As a mom, I have 2 comments about this video 1. You aren't a "bad influence" 2. I 100% understand why some people don't want kids. They are a lot of work, require all of your time and energy, and you are literally having to keep them alive. Some people just don't want to put that much energy into a tiny version of themselves, and I don't think they should be faulted for that. The people who have kids and THEN decide that they don't want to put forth the effort to raise them are the real people to criticize.

@Dozy Doggie He WAS a good TH-camr. When he started playing Fortnite it ruined his whole channel for me. But, I like to go back and watch his old, actually good videos. I’m very grateful for Stampy. Without Stampy I wouldn’t even know what TH-cam is. Or what MineCraft is, for that matter. He was an important part of my childhood, but just like most TH-camrs I used to love, his channel went to trash.
I do respite with kids with disabilities and one of my clients has a sister like that. She’s 8 and comes home from school to watch TH-cam, never something on Disney Channel or Nickelodeon. I was born in the early 90s, so I loved coming home to watch Disney Channel and Nick.
That bottle of ink that you've got seems to be Émeraude de Chivor from the line J. Herbin 1670. I haven't seen it in person but it's supposedly a beautiful green ink with golden microglitter particles and if you write on good nonabsorbent paper like Rhodia it has a red shine to it. It's working in fountain pens allegedly, but it may clog some because of the glitter content. (Maybe someone already wrote that, but there's almost 7 and a half thousand comments when I'm typing this and I'm not reading all that.)
I think you're a great influence. Ever since I started attending college, I've lost most of my drive. I ended up wasting about four classes due to me just not showin up. However, ever since picking back up on your videos (I paused on TH-cam for a while) I haven't missed any classes, I've confirmed what profession I want, and have really attributed a lot of the "stay in school" talk to you, because not many people in my life encourage me in this way. Here, Ben,I'm giving you the "parental-child resentment" my mother gave birth to me at age 19 (So, not because society pressured her to, but because... well she didn't wait) She ABSOLUTELY without a doubt resents me completely. She and my father got a divorce when I was 4 and everything I've had since then I had to work for, and I mean actually illegally work "under the table", at supermarkets and things like that; however, now she has another daughter with her new husband, I love her she's my baby although I do kind of resent her because she get EVERYTHING when I don't and never did, I'm 17 and she's 8. I need more of your thoughts on societal pressures for marriage and children. I've been with my partner for 10 years now and honestly I'm not interested in either. But when I say that people with kids seem to take it personally... Or say "that'll change". Like maybe that attitude will change but that's not for them to say! It kills me. Also someone once told me that not wanting to have kids made me selfish. Wtf.
My brother has also been with his girlfriend for more than ten years and my parents have been asking him(not really pressuring him into it)when they're finally going to marry. I don't really think there's a problem if they stay the way they are,since his girlfriend is more or less already a part of my family and I've known her ever since I was an infant,but the real problem is that my brother hasn't met her parents yet,even though she has met our entire family. I don't get it either. I mean marriage I can sort of get, if you want to tell the entire world how committed you are, but for me I think it would be more of a tax thing (because where I live it is making a difference tax-wise). But really the whole having-kids-thing. I'm a 31 year old woman and I don't want kids. I don't hate them, they can be cute, but my life goal is not incubating human life forms. I know what my mum went through with me and my brother, all the times we got sick, having to go to so many doctors with us and stuff, I'm not made for that. And that should be ok. I've also been told by older women that that will change, but so far it hasn't really. I rather women get equal pay and society's default not being that a woman surely will get pregnant at some point, but rather that we can do what we want. You want to focus on work instead of children? -ok! You want both work and children to matter in your life? -ok! And what Cristine and Ben talked about in the video, about how many people secretly regretting having kids? I think there are many out there. And honestly I can't promise I won't end up with kids (biologically mine or otherwise), but I rather see a loving family with same-sex parents who want kids and actively sought out that decision, than at-the-end-of-their-patience-parents who would love to go back in time and not be pressured into it. I don't think it's selfish of us not to want children, because honestly would it really be good for the child if we regretted their existence? Know that you're not alone in this!
As a mother, let me tell you something that I really wish I had been told when I got pregnant seven years ago. It is true that (most likely), you're gonna love your child if it's there and yes, it's a very special experience and there are a lot of good parts to it. BUT it is NOT true, that you automatically become a kids-person, even if you weren't before if it is about your own child. It is NOT true, that you'll never regret it once the kid is there. The things you have to give up when raising a child are very big and intense and, depending on your personality, what is left of the life you would have wanted is sometimes depressing. The guilt trip society (and you yourself) will put you through every single day for not being able to enjoy your cage, simply because there's a little human you love in there with you, doesn't help either. And I know, saying this will make me seem like a monster to many women (don't worry, my son is fine) but when I searched for advise back then, the only things I always got told was "No matter how hard it's gonna be, it'll all be worth it" and "When the baby is there, you won't regret it for a second". And that turned out to be completely false. Maybe I am a monster, I don't know, but I don't think I'm the only one.

You never know what someone's story is, or what may have happened to them to make them the way that they are. Don't get me wrong, some people are just bad/rude and are just out to get others, but just always be thinking about who you are dealing with and what you really know about them. I really enjoy your videos because they are genuine and silly, but you tell people that life isn't just silliness and fun. There is a 'grown-up' aspect of it. Like, you have a 'regular' or 'traditional' job, but you still have fun on the side doing TH-cam. It really is a good message you are spreading and I encourage you to keep it up! Hi Cristine! I'm 20 years old and I live with my mom. Okay so when I watch your videos, I usually use headphones because she doesn't appreciate swearing and we have a small house. Usually if it's a small amount of 'language' I don't necessarily need headphones but since there's the occasional shout of a swear pretty consistently, I wear headphones to respect what she doesn't want to hear. What I need to cover most in my house is the use of the Lord's name in vain. My mother was raised Catholic and I was raised protestant and she always stressed the importance of not saying 'God' or 'Jesus' without speaking about them. I'm cool with other people speaking that way because that's their life, they're allowed to talk however they like. But my mother finds multiple uses of those names (especially 'Jesus') to be distasteful and appreciates when I keep that to myself. I also have a point where using the Lord's name excessively turns me off to a video but that's never been the case with your channel. I think another reason parents might find you to be a bad role model is because they dont actually watch the videos. They check in on their kids and see a woman chatting, swearing, and painting her nails. Which at a glance doesn't seem like someone they'd want their kid to be like. What they likely often miss is your encouragement to be informed, responsible, and to work hard to get your education. I personally believe you're a good role model. You always encourage education and learning, hard work, being true to yourself despite social expectations, and responsible behavior like saving money and having a job. What you teach through example is charity, healthy relationships, and that being an adult can be fun. You have a hobby and through TH-cam and Snapchat and Instagram stories you show going out and spending time with friends and family. If anyone has read this far I'm shocked lol. Anyway this is why I think parents think you're a bad role model and why I think you're not. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk (Love you Cristine, good job being you)

That bottle of ink that you've got seems to be Émeraude de Chivor from the line J. Herbin 1670. I haven't seen it in person but it's supposedly a beautiful green ink with golden microglitter particles and if you write on good nonabsorbent paper like Rhodia it has a red shine to it. It's working in fountain pens allegedly, but it may clog some because of the glitter content.
(Maybe someone already wrote that, but there's almost 7 and a half thousand comments when I'm typing this and I'm not reading all that.)

I think you're a great influence. Ever since I started attending college, I've lost most of my drive. I ended up wasting about four classes due to me just not showin up. Here, Ben,I'm giving you the "parental-child resentment" my mother gave birth to me at age 19 (So, not because society pressured her to, but because... well she didn't wait) She ABSOLUTELY without a doubt resents me completely. She and my father got a divorce when I was 4 and everything I've had since then I had to work for, and I mean actually illegally work "under the table", at supermarkets and things like that; however, now she has another daughter with her new husband, I love her she's my baby although I do kind of resent her because she get EVERYTHING when I don't and never did, I'm 17 and she's 8. I do want children, but not for a while more when I know that I can support them and I'm currently planning along with my school counselor a way for my to go to college, to get a teaching degree (Special Education specifically) and that's pretty much it.

I need more of your thoughts on societal pressures for marriage and children. I've been with my partner for 10 years now and honestly I'm not interested in either. But when I say that people with kids seem to take it personally... Or say "that'll change". Like maybe that attitude will change but that's not for them to say! It kills me.
Also someone once told me that not wanting to have kids made me selfish. Wtf.
My brother has also been with his girlfriend for more than ten years and my parents have been asking him(not really pressuring him into it)when they're finally going to marry. I don't really think there's a problem if they stay the way they are,since his girlfriend is more or less already a part of my family and I've known her ever since I was an infant,but the real problem is that my brother hasn't met her parents yet,even though she has met our entire family. It really baffles me how he has managed to avoid that for so long,he even hasn't met most of her siblings (she has a looot of siblings) Anyways just wanted to share this story with someone else,and I hope you and your partner live happily together no matter what you decide to do!
I was told I won't have a fulfilling life without kids. People are assholes.
I don't get it either. I mean marriage I can sort of get, if you want to tell the entire world how committed you are, but for me I think it would be more of a tax thing (because where I live it is making a difference tax-wise).
But really the whole having-kids-thing. I'm a 31 year old woman and I don't want kids. I don't hate them, they can be cute, but my life goal is not incubating human life forms. I know what my mum went through with me and my brother, all the times we got sick, having to go to so many doctors with us and stuff, I'm not made for that. And that should be ok.
I've also been told by older women that that will change, but so far it hasn't really.
I rather women get equal pay and society's default not being that a woman surely will get pregnant at some point, but rather that we can do what we want.
You want to focus on work instead of children? -ok! You want both work and children to matter in your life? -ok!
And what Cristine and Ben talked about in the video, about how many people secretly regretting having kids? I think there are many out there.
And honestly I can't promise I won't end up with kids (biologically mine or otherwise), but I rather see a loving family with same-sex parents who want kids and actively sought out that decision, than at-the-end-of-their-patience-parents who would love to go back in time and not be pressured into it.
I don't think it's selfish of us not to want children, because honestly would it really be good for the child if we regretted their existence?

I also had someone say I was selfish for not wanting kids. I don't see how that makes any sense, and personally think its the opposite.
As a mother, let me tell you something that I really wish I had been told when I got pregnant seven years ago. It is true that (most likely), you're gonna love your child if it's there and yes, it's a very special experience and there are a lot of good parts to it. BUT it is NOT true, that you automatically become a kids-person, even if you weren't before if it is about your own child. It is NOT true, that you'll never regret it once the kid is there. The things you have to give up when raising a child are very big and intense and, depending on your personality, what is left of the life you would have wanted is sometimes depressing. The guilt trip society (and you yourself) will put you through every single day for not being able to enjoy your cage, simply because there's a little human you love in there with you, doesn't help either. And I know, saying this will make me seem like a monster to many women (don't worry, my son is fine) but when I searched for advise back then, the only things I always got told was "No matter how hard it's gonna be, it'll all be worth it" and "When the baby is there, you won't regret it for a second". And that turned out to be completely false. Maybe I am a monster, I don't know, but I don't think I'm the only one.

23:33 The whole disguised lesson in a goofy video thing is also a lesson in itself to not judge people based on a handful of things. You never know what someone's story is, or what may have happened to them to make them the way that they are. Don't get me wrong, some people are just bad/rude and are just out to get others, but just always be thinking about who you are dealing with and what you really know about them.
I really enjoy your videos because they are genuine and silly, but you tell people that life isn't just silliness and fun. There is a 'grown-up' aspect of it. Like, you have a 'regular' or 'traditional' job, but you still have fun on the side doing TH-cam. It really is a good message you are spreading and I encourage you to keep it up! Hi Cristine! I'm 20 years old and I live with my mom.
Okay so when I watch your videos, I usually use headphones because she doesn't appreciate swearing and we have a small house. Usually if it's a small amount of 'language' I don't necessarily need headphones but since there's the occasional shout of a swear pretty consistently, I wear headphones to respect what she doesn't want to hear. What I need to cover most in my house is the use of the Lord's name in vain. My mother was raised Catholic and I was raised protestant and she always stressed the importance of not saying 'God' or 'Jesus' without speaking about them. I'm cool with other people speaking that way because that's their life, they're allowed to talk however they like. But my mother finds multiple uses of those names (especially 'Jesus') to be distasteful and appreciates when I keep that to myself. I also have a point where using the Lord's name excessively turns me off to a video but that's never been the case with your channel.
I think another reason parents might find you to be a bad role model is because they dont actually watch the videos. They check in on their kids and see a woman chatting, swearing, and painting her nails. Which at a glance doesn't seem like someone they'd want their kid to be like. What they likely often miss is your encouragement to be informed, responsible, and to work hard to get your education.
I personally believe you're a good role model. You always encourage education and learning, hard work, being true to yourself despite social expectations, and responsible behavior like saving money and having a job. What you teach through example is charity, healthy relationships, and that being an adult can be fun. You have a hobby and through TH-cam and Snapchat and Instagram stories you show going out and spending time with friends and family.
If anyone has read this far I'm shocked lol.
Anyway this is why I think parents think you're a bad role model and why I think you're not.
