I think teaming these guys up with Paul was genious. He really did manage them. He took care of the bookings, car rentals, flights, hotels, and investments. All they had to focus in was, wrestling. I had the privilege to watch these guys train at a gym in Oakland Park Florida. Watching them lift and drop elbows on each other in between sets.
You sound exactly like you watched a youtube video about these Clowns ..Hawk Skipped leg day his entire life piece of Racist Shit ..got knocked out twice for calling out his mouth Dirty comments ..1992 John Parrella Japan and 1995 Korea 2Cold Scorpio .... google it ....
Didn't think I'd see the full version of this since the Dark Side of the Ring episode they did on Hawk. This is really amazing to witness. #RoadWarriors #RIP
Back in the early 90's I used to work out at the same gym Animal (and sometimes Hawk) trained in Plymouth, MN. I remember working in on a set of preacher curls with Animal and Mike Enos (one of the Beverly Brothers/Destruction Crew). Both were ordinary guys just there to train.
@@shamrock32 Nope. No Norton. I saw Masa Saito once. HUGE calves. Rick Rude I saw once (he was in WCW at the time, so he must have been on the road). Kevin Wacholz (Nailz/Kevin Kelly) I saw a few times. Curt Hennig was there every day, but I never saw him work out. He would just hang around the front desk and shoot the bull. I didn't understand why at the time, but I later learned that he had injured his back and received an insurance payout (the back injury seemed to have been completely legit, or at least it was bad enough that he could not even train).
Lol, you’re showing your age, bro. Additionally, you had to GET UP and WALK to the VCR and push tracking. We had a “remote” control that plugged into our VCR with a 10’ cord and we thought we were privileged!
These guys were true inspirations. Especially Animal (Joe Laurinaitis). Hawk had his own demons he battled even during Pro Wrestling, but these guys were truly strong dudes that had an aura of being real badasses. As a kid, I only ever saw WWF wrestling shows on TV because that's all we had. But I'd see these guys in the wrestling magazines and was BLOWN away by their look and the fact they would walk out to Black Sabbath song, Iron Man. That was unique for wrestling at the time.
@@d-mo733 Actually you are wrong. Stick your No up your rectum. Joe Laurinaitis had briefly competed as the Road Warrior before Ole Anderson paired him up with Mike Hegstrand to form the Road Warriors in 1983. All you had to do was look it up before you say no to something.
By 1997 the only thing that made Hawk look like one of the Road Warriors was the paint and the haircut. The physique was long gone. The only gym time Hawk got in all year was probably for this video. I know I heard an interview with Animal that Hawk liked to get in and out of the gym as quick as possible. Hawk went from one of the most amazing upper-body physiques in 1987 to looking like a jobber in 1997.
And Paul ( manager) for his size and weight deadlifting and just power lifting the weight he lifted is great have somebody at Paul's bodyweight try lifting what he did was hard .And why didn't they just say from Minnesota The Road Warriors because their The Road Warriors they could come flower rang not going to matter and start telling whee their from and people would be shocked how many come from Minnesota I am from Michigan we have good ones also but they put out monsters the one bar where they bounced how that bar if still was around if he has a group photo of all his bouncers together is worth a lot I would think and how many became Hall of Famers wow
Strange, Hawk says Brody and Hanson, but sounds like they faced them? Or maybe he's confused and means they would be the toughest? They had a match with Hanson and Race, but I have never heard of one including Brody?
Yeah they’re both dead, but hundreds of millions of people all around the world will talk about them for decades to come. When you die, your family will talk about you for a couple of years and then you’ll be forgotten. Who has the better legacy?
RIP Hawk and Animal
Animal was one of the strongest prowrestlers in the gym and Hawk had one of the most chiseled physiques in prowrestling

Very Interesting stories both of those... But Legion of doom is still bad as fuck ..
Wow, is it just me or Animal could talk!
RIP Michael Hegstrand - Hawk
I met them in the gym ...very nice people ! I had no fear when they spotted me on my squats
Bullshit. They are pro's, they are at the gym working, they have a very disciplined routine and wouldn't give you the time of day...
They often spoke with us powerlifters and yes, they spotted me on squats!@@dennis8309
@dennis8309 how exactly do you know that? Not every pro Is a cunt like you lol.
It's not bullshit.
They always trained together except for legs, Animal said Hawk never trained legs.

Ever see Scott Norton?

I remember seeing these two at my local gym when I was a kid also saw the warlord there. Biggest dudes I've ever seen lol.
They were much better in NWA and WCW. Vince misused them
Great to see them break Kayfabe and see them as they are. Seem like very cools guys!
Excellent uplifting content, jammin music... thumbs up!
Greatest tag team an manager ever
He’s got a nice calm voice and killer eyes. The kinda guy you don’t mess with.
R.I.P Animal & Hawk 🙏
You're dearly missed.
Inspirational Athelites.
For those that remember, "hit tracking" lol!
Lol, you’re showing your age, bro. Additionally, you had to GET UP and WALK to the VCR and push tracking. We had a “remote” control that plugged into our VCR with a 10’ cord and we thought we were privileged!
auto tracking on later VCRs was a blessing, especially for the old movies you taped off of TV
This is a real deep interview

I think it was a cover remake version of it similar to ddps theme and nirvanas song smells like teen spirit and ravens theme to come as you are in wcw
REST UP BROTHERS! Doomsday some Angel's for us! ... (Nirvana in the background) rip kurt.
To think Ole Anderson put them together as the Road Warriors. Ole was also a genius.
No, wouldn’t give Ole that kinda credit. He did well here tho!

No paint! In the gym! Nice!
Kind of funny hearing Hawk talk up Vince when just 2-3 after this he would be singing a much more different tune.
Dark Side of the Ring brought me here.
I respect you animal you are so good at what you do

By 97 they were a few years past their prime. The drugs and partying etc...They could of gone a few more years if Hawk cleaned up.
Hawk was still pretty big but not like he was 5 years earlier. For me he was still passable as Hawk.
Cool to see Hawk doing squats.
April Fool's.
Hawk looks that guy Dave Canterbury off the show Dual Survivor.
Wonder if Vince produced this. Both were pugging for wwf
Animal,( never heard what your name is) - you are an honourable man so I respect you very much . Keep up the great work, okay?
EDWARD BEAVEN Joseph Michael Laurinaitis.
His name was Joe Laurinaitis
Best ever.
Nirvana in the back ground! and LOD
I love ❤️ the road warriors but this very early because there's 1 shoot we're hawk says Vince is the Devil
Lyle alzado in the back ground lol
Gym guys💪🏼😤💯
This must have been mid 90s if they're talking about the Headbangers
97

They needed more gym time...
What year was this
What year was this filmed ?
97
Never be a greater brag team an manager
Not a single weight was lifted...
RIP Hawk and Animal btw.
Was disappointed that this vid was 98% just an interview. No lifting in sight
Strange, Hawk says Brody and Hanson, but sounds like they faced them? Or maybe he's confused and means they would be the toughest? They had a match with Hanson and Race, but I have never heard of one including Brody?
Que es barefoot
Hgh tren and Dianabol work. But u won’t live passed 50
Learn how to spell. It's past 50 not passed 50 smh
Hawk has the classic steroid voice. Seems not everyone get it but quite a few do. HBK and Hawk stand out.
"12 years ago, I was a 22 years old. Anyone can do math. Now I'm a 35 year old man..."
🤔🤣🤣🤣
My team
This is from 1997
Hawk with that stupid bandana...
Stupid bandana or stupid hair… Also this was 97, Hawk had a pretty standard 97 big guy look. Bandanas and baggy’s were in all the gyms.
No actual working out.. not 1 rep
Technically that was Hawk doing curls behind Animal. 1:27
6:20 Animal doing leg extensions.
Where is the work out? flapping their lips?
They aint working nothin but their mouths, thanks for wasting my time.
Hey, at least we got some groovy retro commercials!
Go catch a chubby watching some other men working out those sweaty bodies with your miniature hog leg in tow!
And you`re both dead. Be careful with the juice.
