with the program !!!
Use Siri. When I start a workout like outdoor walking, I just say “Hey siri, start outdoor walk”. I don’t need buttons.
