  • This video is not sponsored, I am reviewing this backpack because I really love the Away brand, and have recently purchased this back to accompany the Away Bigger Carry-on suitcase which I have been using for one year, and love it.
    I use this backpack as my main camera and tech bag, and have used it as my personal item carry-on on two trips so far. After recently taking it to Warsaw to celebrate New Years Eve, I'm sharing my thoughts and opinions on this spacious and durable backpack.
    I hope you enjoyed the video, please leave it a thumbs up if you liked it, subscribe if you loved it, and please leave me a comment with your thoughts and feedback.

    Awesome review! Very informative and concise! Could you also review the Away Everywhere Zip Backpack sometime? I can only find one review for the large and one review for the small. It's 20L and I was thinking of replacing my Everywhere Bag with it as I want to transition to a backpack. If you do review it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it being used for Personal Item Only travel at only 20L.

      Hi Cottonie, thanks for your kind words - as i'm not sponsored and a minimalist, I haven't got that one on my list - I have just purchased the Away large (checked luggage) and will be reviewing that soon. But if Away are reading and want to reach out to send me a Everywhere Zip Backback, I would be happy to review it :)

    I bought this and ordered after-market sternum straps but I am not sure how well that will work as they kind of slip down. So I am on the fence about returning it because I like the squishable and water-repellent fabric so much, as well as the look. I cannot even find another one I like that is 1.75 lbs or less.

      I've had this for a year now, I had it with me the whole time for 6 months of travel, and will make a follow up. Overall I still highly recommend it, I now squish it down in my suitcase and use as a day bag and at home in London I use it as a gym bag. It's light, durable, very comfortable to wear when fully packe out, even without the sternum strap, and what i really like about it is that when it's not fully packed out the shape kind of contours to make it appear smaller. I've trekked through a thai jungle with it, used it on many beaches, had it on a boat where it was getting splashed and in monsoon weather in bangkok, it held up exceptionally well. I couldn't be happoer with it.

      Ah great, you'll love it. I mostly use mine as a Tech bag, and will be doing a follow up in a few months with it's use as a camera and tech bag.

    thanks for this review, how well does it stand up on its own with a laptop on it?

    • @danhogston
      @danhogston  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dylan, i've been using this bag extensively this year as a full time travel, tech, and gym bag... i'm beyound impressed with it actually. If just the laptop and not nothing in the main compartment then it won't stand by itself... it all depends on whats in the main compartment really, i often have a camera / tech cube flat down in the main compartment and it stand sup great by itself, but for most uses - gym gear, camera sling and tripod, just laptop and daily tech, then it will need to lean against something when you put it down.

    I thinking to purchase this one of these... do the straps at the front have any use or are they purely for aesthetic purposes?

    • @danhogston
      @danhogston  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dom, it’s a great bag, I have used it extensively as my main camera and tech bag over the past eight months, as well as a gym bag and general adventure bag. it’s really held up well, particularly in Thailand in monsoon season. I will do a long term review next month. I personally haven’t used the straps for anything, but, I guess you could attach or tie gear or a jacket to it.

    to big for norwegian , ryanair and nextjet, however, looks like a darn nice bag

      Hi Jonas, should be fien with Norwegian - they use the same aircraft as EasyJet and WizzAir - I flew with Norwegian in June, I took a different bag, but there was enough space for the biiger carry-on for sure.

      ahh - wrong video, I also reviewed the Away Bigger Carry-On... I flew with Norwegian a couple of times a year, I reckon you could get away witht his under the seat.

      @@danhogston the airplane isnt the problem. problem is luggage sizes vart in order to upsell the fate to include the larger size.
