    All multi effects pedals sound awful with the stock presets. I usually use a blank bank, then adjust everything manually. Takes more time, but it's worth it

      @louaguado995 that's how you do it. For some reason the person/people that program fx units at the factory seem to have no clue. Lol. I've purchased very few units that sounded decent from the factory and that's just very few patches

    Read the instruction manual. Just got one, the actual box you showed was inside of a plastic bag with shipping label attached. No styrofoam padding or any padding at all just the plastic outer bag same size fit as box. The effects processor itself was in a thin synthetic plastic-paper bag inside the box on top the manual with the power supply in a small thin cardboard box on one end. The instructions say to avoid dropping or impacts to the device, I'm sure USPS would never drop or mishandle a box during postal processing or on delivery as they are aware your box with no Fragile sticker on it, is a digital electronic item that should not be dropped or have impact to it. Mine does seem to work fine though.

    • @molometer
      @molometer  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep they really do have to work on their packaging. I'm impressed that you got yours wrapped up in a plastic/paper bag. 😂
      It's an amazing piece of kit and I agree with the idea of RTFM. I'm still reading it. There's a lot to discover.
      The expression pedal has a lot of tricks too I'm finding.
      I might make some more videos on this device. It's pretty obvious that it has a lot more functionality than I've explored so far.

    Let me tell you something newbies. When it comes to these all-in-one pedals, the first thing you learn is that all the presets from the factory usually suck! You got to grab them and throw them as far away as you can possibly throw them! Then learn how to use this thing and start creating your own patches! It only sounds bad because you haven't gone in and done the work yourself. I should know I've been playing with pedals and amps for 40-plus years! Anyhow, have fun. Peace out 😂

    • @molometer
      @molometer  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep you are correct except that you cannot throw away the presets. They are baked into the chipset.
      You can adjust them but they reset to default as soon as you turn it off as any adjustments made are held in ram.
      There are user defined options where you can create your own presets as I demonstrated in the video 😂🎶🎸👍🏼

    I got this pedal today after my ZOOM G1ON took a dump on me after 5 years of use. I have to say I have managed to pull a really nice grungy sound out of this after about an hour of going through the various distortion pedal emulators and amp models. I have to say that the sound is a lot less artificial sounding than the old zoom, there doesn't seem to be as much headroom for EQ and the amp models are not as extensive as what was on the zoom, meaning that there are less bands to play with and no cab modelling, but the plus side of this is, it doesnt seem to need it to get the sound I want.
    The only frustrating thing about this pedal is that, If I want to switch between clean and distortion patch there is a delay/lag between the presets. I know That I can turn off the distortion pedal while on the preset, but this is undesirable as on my custom preset the amp alone has high gain along with distortion to get the grungy sound I want.
    However, In the land of recording, this is not a problem as I can easily work around this.

    Mine came yesterday and the AC power is not turning it on. I used batteries but as soon as you put them in it turns on and won't turn off until I pull them out. Cheers for the video mate! I'm looking for a battery-powered loop pedal and I thought, perhaps I can get a cheap pedal board with a built-in looper... it wouldn't hurt to have some more reverb and delay at the end of the chain. I just got one of these this morning. I've just started playing guitar and this is my first effects pedal. Like you, I got mine in an unsealed box, which was very strange. But whatever. The problem im finding is that the volume is all over the place from one patch to the other. I mean it goes from silent to deafeningly loud. Any of the clean sounds are so quiet that all I can hear are the strings of my guitar, but when I change to an overdriven one, its so loud my ears are ringing and I have to dive for the volume before I bring the house down. I don't want to have to send the thing back. For one thing I'm totally broke and can't even afford the postage. Is there a way to change the volumes? And is this problem unique to my one? I've not heard it mentioned anywhere else. Thanks

    Hello what is F.Clean and Modern OD based on?

    • @molometer
      @molometer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most modern amps use solid state circuits to control the output rather than valves.
      Distortion occurs when you have to much power going through the valves and they overheat and start to break up the signal.
      You can think of the clean tone as an amplified version of what the guitar sounds like unplugged. That's why it's a good idea to play an electric guitar unplugged (when buying) to get an idea of it's natural tone.
      F.clean is used in effects pedals to override the amplifiers preset tones.
      Modern overdrive is basically what we've had since the late 1990's.
      Less gritty distortion in general compared to valve amps but different pedals will have different characteristics.
      Each amp manufacturer has their own specifications for tonal range.

    Thanks for putting out this video. I got the MU100 which is put out by Muslady. To all appearances it’s absolutely identical to the Mooer, but it was slightly cheaper on Amazon.
    My initial experience was the same as yours. The default settings were ALL absolutely terrible! Just like you I was so dismayed. I could only think well, you get what you pay for. But after some tweaking I love it.
    There’s still one problem that I haven’t worked out. When I switch from one channel to another there’s no consistency to the volume. Especially going from a clean setting to anything with distortion or overdrive.
    I thought that the master volume would regulate that, but it doesn’t.
    Any ideas?

    • @molometer
      @molometer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep I've had the same experience with the mooer ge100 volume. I think the idea here is to record each track independently and adjust the levels in the mix.
      That's what I'm doing.
      Alternatively you could create a user defined patch and store all your presets in that place.
      Let us know how you get on with the process.

      @mrq6270 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@molometer an update would be great. It might save me a lot of time. I'm self employed, working from home. The guitar is already such a distraction and I've felt guilty for wasting so much time studying the manual. I've been trying to ingest it in little snippets.
      It's a great little product for someone like me. Buying individual pedals might be less confusing...but the cost! And this little box has so many features! Maybe the emulations are not as good as the real deal, but I would never have the money to buy all that stuff individually. So I really like it.
      I haven't found any use for the expression pedal though. At least not yet. I partly chose this model because I was hoping that the wah feature would be usable. But alas, it wasn't made for my big feet, and it just doesn't have emough range. That's okay though. I got so much bang for my buck that I can't complain. Some day I'll have to buy a separate wah, or fix my old cry baby.
      I made two user patches, one clean and one overdriven, and I wanted to be able to switch back and forth for rhythm and lead. But so far the uneven volume problem has me stymied. The difference is just too jarring. So I have to use one or the other, or adjust the volume at the amp, which spoils the transition.
      I think I'll try using the expression pedal to control the volume when I switch between patches. I don't know why I didn't think of that before!
      Anyway, it's still a nice little product for the price, despite any shortcomings. It's practically worth it for the looper and the drum machine alone.

      Hi Joshua, it was my honest reaction to the way it came. It was terrible and only after a lot of tweaking around did I get it to sound okay.
      As you can read in the comments I was not the only person to find out that out of the box it needed a full reset.
      Many people commented that they had bought the mooer ge100 and had given up on trying to get it to work.
      I did a follow up video to show how to reset it and showed that it can be very useful as a one stop effects processor.
      I understand your comments and appreciate your feedback. Thanks friend🎸🎶😊👍🏼

      Straight answer. 10/10.
      No hesitation.
      It works great with the Harley and HB-20r amp no pops or crackles.👍
      The list of guitar effects states on the box 64 which is plenty already but think about this for a second?
      Each one of these effects has multiple variations and permutations which means with a little forethought you have potentially infinite options for sounds/tones apart from the presets which are pretty great.
      .
      40 drum patterns again with infinite variations of speed tempo etc. Mind blown!
      It's amazing how far we have come with this technology.
      It's a full band and recording studio in one box.

    It has absolutely every little thing i need and such a good price including a 180 second looper which is so rare for these little devices if they even have a looper and when they have a looper they dont have a rhythm. Yea im more of an analog guy or disconnected digital im not gunna plug into a computer and try to find some website that probably doesnt exist anymore and they want me to create a sign in and an email and oh jesus christ man. Anyway the problem is every. Single. Video. Ive seen of this thing sounds awful, every setting sounds so bad or lukewarm at best and im not hard to please i like a lot of cheap pedals. I play jazz and metal i like either dreamy clean or very thick, neat low end and high gain distortion. Ill look for your other vid. Thanks for the review you seem to be the only person who also thinks this sounds bad. I dont typically complain about presets i even like the challenge of trying to make them work but this is just awful its just an unpleasant frequency. Its like its in a tinny lunchbox with no bottom or smooth highs just high no wide mids. I may still buy it just for the 180s loop and rhythm bc its cheaper still than a drum machine and looper.

    • @molometer
      @molometer  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I totally agree. The looper and drum machine alone is value for money.
      This little mooer ge100 has just about everything I need and with a little tweaking produces very useful tones.
      My initial reaction was omg what a pos but when I dug into it. It's pretty good considering the price.

    This pedal is the worst pedal i bought and bought for £35 lightly used with box and manuals etc, the sounds are super bad! The only good thing out of it is that i sold it for £50 . For anyone who plays the guitar, i suggest that getting a serious sound effects pedal that sounds good cos if you think this pedal is the business, then you aint heard nothing yet.
