Wonderful vid. I felt like I just bought the pedal with the way you were testing it no cuts. Cause thats what I would've also done if I got this or any effects new. Lol. Anyway, thanks for the review and more power!
Not just irs but you can change the type of drives you want. Im not sure what it's called but you can make it do a soldano distortion, a jcm800 or something somethng
Missing some jazz tone that I'vs been looking for. I am still using a Zoom GFX 8 from 20 years ago. Again the acoustic and jazz are there, but doesn't sound quite right
Wow! bought one of these a couple of weeks back. Didnt realise you could do so much with it. i pressed the 4 buttons in turn and nothing changed, i pressed the third one and got some delay but basically declared it useless and parked it with all my other rubbish effects, guess ill have to give it another try. Thanks for deciphering the instructions for us!
You forgot the part that you can even create your own profiles or load 3rd party ones as presets. Plus the Bluetooth playback and the unit being an audio interface too. :P
Dear Bald Shredder thanks for this demo. I actually bought one of these pedals. I think it's great for the money and I would definitely use it on gigs, open jams, recording etc. Does not replace my fractal, but when you want to travel light and not have to worry about power cables, etc this is a great piece! Thank you for all your excellent videos!
Hey man just wanted to thank you for the review and demo. I bought one based on this and I am very happy with it. I pretty quickly reworked the presets to one's that I made and I use it more for an fx loop/tone shaper with my Headrush MX5 or my Katana
I think it’s pretty intriguing. It might not do everything you need well, but it seems like a good general purpose tool. I’d certainly keep one in my studio.
Thank you. Your video was perfect, you gave a clear example of every mode and truly reviewed the entire pedal. (well, as much as you could). I will buy one and probably get rid of my pedals except for the Wah and Fuzz.
Update: (after watching the entire video) Hey nice color coordination on your axe and the box! Definitely 8-4 is your tone.....awesome video and superb shredding, as usual Mr. James....thank you....The Bald Shredder Strikes Again!
I find most presets on amps I've owned are heavily distorted or unusable for one reason or another. Many of those are something I would use. Only $80 bucks? I must assimilate one. Thanks man, you shred.
you can load am2 files to edit the amps, i have JCM 800, Driftwood Darkest Nightmare, EVH 5150, Dual Rectifier, Dual Rectifier + TS808, Fender Twin and a Peavey 5150, and in IR i had a bunch and i love it
Very good review of this thing, nice to hear all presets and learn about programming it. I might consider getting one as a smaller alternative to my pedalboard
holy crap. a few years ago I bought a PodGo just to have all that stuff in one place. And now this is out for $80. Geez, to be young again with all this technology. Might even make metal dude sound great.
That was a nice breakdown on this modeler / multi-effects unit! I'm sure we would all love to see a follow up to this at some point, where you go over your favorite & custom presets, of course with an ALL NEW JAM just for this video! Or you could try it out on some future guitar reviews and see how it sounds in a mix compared to your trusty POD Farm presets... Also, I think you could get even better heavy distortion / rhythm sounds out of this thing if you put an overdrive pedal in front of it, since you always have one on according to your POD Farm breakdown video! Or alternatively, you could swap out some of the factory IR's to mess around with some new ones, namely those great free ones from Ola Englund, Resington, & The Other John Browne! I've heard their Impulse Responses sound great not just for Metal, but for Rock and clean tones as well! Anyways, keep on rocking Bald Shredder! \m/
Unfortunately it's only in mono and has some background hiss (even with the noise gate on), which left me a bit underwhelmed with mine. I bought the Line 6 pod express though and have been very happy with it, even though it's a bit more expensive. I enjoy your videos!
Yes I have watched Dave. And even cooler than Dave is that Bald Shredder dude! But even cooler than that is that I am #8 on the like list today! Now that’s cool buddy!
Did you see the video from “Riffs & Rig” about the “M-Vave” version of the Tank-G ? They show how the latter rig can set your house on fire … I think this is the same rig, just branded differently and different colour of ofcourse..
@@1980JPA you do not want to buy a rig witch you have to open up to make sure that it is save, i think, but if you already have it, this vid shows what you can do about it, if you know how to..
@@cvanhetkaar96 you are absolutely correct. Just out of not wanting to freak out someone that already owned it and read the words "set your house on fire" I would have just mentioned that there was a fairly simple fix. I do agree that most would not want to buy it knowing they have to fix it besides some tinkerers and DIYers. I happen to be one of those weirdos, lol.
Nice playing. This pedal reminds me of the Flyrig ones. But I prefer one with an expression pedal. I used an old Digitech multi effects and amp modeling pedal for years. Then I switched to Zoom. My latest is a Mooer GE150, great pedal with 55 amp sim's 26 cab sim's and 6 mic's to choose from. The mic's placement is also adjustable. But the most important thing for me is the expression pedal that can control volume, gain, modulation speeds, and Wah. You should check one out. 😁
Thanks bro for the review ! ! From one nipple head to another, your doin' us proud ! ! HAAAAAAAAA ! What I like most about this is the user accessibility and ease of controlling your own sound. The fact that you can change the pre-sets to whatever you want is brilliant and they're movable. Professional sounding pre-sets. This pedal seems to have the best pre-sets from a much more expensive unit - Fractal, which I can't afford, but because of this, I mi9mic the settings on the pre-sets to and board effects setup and blitz on to oblivion.
I have tried out many multi fx pedals over the years. But always go back to my 30 year old zoom 4040. It has two assignable pedals. One pedal is used for volume, I like making a solo sound like a violin. The second pedal controls how much I want to increase the assigned effect. I’ve programmed the sounds and only use four settings. 1 is clean, 2 is clean with echo, 3 is distortion and 4 Is distortion with echo. The pedal is so old, still go for £140 on eBay. So I bought a second one as back up.
also You could load your own IR cabs there and its a profiler, you can profile you favorite overdrives if you dont like the stock presets, for 80$ its really not that bad,
it's to bad they have you do the double switch to Bank up and down, maybe just a long press on "D" for Down "A" for Up ? or even a switch output on both sides to add a switch.
I bought a effects pedal on AliExpress and it was only 20 dollars and it had at least ten different multi effects i couldn't believe it was amazing even had a looper mode. And it was small like could fit in your front pocket.
I ordered one after seeing a TH-cam video of the Studio Rats testing it out. I was really excited to try it once it arrived, but the sound quality wasn't there. I also had a problem running it through the power amp input jack on my amp - it had a strange level issue where if it was too much signal the volume decreased. It could've been a really cool handy thing to have, but for me at least, the sound quality was way lacking compared to the regular gain from my amp. Returned it the next day for an amazon credit.
@@thebaldshredder I also tried and returned the Line 6 Pod express - same issue with the unit not sounding nearly as good as just plugging into an amp. Oh well... guess I'm an amp guy. LOL
Worth noting that in the case of the Studio Rats video, he had loaded his own IRs onto the unit (Ownhammer V30 4x12 according to the video comments, though I don’t know which specific one). From everything I see/read on this unit, better quality IRs really wake these up. I just got mine, and haven’t had a chance yet to load any 3rd party IRs yet. I agree that the stock IRs could definitely be improved upon.
And can you point me to or show all the versions of OUTPUT?? Do I need an amp? Headphones directly from this? directly into my computer to listen from computer speakers? Thank you!
I love the idea of not needing a psu...Just one question. How is it for background noise? I bought a Mooer multi effects unit a couple of years ago which was very versatile and dirt cheap, but it was just too noisy to use.
As a fellow bald shredder i subbed just for the name lol. I stayed for the cool demo. Not my thing but it is really a good product for the price or as a cheaper alternative to Fly Rigs. I had the Paul Landers one and sold it, preferring my pedalboard and Headrush still as its not heavy. Playing a little Ratt and Heart? ...nice playing.
I have the Mvave Tank G, and now you also make captures of pedals and Guitar plugins with a software provided, don't know if Playwell has this feature too
I’m new to multi effects pedal can you please explain me how to connect,I think we need 2 cord cables? Do I need to buy any other cables to connect this?
You will still need an amplifier to play this through a speaker as it doesn’t have a power amp in it sadly. I have an Orange Terror Stamp amp-in-pedal-form-factor and it’s cool. If they put a power amp and pre-amp (even solid state) it would be rad
Nice Soldano-purple ... it's just that, Playwell was a lousy Playmobil knockoff made in Hong Kong :/ The question is ... where in this world are all the Hi-resolution PA systems with studio quality and monitor speakers (or in-ear) with Hi-Fi sound?? We are kinda dependable on that, and you have no guarantee you will hear yourself at all, nor the audience (they will remember drums...)
I've been thinking about getting one of these. Maybe at lease enough to tell if I need one of these or not. And btw, I"VE UPGRADED TO A C-128.Yeah, take that dude.....OPEN 1, 1, 0, "FILENAME" LOL! but I would not go for an Amiga A600...NO WAY!

The only added features that you’re getting for the $79 are the noise gate , an extra foot switch and the cube baby battery life is listed as 6 hours ……. not 12 . The Tank is about twice the size also . The noise gate is a very desirable effect , but not worth $50 more .
