And this is why he’s one of the best drummers in the world. This is why you should open your ears to everything. The sign of a true musician. Wow was that fun to listen to
Can't begin to say enough good things about Gregg - not just as a musician but also as a person. Hands down one of the nicest dudes anywhere. Super humble. And his skill speaks for itself. Not to mention his professional resume. He would never brag about his accomplishments but he's played with countless A-list artists. I mean, the Buddy Rich Band & Ringo Star Band alone says it all. Not to mention sharing the stage with Vinnie Colaiuta & Steve Gadd. So much respect for this guy. And a great teacher on top of that. Hope you're doing well Gregg! Props to this channel for having him on too. Thank you guys \m/
he always plays so incredible musically! Gregg is definitely one of the best all around drummers from Jazz to Fusion to Rock. Enjoyment to see him play every time!!!
When he came to Jakarta, back in early 2000s I guess, that was the first time I saw an international drummer clinic, and it was worthy watching him play with his set ups. He was promoting Janus - double pedal product from Mapex, featured by our 3 amazing local drummers (Echa Soemantri - still 9 or 10 yo at that time, Fajar Satritama - Edane, Sandy Andarusman - U'camp & PAS band). And now watching this video, he is still an amazing drummer. Thank you Gregg for your inspirational playing.
I saw Gregg at a workshop here in Australia...... maybe 1991/1992. Blew me away when I was a kid, and still blows me away today! Very cool. Love his dynamics and control.
I have VHS tapes of Gregg. Now I have your channel. Things have changed. Gregg, you sir, have run and evolved, and are the best drum teacher ever. Thank you. Huge respect. Thank you Drumeo.
One of the greatest solos that I’ve ever seen! So musical, technical, incredible creativity and feel. Gregg is the pros pro! If I was searching for a musical career, he’s probably was going to be my main reference.
Well you Mr.Bissonette, she has a remarkable rhythmic fantasy, in this solo nothing trivial player, quite the opposite, great sense of rhythm, precision, and above all great fantasy, very good, it was a pleasure to listen to him play.
@@stikkman61 Electronic drums are only something I would use in an apartment ,they never have ever sounded as good as Acoustic drums[real] drums. The thing that I do like about electronic drums is the fact that one can get many sounds out of it without having to buy cow bells, wood blocks , chimes ,etc.
WANNA THANK JARED AND BOYZ FROM DRUMEO FOR LETTING ME KNOW DEEPER THIS ARTIST.. WHO’S, SPEAKING FOR MYSELF’S GROOVE ATTITUDE, FLIPPING MY WORLD UPSIDE DOWN.. DAMN ROBUST!! PEACE🌱💜 Pres
I'm a 59 year old Brit who's been drumming for 45 years and only today have i heard of this guy! Jeez . I can't believe it ! . Mind you being in the UK AND not being particularly " into " his Bands etc . I can see how .The sad loss of Neil peart , who i revered , is lessened somewhat by this discovery .

I’d never heard of DIXON drums, until last year... Quite impressed with their sound. Gregg uses them when backing RINGO, who of course, is still using his great Ludwigs. I’m just not a fan of muffling...tape, moongel, or anything else, especially when demonstrating a kit, to show its true sound.
Go back and watch Greg sit in with the Buddy Rich orchestra for the memorial back in "88 like he's an actual big band drummer wearing a mullet wig, and be prepared to have your jaw crack from dropping on the floor..
I can do some cool rudiments on my Alesis electronic kit and can play along with some of the sample songs. I know Greg played with Satriani and countless others, but he should be hearing my cool shit too. And, what's up with Greg playing all those things that aren't 4/4?? If I only had his drum set....sure I could do all that.
Love your "Swampy" Feel @ th-cam.com/video/eOrRTXw2VxM/w-d-xo.html is super cool. You contributed some grooves to a sample libray that supported Hurricane Katrina recovery (Spectrasonics was the developer) and your feel was SO DOWN HOME! - Yet you can also "shred" and the double bass drum stuff is seriously fun! I loved every single note!
And this is why he’s one of the best drummers in the world. This is why you should open your ears to everything. The sign of a true musician. Wow was that fun to listen to
First off: Sound Engineer! Mad Props!
Second: The sheer talent it took to write this 13 minute non-stop Drum solo/groove is indescribable.
Nobody wrote it. It's improv.
Everything he is playing is so creative, yet it makes sense. Absolute top tier.
a few years ago Gregg came and played with my high school percussion ensemble, and being on stage and playing with him was absolutely surreal.

Absolutely fantastic performance
INCREDIBLE!! A TRUE MASTER, PURE MUSIC AND INSPIRATION!! THANK YOU MR. BISSONNETTE
So incredibly tasty and musical - he explores the myriad of sounds available on a simple 4 piece acoustic drum kit - love it! 👏
what is the difference between regular & acoustic drum kit? do you mean using brushes makes them acoustic?
electroboy Acoustic drums vs electronic drums

Just so great and musical!
His foot work is absolutely 💯 amazing

God rested after creating Gregg Bissonette
His solos are always interesting! Great 🤲🏼 for the guy editing the footage, always SPOT ON!👍🏾

I love gregg bissonette - because he is a very fun and entertaining character. Hoh yeah did I say he's a great drummer?

I must admit I buzzed out for a second there: "did Greg Bisonette just do Donald Duck?"
Great solo!
Great Bissonette!!!!😊🔝💪

oh my god, it is so musical too, crazy

Would like to hear Gregg demonstrate the new Dixon budget steel snare.
I have one and they sound surprisingly good.
Buwahahaha... i cant get over from that duck fx..!!! So cool.. unexpected
Beautiful shell wraps! Is that sparkle or glass glitter?
It's either splitter or glarkle...definitely!
@@charlesmcfinley679 Better than polid or searl.
called "deep purple sparkle," lacquer no wrap!from Dixon Artisan series
Superb!
Wow, just WOW: I love this guy!! Does he give drum lessons??? RnMT
Nice
The solo styles are cool, but THAT CASING!! 😍😍😍🤤
You look like 1983 Rob Halford
A true virtuoso!
Gregg is great drummer!) 👍👍👍
does anyone know if this is transcribed and what the list of styles hes playing???
This man just had a fight with his drum set and won

Hitting the underside of the snare is a new one..

Hehe, he IS an actual big band drummer though (that was his whole career until he got the David Lee Roth gig, so it's no wonder he did well there :)
the writing on the snare denotes what he's "scheduled" to play, idk why i find this interesting. is this a thing?
Holaaa

Some kind of crash efect cymbal over china.
The Donald Duck fill rocks 😂

Confusing, and a bit disappointing...
Ma chi sono quelli che han messo dislike??? Fate di meglio???? GO GREGG

Were 9 of those styles Jazz??
You obviously didn't watch the whole thing.
I can make the same faces he does but on the toilet pot.
4.03 Donald duck style!
Amazing, but judging by some of those expressions, I think a bit of poo slipped out 2 or 3 times. OOPs should have gone first.

@@charlesmcfinley679 there is a common thread in that list, the ability to groove - add Mike Clark, Garibaldi. I don't hear it with Gregg.
Its a solo. It's ideas, fills and chops. He had different grooves thrown in with the other stuff. Just like Dennis does.
Hahaha Big deal!!
