    I just recently realized a good style for myself. Skinny jeans with a spaghetti strap undershirt and a top that sits higher by a few inches above the bottom of the undershirt.
    I usually wear this style, but with a top that almost completely matches the length of the undershirt or just rises above it by an inch or two. Leading me to always have to pull it down so it won’t be bunched up and hidden under the top shirt.
    I just got a compliment on my outfit today while checking out by a girl and I was pleasantly surprised. I never get compliments on anything I wear from women.
    It feels more special when another woman likes an outfit. I feel like men might try to use the outfit as an excuse to hit on me, so I take it with a grain of salt lol
    Also, these are some really great tips. I want to change my style and this is gunna help a lot with my choices now

    I have watched so many body type dressing videos on youtube, this is the most accurate and honest one. I have a slim rectangle body shape. Over the years, through a lot of try and error, I figured out the similar conclusions Erica explained here. Stiff button down shirt is considered universal essential piece in every stylish women's wardrobe by so many youtubers, a lot of them claimed they are professional stylists. It never looks right on me as it makes me look boyish . Instead I found fitted silk shirts or knitted tops look so much more flattering. And yes, oversized clothes look really bad on me-I look like a homeless boyish women wearing man's donated clothes.

      Thanks for sharing your experience here. Before having my daughter my shape was much more of a rectangle (now I'm more of a pear) and I had tried wearing a white button-up shirt but I never felt great in it. I too found a silk shirt to be so much more flattering for me. 😊

    All tips were on point here for us rectangle girls. It is so true about the classic white shirt. I find I still like to wear them but I always go for the shirts that are nipped in the waist and wear a push-up bra to give my small chest a little help. Also fitted tank midi dresses like the one Victoria B has on is my best friend. Gives me curves I didn’t know I had. My favorite style dress hands down!

    Thanks for the tips. Do you have a video for Rectangle shape for winter wear? Trying to figure out how to Taylor to my shape for the colder months

    • @EricaBallStyle
      @EricaBallStyle  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your question Tegan! I don't have a video that focuses on the body shapes and cold weather wear (great idea though!). The principles are the same in terms of silhouettes for a rectangle shape. If you're wearing a coat or sweater try something more fitted to your shape. Also, look for added fabric details like pleats in wool pants to widen that area and give the illusion of more curves. Accentuate the waist with a French tuck of your sweaters. Hope that helps ❤

    Need some tips on rectangular shape but short torso. A lot of these things won’t work on me

    • @EricaBallStyle
      @EricaBallStyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of these styling tips do work for a rectangle shape with a short torso. When you have a short torso you want to think about lengthening the appearance of your torso. You can do that by wearing bottoms that are more mid and low-rise instead of high-rise.

    • @EricaBallStyle

      Are you curvy but the measurement of your waist is close to your bust and hips Charlee? If yes, I would think about defining your waist and wearing clothes that are tailored to your body.

    I see why I’m so drawn to shirts with a bit of a puff sleeve at the shoulder, they help balance me out.

    I don’t know what I am. I’m 5’2, short torso, skinny arms and legs putting weight in the middle, but 38b in the bust. I wear pasties at this point (should’ve thought of this years ago) as it’s nearly impossible to find 38b off the rack. Apple puts on weight in the middle, but you say they have large breasts. I don’t. I’d be a rectangle, but I don’t put weight on everywhere, just the middle. 🤷‍♀️. Btw, I just found this channel and I’m already in love with it 💕

    I have two problems. I am a rectangle but 1) my bust is huge (DD) and 2) I am an androgynous woman, so ruffles, wraps, and bows are a hard no for me. Please help.

    • @EricaBallStyle
      @EricaBallStyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you sure you are a rectangle? Typically rectangle shapes aren't curvy, they are more straight. You don't need to wear ruffles, etc. if that doesn't align with your style. Rectangle shapes can easily wear most things so I would wear what you love!

    • @monkeyzuncle1
      @monkeyzuncle1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EricaBallStyle Thanks, Erica! Yes, I believe so. I have a big chest but no curves anywhere else. Flat butt, no hips or waist. I'm a straight line all the way down. I've finally figured out straight pants look best on me but can't figure out tops. Most t-shirts look bad. I think it's my large chest. Buttondowns look pretty good, but I don't want to be limited to them.

    • @EricaBallStyle
      @EricaBallStyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@monkeyzuncle1 You sound more like an apple shape than a rectangle. A rectangle has almost equal measurements in the bust, waist, and hip. Where an apple is more like you described. See if this video resonates with you th-cam.com/video/ytiBA72GMXQ/w-d-xo.html

    Though you give good advice, the missing ingredient is quite a lot of people needs everyday clothing for everyday life errands

    • @EricaBallStyle
      @EricaBallStyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. I live in everyday clothing too! I can see how a lot of the photo examples show more dressed-up looks which aren't practical for day-to-day life. The styling principles if you're wearing casual or dressy looks are the same but I can see how it will be helpful to add more casual examples too. Thank you for your feedback!
