I love how music can be a time machine. It not only takes me back to that time, but where I was at, the friends that I had and what I was into at that time. I mean it is cliche, but it is the sound track of your life.

It's insane how good these guys sounded together. Neil Young and Rick "Superfreak" James on paper are the most unlikely of artists to team up in a band. This is truly one of those lost, forgotten about chapters in early Rock & Roll that is begging to be explored. That being said, I'm very glad that they never made it, because Neil & Rick needed to go it alone.

It took me almost 1/2 century to finally hear this song since September 1971, I was only 8. 87.7 METV Was the best thing that happened on the radio here in Chicago. This and many other songs that were rarely played can be heard on ME TV where Sirius radio never plays what ME TV plays.

This song is the very embodiment of pleasure, no matter how you define it. And it has a unintentional reference to another great Canadian band: Russshhh.

Being from upstate New York, I noticed that a good deal of Canadian singles hit harder here than in other parts of the US (except maybe Detroit) - possible due to the proximity to superstation CKLW. This single was one of them. It was my introduction to Edward Bear and it is still is my favorite. It is their most inventive sounding single mixing equal parts whimsy and melancholy. The arrangement suggests Mexico while staying completely Canadian (no small feat). This should have been a lot bigger here than it was.
