- Yesterday morning my girlfriend (Dess2320) and I arrived at the Ayer train station bright and early. Around noon time the train all of us, had been waiting for had arrived in Ayer. The AAPRCO's Pine Tree Limited led by Amtrak stopped to pick up a few people before making the final leg of its journey to Portland ME.
While waiting for this train I met a boat load of other railfan's who were out anticipating the arrival of the special train. I met Tom (MaineCentral114) who was also ready to film the train along with a few others. Later in the day I met John in Ayer and my friend Cory (Skyman2002) and Defect Detector Rail Videos in Shirley. All in all it was a great time meeting new people and catching this one of a kind train! Thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed the video!
Awesome! Nice meeting you in Shirley
Nice collection of rolling stock. Thanks for posting.
I wish this train was heading down my way! Nice catch!

excellent video
Very Nice!!

Nice 1
There should be a train that goes from Chicago to Portland on a regular basis. Maybe name it the Lobster Diver
Nice
do you have any clue when it is coming back from maine like what day i couldn't make it on saturday
Thursday at 12pm it will be in the Beacon park area where the train will split. A little less than half of the train will head to South Station where eventually it will be put onto Regional #67 enroute to D.C., the part thats a little more than half of the train will follow LSL #449 west to Chicago. I'd go see it on the Grand Junction to be able to see the full train, not just a section.
I would see the part on 67 because I live on the nec do u no what night? Thanks
TrainBrain2000 I may as well see the 67 section, i think it might head out on Friday but i'm not 100% sure.
What exactly is this train, is it a private charter or a company excursion? I have never heard of it before, but clearly Amtrak has a foothold in it, hence the motive power. Can someone elaborate plz?
Its basically a private excursion train containing privately owned cars that travel across the country with each other, in this case there destination was Portland ME the place where convention meeting was held this year.
go to www.aaprco.com that will tell you everything.
I know this is two years late but this train was the AAPRCO (American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners) convention special - Pine Tree Limited. We run at least one train every year to our convention location. In 2014 it was in Portland, ME. The 2017 convention is returning to the region and will be in Burlington, Vermont.
TrainBrain2000 ***** the PV's will head on Friday September 26th's Regional 67. I was told to expect good power on the train since it should be a 19 car train with the 11 PV's on the back.
Really? hmm thats interesting, I heard that some of the cars will be on a separate train after the lake shore tomorrow heading west as their own section. But then again it may just be a few of the western PV's. Thanks for the info!
Where is Beacon park?
