This is my favourite time they did this song together. They sang it fully together later at an awards show and became good friends. John did a 50th birthday concert and the whole back wall turned into a screen. It was Tom dropping in from his show in Vegas to sing Happy Birthday to John because he couldn’t be there. They are both truly nice people with natural voices that didn’t know how to give up.
Yes, every Australian knows Hey Hey It’s Saturday.

I saw Tom Jones and John Farnham in concert at the Tennis Centre in Melbourne. What a concert that was!!

They did become good friends later on. Here John is just absolutely star struck! He’s a modest boy our John and this would have been a real moment for him. The “echo” is his vibrato! In Australia everyone is your best friend right after you meet them, that’s just what we’re like 😂

It's amazing that this performance hasn't been reacted to 100000 times, a bit like Tom's "I'll never fall in love". So well done for spotting this one. It's an extraordinary performance from both performers but Tom is quite superb.

They also did a song at the Australian Logie Awards. They sang AC/DC’s It’s a Long Way to the Top if you Want to Rock and Roll. They also toured together in later years. Both worth a reaction. Thanks.

A great one to check out is John Farnham - When The War Is Over (Live) [The Last Time: Melbourne 2003] He must have been about 54 and singing better than ever.❤

That’s our John, and this is not the only time, John and Tom did a cover of ACDC’s, It’s a Long way to the Top If You Want to Rock and Roll. Hey Hey it’s Saturday is a show that ran for many years in Australia. Firstly it used to be on Saturday morning but it had to be moved to Saturday night’s because it was deemed for mature audience’s. It was required watching and great show and we were sad when it ended, it certainly left a hole on Saturday’s viewing.🇦🇺🤷‍♀️

We all, well most of us watched Hey Hey It’s Saturday every week. Too difficult to describe whole show, mayhem, laughter, Ossie Ostrich, Plucka Duck. Terrible but funny talent show called Red faces - John and many other Aussie singers and Americans on the show too, who had no idea of the chaotic nonsensical fun sometimes but joined in and laughed - and more segments and things 😂 the show was wonderful Australian mayhem

If you haven’t already check out John Farnham and jimmy barnes(when there’s something wrong with my baby, live please), also John did a great cover of (when the war is over and AC/DC, it’s a long way to the top with the Melbourne symphony orchestra).

I think John’s voice is done now though. But yes he could still sing until last year when he had mouth and jaw cancer

@@TeacherPaulReacts John has just received the 'all clear' from his cancer. He underwent a mammoth 12 hour operation for cancer of the jaw last year, has recuperated with multiple surgeries etc, and is now singing in the shower and around the house.
