- 1967 Lincoln Continental Convertable ignition issues - Before my wife and I can take this 1967 Lincoln Continental on a date night, I have to diagnose and fix an ignition problem. I replace an ignition coil and find where the sparkplug wires are jumping spark. Then we take this awesome car on a date night to a drive-in movie!
Very cool car! I own a '62 Lincoln convertible, and it is so much FUN - my dream car since I was a kid!
You have the exact taste in vehicles I do 😀😀
I miss that car, but not the problems that came with it. I owned the same '67. turquoise with a white top. Stunning!
Mine had a few more miles and wear than yours'. and I didn't have the money or time take care of it properly at the time. Issues popped up every day 30 + years ago.
First things to fail for me were the brake lights & turn signals. This meant pulling the steering wheel and replacing the switch module on the steering column. Nasty job. Next were the relays & motors for the deck lid and convertible top. When they go bad, they really go bad. Pleased to now learn there is still a company in California that specializes in parts and repairs for just this. Lincoln & Thunderbirds.
I experienced the same exhaust leak you mentioned. An annoying "click" under the hood. The Jury is still out, but I understand the exhaust manifolds and heads were not designed for gaskets.
Nice Car.
Thank you! I appreciate that.
@@stayathomegarage let me know if you ever decide to sell it.
