Thanks SO MUCH for checking out my fan-made audio project and thanks to everyone involved! I'll be doing an FAQ of this project over the next week so if you have any questions or even just things to say about it/feedback, please post them in the comments!
Also, hit "like" to appease that almighty TH-cam algorithm!

In the past, I've amateurishly dabbled in creating and voicing some Who audio drama-esque things, and I'm enjoying this particular one - so much kudos goes to you. The voice acting is spot on, both in delivery and cadence - and enlisting the skills of Alia for this project is a very smart move, also :)

I finally got around to listening to this, and my God was the hype worth it. All the voice actors have done a fantastic job, you can hear that they're all pouring their heart into their acting. (That Jodie impression is scarily spot on)
I haven't seen many people praising the soundtrack, every piece fitted the scene so well.
I can easily see this fitting into series 12 on TV
This was a great listen, brilliant work to everybody on the Collateral of Ivanhoe team
EDIT: Coming back to listen to the scene at 46:35 made me very emotional.

Looking forward to CyberCember too. I can only assume that the use of the Torchwood soundtrack in the trailer is a nod to the greatest Cyber-story/Chris Chibnall script in the Doctor Who canon - Cyberwoman.

Ngl, I didn't do a deep dive into the timeline.
But you could argue it's a matter of semantics. Yeah, you can do businesses and trade, but when it comes to creating currencies, investments etc. Ivanhoe and Caros Obsono could have been one of the first. She does say "One of".
Or maybe it's a slogan the Doctor repeats ("Kerblam It!").

I've been watching this channel since the early days, back in 2010/2011 and this is truly an amazing place for it to have ended up. I've been listening to the Big Finish productions for months now and this is almost on par with those. The passion and talent gone into it really makes it come to life.
Jodie Doctor's voice actor is perfect, Graham and Yazz were in the right ballpark, Ryan's actor was good (better than Tosin Cole IMO) but didn't sound much like Ryan.
There was some really strong acting from the other members of the cast. Loved the dynamic between Jules and the Doctor and I especially liked the connection to a past incarnation. These are the kind of stories that I love to see.
If I was to be critical, I'd say that the recorded voices being different quality kind of damages the emersion. Jodiedoctor sounds like she's stuck in a broom cupboard for example. I imagine it's hard doing this with little budget, especially during Covid but I figured I'd mention it in case the issue could be improved a little. I think it's the only thing that holds it back from being truly on par with a BFP.
You outdid yourself with this one MTR, loved it a great deal and I'll likely come back to it a few times. Thanks for making this and I look forward to more, should it come.

Nice to listen to another story with them before the year is over. Thank you so much for making this and thanks to all the people involved with it as well. An excellent stand-alone adventure that felt like a spiritual-successor to the themes put forth by the series 11 story Kerblam, with a few teething troubles.
Firstly, major credit to the voice actors who perform their roles admirably; particular praise going to Wendy Abrahams and Alie E. Torrie as the Doctor and Jewel respectively, who steal the show whenever they're on the soundwaves(?).
The sound design and music was also excellent and really sold each moment and new location.
While I mentioned up top that the voice acting was generally good in terms of the acting, some of the voices did not sit right with me. Ryan's voice actor should be commended for trying to pull off such a unique voice as Tosin Cole, but a lot of the time his voice sounds too cartoony to the point where the whole mood of a scene can shift from an intense hostage situation to a Chuckle Brothers routine. Gem's voice actor sometimes comes across as if he should be in an abridged series, sounding too old to be as impetuous as he's supposed to be. Also, a minor point and an understandable one seeing as this is not a professional release, but the varying quality on everyone's mikes did take me out of the experience sometimes.
This next point may be more down to me more so the production itself, but the trailer and introduction seem to be selling this as a BigFinish-like audio, so when the storybook narration kicked in, I was a little off put by it as I was expecting the sound design, music and dialogue to tell the story rather than an omniscient narrator.
The Tardis Team and bank robbers are well characterized, but the bank employees are left feeling more like symbols and exposition-dumpers rather than living, breathing people; Although, there is enough personality and backstory divided amongst them to make it so that you don't want anything bad to happen to them.
One last point is the Doctor's speech to Yaz about trust. Now, in a vacuum this speech is wonderful and easily the most iconic 13th Doctor moment that the 13th Doctor never actually said, but when placed in the wider context of series 11 and 12, this intense closeness between the pair, for me anyway, does not ring true. This is the sort of thing I could imagine the tenth Doctor saying to Rose in the latter half of series 2, but here, with these characters, it does feel a bit forced. This is more of a criticism of the official show rather than this audio, but it's something I felt while watching and wanted to bring up.
Overall, a successful first outing and I'd love to have more adventures with your interpretations of these characters. I give Doctor Who: The Collateral of Ivanhoe a stamp of CANON. P.S. really looking forward to Cybercember (what a great end trailer!)

    • @MrTARDIS
      @MrTARDIS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

The aim was to put it almost anywhere in Series 12 (between 'Spyfall Part 2' and 'The Haunting of Villa Diodati').
However, upon reflection, none of the Fam are questioning who/what the Judoon are. So maybe between 'Praxeus' and 'The Haunting of Villa Diodati'.It's definitely after 'Resolution' because of the closer relationship between Ryan and Graham (Ryan frequently says "Grandad").

    • @mayotango1317

@@MrTARDIS Great, what Series 12 lacks most are more episodes set on other planets.
For the next audio drama, could it be a pure historical with the Twelfth Doctor, Bill and Nardole? He never had the opportunity (on screen) to meet a historical celebrity, perhaps a musician because of his appreciation for the electric guitar.
