All opinions or statements in this video are my own and do not reflect the opinion of the company I work for or have ever worked for
Currently in the process of going through three different interviews after submitting around 30 applications. I got 2 of them by reaching out to recruiters after watching a couple videos where you mentioned this strategy!
That's great to hear! Best of luck! :D
How are you doing now? Did you get the job?
@@nishipishi happy to say that I did get the job! Iâve been in the position for almost 7 months now :)
@@ryandirajlal2855 congratulations! I'm very happy for you.
Congrats! can I ask what the position is?
I was doing a lot of research last night, and I said I would look into networking on LinkedIn in the morning and this is the very first video that I saw! Perfect timing thank you Alex!
your tips on working with recruiters are spot-on, especially the message prompt - short, sweet, and professionally crafted. The attention to detail like profile pictures and bios truly emphasizes the importance of first impressions. It's those little things that make a big difference!
This is awesome. I am on job search and i will be following these strategies ð
Thanks for great tips Alex! ð
This was very informative. I didn't realize some of those LinkedIn features existed
This video highlights the crucial aspect of job applying and that is to make a connection with a recruiter or person of the company before/during the hiring process
Thanks a lot Alex! You have shared a lot of info here, will try your strategies for sure ;-)
Hey! Alex is looking for another job. ðð
You're so amazingð
Much thanks Alex for this
Super helpful, thank you!
Thank you very much Alex
I clicked the like button 5 seconds after the video started ð. I really need this and am definitely going to use it ASAP. Thanks again Alexð
Best of luck!
Thanks a lot Alex!
much needed ð
Thanks Alexð
Hey Alex, could you do a video on AI sometime and if it will affect data analysts ? appreciate your content
Perfectð
Graduating with my MS soon and am feeling overwhelmed at the lack of responses, but I haven't applied to a lot of places yet. Hoping this can help.
Hi Alex! So, I'm currently an Instructional Designer and interested in transitioning over into Data Analytics. It seems ALOT of people are transitioning over into this field. I would love to take your Bootcamp to get a solid foundation, but I'm worried that the field is becoming too saturated. What are your thoughts on this?
Hi Alex,
I'm not sure why I couldn't find this option (finding new job) in my profile. Can you assist?
I'd like to know how many career changers with one of the boot camp certificates was successful with this. I've been trying for a little over a month and recruiters couldn't have wanted less to do with me. The ones that actually responded are only looking for experienced people.
Hi Alex, I've been following your channel for a while and now I want to start a career in data analysis. I have been trying to download SSMS to start your course and it's just not working, I have deleted and downloaded it several times but it's still asking me to repair it. Is there anything I can do or another app I can download? I'm thinking of skipping SQL for now because of that. Please help I want to start the course as soon as possible.
What are your recommendations for someone with no college/job experience?
I'm not able to take a skill test, and it's not visible in the skills also. Please help me out.
I donât have âbuild a resumeâ tab on more in my profile, what should I do??
Please I am new to data analysis and I haven't been able to gather any tangible experience to prove my skills, also there are no available job opening so do you have any idea on how I can get an entry level Job
Alex bro thanks great video âĨïļ, I want advise from you as you have been in Data Analyst field, I haven't been good with communication skills, Can I enter into the data Analyst field and Can I stay for long term in data analyst field without good communication skills, And is there any other channel to communicate through, Kindly give me advise on that Alex Thanks
Hi Alex, just a quick note to edit the tense of the note: "I came across your companies job posting" - should be "company's"
Thanks!
Thanks for the donation my friend :)
Alex, if you do get a recruiter to respond, what should you "chat" about that seems genuine?
Alex, just starting my job search and your video could not have come at a better time. I'm deciding between a blog or posting on LinkedIn. Do you think one is more effective than another for getting a job? Also, any update on the course? I've been saving my money the last few months so I can sign-up once it comes out.
I think both are good - LinkedIn has a built in network so it's a good place to start. I think a Blog is good after that. And I'll start making announcements for the waitlist next week! I'm so honored to hear that! We are looking to launch in about 3-4 week so you'll start seeing a lot of stuff soon :)
I get contacted by quite a few recruiters on LinkedIn but it's annoying when they then don't answer you or provide any more details.
Not all recruiters are built the same lol
Does this require linkedin premium?
Hey Alex, thanks for sharing. I think thereâs some information that needs to be highlighted, and is related to de direct messages on LinkedIn, this is something that comes only with the premium suscription, am i right?
Best!
correct
Do you recommend reaching out to recruiters even if you haven't applied to a specific job. Let's say you want to work at HubSpot but there are no data analyst jobs that are a good fit at the moment. Can/Should I still reach out to recruiters to ask them about potential opportunities in the future?
You can, I haven't tried this personally. May be harder to land a job like that, but couldn't hurt I think.
I get many reaching out to me and I'd say 80%+ ghost you on LI. Good luck...
Haha just keeping it real :D
I work with recruiters fairly often, however, there are some scammers out there unfortunately, so be wise about who you share your information with. I had an "interesting" person who requested my full social security number, so that's when I politely said no thank you. smh..
Definitely something to watch out for!
Definitely be careful about sharing your personal data with people online. I interviewed for a senior leadership position at a startup and got to the final stage where they were requesting for a ton of personal info, in addition to references. This was even before I received the offer. I shared my personal details with them...and guess what? They ghosted me afterwards. Be really careful about shady companies. Stand your ground and never let the need to get a job compromise protection and safeguarding of your personal details.
Is there a way to message recruiters without LinkedIn premium?
No
Does he know exactly where Iâm at in my job journey?!
Yes I do my friend...
How to build perfect resume for fresher in data analyst role
And finding a job as a fresher, most company looks out for 10 years of experience
I made a video on this about a month ago :)
@AlexTheAnalyst you did and its a freat video. problem at least for me is actually finding fresher role that isn't asking for 5 years experience and a bachelor degree in CS.
â@@ryuhayabusa3540Unfortunately, on LinkedIn, the entry-level field is kind of screwed. Form what I've seen, it happens, because most recruiters are copy pasting/exporting the "job board posts" to different sites and if they haven't manually changed the "experience" field, the default is "Entry". So you end up with thousands of senior positions advertised as entry.
And as a whole, most companies want experienced people, so it's doubling the issue

The filtering part requires you to have linkedin premium right?
I don't have Premium - so I'm pretty sure not
@@AlexTheAnalyst thanks ð
Thank you @Alex the analyst for always. I tried to connect with you on LinkedIn, Iâd appreciate if you accept. Thank you
Hi Alex , I am struggling to get an interview call, may be because i have a huge career gap(9year). Can you suggest something?
@Alex The Analyst
say you were freelancing or make up that you had a part time retail job that they wont care about
