- Song: 'Another's Lifetime'
Artist: Steppenwolf
Composer: W Berry
Album: 'Hour of the Wolf' (1975)
Beautiful song from Steppenwolf! From the group's 1975 album 'Hour of the Wolf' track 7.
Video pics are of sceneries.. don't think it does the song justice.. but I hope you enjoy it :)
lyrics:
What's the name
Of your latest companion
Do I know him
Have you told him what you told me
What's the course
Of your latest adventure
Does he track you, will he back you
Can he keep you free
{Chorus}:
There is more to life than dreaming
There is more to love than makin' it
There is more to you than meets the eye
What's the state
Of your new situation
Is he giving
Is he willing to let you be
What's the chance
For your new true confession
Does he make it, will he fake it
Can he really see
{Chorus}
One way or another
We all lose a lover
Some live, some die
Some never learn to try
One love for another's lifetime
What's the price
Of your passing confusion
Have you sold out, can I hold out
Can I live that long
What's the dream
In the back of your memory
Can you say it, do you pray
Has your memory gone
{Chorus}
One way or another
We all lose a lover
Some die, some live
Some never learn to give
One love for another's lifetime
{Chorus}:
There is more to life than dreaming
There is more to love than makin' it
There is more to you than meets the eye
One way or another
We all lose a lover
Some live, some die
Some never learn to try
One love for another's lifetime...
This is one of my favorite songs. Good taste from BRAZIL
One of Steppenwolf's greatest songs, in which not many people have heard before and a beautiful serene video to go with it. There is more to life than dreaming, there is more to love than makin' it, and there is more to you than meets the eye Christine :) Ritchie
I agree Ritchie, its like a hidden gem. I love this song, a newer favorite for me :) Thank-you for introducing me to it, as it's truly beautiful. And thank-you on more than meets the eye, as this goes both ways ♥ Christine
IF you like this it is from their later work check out their 1st &2nd albums also for our current state of this country check out monster released in 1969 it is has been relevant beer decade since
This song is actually a cover. Another's lifetime was originally written and recorded by Wayne Berry and can be found on his 1974 album "Home at last". Just thought I'd give credit to the original artist. This is a good cover though.
Thanks for pointing out it's a cover version. The composer W. Berry is listed in the description. I will check his out.. appreciate the info on his album Home at last. It's a beautiful song!
It's excellent. I love both versions! I didn't know it was recorded by the composer. Very nice! Thanks again :)
@@northerntassel4951 your welcome. And yeah most people don't know that this is a cover. Just figured I'd introduce a few folks to the very underrated Wayne Berry.
@@northerntassel4951 Ted Neeley covered this song as well. Look up his version. It's pretty good.
@@retromania8269 I went back to listen to Wayne Berry's original, and really like the horns on it. I don't think I ever heard of Wayne Berry before (yet I noted he wrote the song in the info). He has a great voice too! yes underrated!
